Nework virtualization enables efficient resource utilization and it also reduces capital expenditures and operational expenditures of mobile network operators (MNOs). In this paper, we present virtualized wireless network where users of each service provider (SP) are served by an infrastructure provider (InP) who owns a set eNBs. We propose the problem of power allocation of each user that belongs to service providers. We aim to maximize the total rate of mobile users with limited power. We introduce Dual decomposition technique to address the optimization problem.","PeriodicalId":188636,"journal":{"name":"2017 19th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132774389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) are key roles for this innovation. This paper proposes a vCPE framework enables deploying VNFs as edge of network. These VNFs are achieved by the synergies between a VNF controller on the cloud and an SDN switch at the edge. A multiple flow table management model is also proposed to implement virtual network functions. Through the proposed vCPE framework, the customer only needs a generic SDN switch at local network and very easy to subscribing different network services, such as Firewall, NAT, DHCP, and applications quality of service (QoS) by a browser-based dashboard. Experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of VNFs implemented by the proposed multiple flow table management model. The flexibility of framework to integrate with other application classification systems, such as IDS or IPS, is also demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":188636,"journal":{"name":"2017 19th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128936171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paradigm, security issues that already plague the development of IoT become even more important, and users may have strict requirements on how and when their resources could be shared and in consequence connected with others'. In this paper, we propose an approach to enforce user constraints in dynamic, multi-tenant, software-defined networks of devices. Building on Policy-Based Network Management adapted to user needs, we propose a domain specific language to express policies on shared individual resources as well as shared collections of resources from multiple tenants. We also describe the associated distributed mechanisms to enforce such rules across domains, before showing through evaluation that the solution enforces properly the expressed constraints with minimal time footprint.","PeriodicalId":188636,"journal":{"name":"2017 19th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122755531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By decoupling control plane from data plane, OpenFlow allows network operators to program a centralized intelligence, OpenFlow controller, to manage network-wide traffic flows to meet the changing needs. However, from the security's point of view, a buggy or even malicious controller could compromise the control logic, and then the entire network. Even worse, the recent attack Stuxnet on industrial control systems also indicates the similar, severe threat to OpenFlow controllers from the commercial operating systems they are running on. In this paper, we comprehensively studied the attack vectors against the OpenFlow critical component, controller, and proposed a cross layer diversity approach that enables OpenFlow controllers to detect attacks, corruptions, failures, and then automatically continue correct execution. Case studies demonstrate that our approach can protect OpenFlow controllers from threats coming from compromised operating systems and themselves.","PeriodicalId":188636,"journal":{"name":"2017 19th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127021783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is very crucial to identify the influential users in the social networks for viral and target marketing. Influence maximization (IM) problem estimates such influential users in the social networks. With an initial seed set, the IM finds a maximum number of nodes that can be activated in the network under some diffusion models e.g. Linear Threshold model or Independent Cascade model. But previous works in this field have not studied about the minimum cost, termed as opportunity cost (OC), to motivate those seed nodes. In this work, we define a novel Reverse Influence Maximization (RIM) problem to determine the opportunity cost of influence maximization. Employing the influence propagation in opposite order, the RIM determines the minimum number of nodes that must be activated in order to motivate a set of target nodes. We propose Random RIM (R-RIM) and Randomized Linear Threshold RIM (RLT-RIM) models to tackle the RIM problem. We also perform a simulation to evaluate the performance of the algorithms using two real world datasets. The result shows that the proposed models determine the optimized opportunity cost with faster running time margin.","PeriodicalId":188636,"journal":{"name":"2017 19th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128078847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although some methods solves the issues, they do not balance load among controllers. In this paper, we propose a load balancing mechanism based on switches group for multiple controllers. The mechanism not only balances the load among controllers, but also solves the load oscillation and improves time efficiency.
