{"title":"THE CONCEPT OF GESAMTKUNSTWERK AND 14TH SECESSION EXHIBITION","authors":"Kader Surmeli","doi":"10.17719/jisr.2021.4809","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17719/jisr.2021.4809","url":null,"abstract":"Art Nouveau, which shows various original and local qualities in every country where it appears, has existed in Austria under the name of \"Secession Style\". With the desire to implement their new ideas, Secession artists left the Austrian Artists’ Society and founded the Association of Visual Artists Vienna Secession in 1897 under the leadership of Gustav Klimt. Between 1898-1905, they organized 23 exhibitions presenting the pioneers of International Modernism and the innovations they wanted to implement to art lovers from Vienna. The 14th Exhibition of the Association, held between April 15 and June 27, 1902, was held as a tribute to the Composer Ludwig Van Beethoven. Held on the 75th anniversary of Beethoven's death, the exhibition revealed the Secession artists' vision of the inclusive synthesis of art. Curated by Josef Hoffmann, the exhibition in which twenty-one artists worked together. At the center of the exhibition Beethoven statue by Max Klinger was located, while Gustav Klimt's Beethoven Frieze, which covers the three walls in the hall, was one of the most important works of the exhibition. Besides these works; There were works by Alfred Roller, Adolf Böhm, Ferdinand Andri and other artists. The purpose of the exhibition was to unite different branches of art such as architecture, painting, sculpture and music under a common theme and to create a \"total work of art\" from the mutual interaction of all these works. {"title":"THE INCLUSION OF MINSTREL TRADITION IN TRADITIONAL TURKISH FOLK MUSIC EDUCATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OPINIONS AND EXPECTATIONS OF TODAY S MINSTRELS","authors":"Uygar Onalan, Ulku Sevim Sen","doi":"10.17719/jisr.2021.4807","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17719/jisr.2021.4807","url":null,"abstract":"In this research, the aim is to determine to what extent the minstrel tradition is included in traditional Turkish folk music education. The study is of qualitative type and is a case study. The pattern which was used in the study is the Interpretive Social Science approach, which is known to be mostly used in qualitative research. The participants of the study consist of 14 minstrels, 4 of whom reside in Kars, 5 in Erzurum, 3 in Ankara, 1 in Izmir and 1 in Istanbul. The data of the research were obtained as a result of the interviews with the minstrels between November and December in 2020. As a data collection tool, a semi-structured interview form consisting of nine openended questions prepared by the researchers was used. It has been understood that the notions regarding the tradition of minstrelsy not being given enough place in traditional Turkish folk music education is mostly dominant. Although, it was determined that a lesser extent stated that it was sufficient. It is seen that most of the requests for discussions and invitations for classes for the minstrels who were to be interviewed in the area of bachelor's degree, postgraduate or doctoral education were mostly from the Faculties of Literature and Turkish Language and Literature departments, while the invitations to a small number of minstrels are from the institutions where professional music education is given. The research has provided the opportunity to make various determinations in line with the views and expressions of the minstrels about the importance of tradition, its contributions to the society as a cultural and historical document, how necessary it is to carry Turkish culture and music to the future, and the inclusion of the minstrel tradition in the Turkish education system through the education policies of the state From the data obtained, it is seen that the biggest problem experienced in the transfer and survival of this culture is the fact of unemployment (economical problems) encountered among minstrels in general. The main objective of the Tavsanli Hoyuk survey is to shed light onto the transition between the end of the 3rd Millennium BC and the 2nd Millennium BC. The purpose of the geo-archaeological research around the Tavsanli Hoyuk was to reveal the influential factors in selection of the spot for founding the mound and the environmental changes that took place around the mound in time and space. For this purpose, vibracorings were done at three points on a line stretching from the alluvial fillings left by Orhaneli Stream flowing in the east to the mound. The preliminary results of our research seem eye-opener for in two ways. It revealed environmental conditions of Tavsanli Hoyuk but also confirmed that the findspot is a prominent Bronze Age city in Western Anatolia. On this occasion, he got to know very well the region he lived in, the balance between the tribes and the neighboring states of the Arabs. After he became the Caliph, he carried Islam away from the Arabian Peninsula due to the contribution of these experiences. Islam reached Azerbaijan in his time. As a result of the long years of struggle between Byzantium and Sassanid (603-628), Azerbaijani lands came under the rule of Sassanid politically. Although the Azerbaijani territories were politically under the Sassanid rule, the Arab armies came face to face with the local people during the conquest. As a matter of fact, the conquered Berde, Sheki, Belencer, Nakhchivan, Gorus, Gebele, Shirvan, Shabran and Aran regions are in the current Azerbaijani religions. Umar carried out his conquests on three fronts. The first is the Iraqi front where the Sassanid’s are located; the second is the Palestine, Egypt and Damascus front against the Byzantines. The third front was towards Azerbaijan and the around the Caucasus. The Caliph won victories by appointing commanders to the conquest regions and expanded the Islamic lands in this context. \u0000 \u0000Since we will deal with the conquests of Umar in Azerbaijan in this article, we will not describe all the wars he made in his caliphate. We will talk about Umar taking Islam to Azerbaijani lands. Islam spread rapidly in these lands due to the living conditions and beliefs of the Turks close to the principles of the religion of Islam. Turks living in these regions for a long time have believed in a single god. Thus, the local people of the country did not have much difficulty in accepting Islam. With the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the independent state of the Kyrgyz Republic was established on August 31, 1991. With the political discourses and practices put forward by the state in the post-independence period, Kyrgyzstan has begun to be called the most democratic country in Central Asia. The geography of Kyrgyzstan has an important geostrategic and geopolitical position, which is on the trade routes from history to the present, and which constitutes the transition point from east to west in central Asia. However, rich underground mines and energy resources increase the importance of the country in the modern world. The One Belt One Road project, which is planned on the same route today as the Silk Road gained in the past, has increased the geopolitical importance of Kyrgyzstan again. In this context, it can be said that this geopolitical and geostrategic importance will continue in the future. Kyrgyzstan, whose importance has become more and more important in the process of rapidly intensifying competition due to the geopolitical and geostrategic situation of the Central Asian region, the presence of large energy resources and rich underground mines, constantly strives to maintain the multi-faceted foreign policy principle in its foreign policy approach in order to balance the effects of the great powers in the region and the country. With his bright prophetic vision of the future and his realistic depiction of the imminent World War II, rapid industrialisation that manifested itself especially in the mass production of firearms in the eve of World War II, Orwell achieves to warn humanity against the war and its calamity afterwards. Gastronomy tourism is very important in terms of promoting and marketing a destination and creating a destination image. This is because gastronomic tourism is not only an alternative type of tourism, but it can also be integrated with many other alternative tourism types. In this context, the development of gastronomic tourism in a region can attract more tourists to that region, thus enabling the region to get a higher share of tourism revenues. It is important to develop alternative tourism types such as gastronomy tourism especially for provinces such as Mus that are not located in the coastal area and cannot get enough share from the income of sea-sand-sun tourism. Therefore, in this study, the aim is to evaluate the gastronomy tourism potential of Mus province. For this purpose, evaluations were made regarding the gastronomy tourism potential of Muş province; With the SWOT Analysis method, the strengths and weaknesses of the gastronomy tourism potential of the province of Muş were tried to be determined, and the opportunities and threats for the development of gastronomy tourism in the province were evaluated. As a result, considering the historical background of the province of Mus, rich culinary culture, agriculture and animal husbandry activities, natural plant diversity in the region and other alternative tourism types that can be realized in integration with gastronomy tourism, it has been observed that the province has a serious potential for gastronomy tourism. The research took place in one of the private language institutes in Istanbul, Turkey. Of the fifty participants, twenty-five were males and twenty-five were females. The participants' age range was between sixteen and twenty-two years of age. The research showed that lack of opportunity to speak, fear of making mistakes, lack of self-confidence, and not being comfortable speaking in the class are negative factors affecting their speaking ability. In addition, lack of speaking and listening, different grammar structures of Turkish and English, lack of vocabulary, shyness, and, most importantly, thinking in the first language and then translating in the target are other factors hindering progress.
