In spite of various entrepreneurship development programmers launched by the govt. and non-government agencies, the entrepreneurs are encountering a number of problems for establishing economically viable small- scale units. Contribute significantly to the running of family businesses mostly in the form of unpaid effort and skills. Programmers meant to reach women entrepreneurs can succeed only if they take note of this paradox as well as of the familial and social conditioning that reduces the confidence, independence and mobility of women. Therefore, instead of just schemes as the carrot for entrepreneurship development an intensive training needs to be provided to the women and youth in rural India and create an entrepreneurship training system as per integrated rural development program. Rural entrepreneurship is the answer to removal of rural poverty in India.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129911540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on primary data for 2010-11 collected from 30 organic farming and 30 conventional sample households from the Erode district of Tamil Nadu. The organic farming sample households have been found younger and more educated having larger landholdings and better resources. The organic farming is labour intensive, but its cost of cultivation is lower due to saving on chemical fertilizers, irrigation, seeds and agrochemicals. The yield on organic farmer has been reported lower but it is more than compensated by the price premium received and yield and profit stability observed on the organic farming. In addition, the organic farming has been found superior in terms of economic well being and livelihood security of the farmer.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127384212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reasons for this change are well known and include a shift from defined benefit to defined contribution retirement programs, longer life spans, and growing uncertainty and even company pensions. The savings rate has been declining on one hand and process of portfolio management becoming more and more complex. The Government of India intends to spread financial literacy and awareness through its ambitious policies. The investors though are aware of need of systematic planning; do not engage them in such effort. The present study is an attempt to understand the underlying reasons for such disinterest by investors. Many reasons such as lack of knowledge of financial planning, unawareness of the role of financial planners, self rated expertise was found to be prominent among them. The study is limited to Ahmednagar city and can be useful in identifying underlying reasons for non engagement in financial planning or help by professionals.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116948305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Indian economy is also not exception to this situation because world economy cannot perform in seclusion in today's faster growing world. All the economies are interlinked to each other and any major ebb and flow in economic conditions causes numerous impacts for all other economies. The global economic crisis started with Subprime disaster in the US. Many strong economies are suffering from the crisis of credit and liquidity due to the interconnectedness of each other in international trade relations. This situation has the negative impacts on GDP, Employment, exports, FDI and economic development of the nation. Government and Policy makers are always taking precautionary measures for maintaining the economic stability and corrective actions in inflationary and recession situations. The striking balance of Monetary and Fiscal policies may help to overcome the situation to some extent. Monetary and Fiscal policies can be framed and implemented according to the economic situations. Central Banks of countries can influence the economy through the use of monetary policy by controlling the monetary variables such as rate of interest, the money supply and the volume of credit. The fiscal policy can be used to help on economy out of recession or reduce demand pressures in a boom. Monetary and fiscal policies are complementary to each other. Monetary policy influences the level of aggregate income and spending in the economy by influencing the money supply and cost of borrowing. Fiscal policy affects income and spending through its effects on size, composition and timing of government revenue and spending. These two policies can play the role in a perfect balancing for promotion of inclusive growth. This paper will focus on the important and balanced role of monetary and fiscal policy in economy with reference to the current scenario in Indian Economy.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122652463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nearly half of the people junk there house hold waste on open site, which will cause ill effects to the society.70% of the people are ready to give their household waste to any agency which will pay them small amount or no amount. Most of the people are ready to give their waste to a private agency.80 % of the people want the agency to come to their door for collection daily Thus we can say that there is opportunity for starting new business like collecting food waste from various households from a region to decompose it and create manure to sell. 59% of the people never think about recycling their waste. 40% of the people never think of the products to buy in recyclable packaging. This gives a new opportunity to start business like collection all the objects which can be recycled from a particular region and recycle it or give it to recycling center. Majority of the people except in Bhingar region are ready to install the machine which will create bio gas for their family which is based on household waste. Thus this is good opportunity to start the various businesses like producing the machine, installation of the machine as well as good opportunity will be provided for marketing the machine which is good solution for the problem of LPG gas which every household is facing. If agency will pay the people some amount for the waste they give, then waste can generate money for the people so that they will not treat waste as waste. People will handle it properly, which will result in goodahealthy environment also it will be helpful for the people who will collect waste for various processing.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125498494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efficient management of working capital is crucial of sustaining the business in the long run. Working capital best captured through Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) or Cash Conversion Efficiency (CCE) reveals how good the company is at managing its working capital. Analysis of working capital management over the past few years has revealed that while many companies have enjoyed double-digit sales growth, but their CCE, which is the ratio of operating cash flow as a percentage of sales, has been decreasing year-on-year. This means that organizations are converting sales to cash at a lower rate and not taking advantage of the scale in good times. Improving the CCE will become all the more imperative in the face of slowdown due to economic downturn and with growing competition. This means companies would need to resort to both cost minimization and adopt the best practices in working capital management to improvise cash flows. This paper focuses on the understanding and analysing the best practices adopted the by companies across several industries like automobile, steel, cement etc. to improve their working capital management and cash management capabilities to better survive and thrive in the competitive economic environment. The paper attempts to enlist best practices which can be adopted by companies to perform their operations efficiently and to improve their financial performance.","PeriodicalId":183686,"journal":{"name":"IBMRD's Journal of Management & Research","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129864546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
