It finds that the households affected by arsenicosis are more likely to adopt an arsenic-safe source than the unaffected households. The paper also analyses the role of factors like the extensiveness of arsenicosis, intensity of symptoms and the years of experience about the health and social hazards associated with it at the household level on the adoption decision of the households. It finds that although the marginal impact of these factors on the adoption decision is small, the effect of years of suffering is stronger than the other two factors. The results derived in the paper have important policy implications. The results suggest that greater adoption of piped water sources in arsenic affected villages can be facilitated if the awareness is spread through the households, who suffered from arsenicosis for a long time. The piped water sources must be located more evenly in the clustered villages for greater adoption. Traditionally, excess generation in any country has to be bilaterally traded or delayed signing Power Purchase Agreements to avoid capacity charges. However, in recent years, with increased pressure to increase energy access in the region, the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) has been established to introduce robust bilateral and short-term markets. Price signals are critical to determining investment levels in a competitive electricity market. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the feasibility of bidding zones using clustering methodology in selected East African Countries. This paper simulates a zonal wholesale market with optimal power flow and k-means clustering theory to identify optimal bidding zones strategies and determine Nash-equilibrium prices. The results indicate that when the markets engage in the wholesale markets with planned transmission investment, the configuration of three optimal zones induces the highest welfare level. Urbanization is also important and should be promoted more efficiency in China. The ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin has been destroyed, further affecting the process of urbanization. The difficulty of sustainable economic development has increased. Therefore, China needs high-quality economic development. In this context, the coordinated development of the ecological environment, urbanization and high-quality economy in the Yellow River Basin deserve more attention. Based on the time-series data of the Yellow River Basin from 2010 to 2020, this paper analyzes the trend and characteristics of the development of the ecological environment subsystem, urbanization subsystem and high-quality economy subsystem by building a comprehensive evaluation system of the three subsystems, using entropy method and coupling coordination degree model. The results show that: from 2010 to 2020, the comprehensive level show an obvious upward trend; the story of urbanization and high-quality economic growth is higher than the level of ecological environment. Urbanization and economic development show the spatial difference of environmental carrying capacity; the coupling degree has been at a high level, and the coordination degree has changed significantly. We can conclude that the system coordination degree is in a steady upward trend. And, as a whole, it is shifting to order from disorder and getting to the level of coordination.
