These three design objectives are mostly conflicting and should be considered simultaneously in order to have an optimal design. This paper proposes a method based on duplicating the virtual channels of each NoC node as well as parity codes to prevent SEUs from producing erroneous data. The method is compared with two widely used SEU-tolerant methods i.e., the switch to switch and the end to end flow control methods, in terms of reliability, power consumption and performance. A flit level VHDL-based simulator and Synopsys power compiler tool have been used to extract experimental results. However, although web services are becoming business-critical components, there is no practical way to assess the robustness of the code or to compare alternative implementations concerning robustness. The approach proposed is based on a set of robustness tests (i.e., invalid web services call parameters) that is applied in order to discover both programming and design errors. The web services are classified based on the failures observed during the execution of the tests. The approach is illustrated by evaluating several web services publicly available in the Internet and two different implementations of the web services specified by the standard TPC-App performance benchmark. Hardware-based bloom filters have drawn a great attention due to the fact that they provide constant lookup times at the cost of small false positives. A fault in bloom filters, however, may render the system unable to function correctly since no false negatives cannot be guaranteed. In this paper, we present a fault- tolerant bloom filter which tolerates faults in such a way that no false negatives can be guaranteed. The proposed architecture is simple enough to be implemented without any significant hardware overhead. The design of a SIP proxy server cluster with a single dispatcher in a SIP network faces the single-point-offailure problem. The use of dual SIP dispatcher architecture was proposed and VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) was used as an IP failover mechanism. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a dependable SIP network that includes n + k SIP dispatchers (n active dispatchers + k backup dispatchers) to control and monitor a cluster ofm SIP proxy servers for VoIP and video conferencing applications. A fast failure detection and failover (FFF) scheme has also been proposed. FFF uses OpenAIS as a high availability middleware to perform health check and failover of dispatchers and proxy servers. We present a distributed scheduling algorithm called RTG-L. The algorithm uses gossip-based communication for dynamically and dependably discovering eligible nodes. Traditionally, gossip protocols incur high message overhead. We explain that this problem is not that serious. We present a gossip-based message propagation protocol with lower message overhead. In scheduling local thread sections, RTG-L exploits slacks to optimize gossip time utilization. Thereby, it satisfies end-to-end time constraints with probabilistic assurance. A naive technique, which utilizes emerging multicore processors and relies upon thread-level redundancy to detect soft errors, is power hungry. Another technique, which relies upon instruction-level redundancy, diminishes computing performance seriously. This paper investigates trade-off between power and performance of a dependable multicore processor, which is named multiple clustered core processor (MCCP). It is proposed to hybrid thread- and instruction-level redundancy to achieve both large power efficiency and small performance loss. The protocol allows a group of cooperating real-time processes to establish a consistent view of each other's operational status, i.e. working correctly or not. The aim is to provide an application independent membership service in systems where several distributed real-time tasks share processing nodes. We assume that each such task consists of several processes executing on different nodes and that each node can execute processes belonging to different tasks. The protocol is applicable to any application domain, but has been developed for automotive active safety systems. Here, typical distributed real-time tasks include anti-lock braking, stability control and collision mitigation. This paper discusses the dependability evaluation of a cooperative backup service for mobile devices. Participating devices leverage encounters with other devices to temporarily replicate critical data. Permanent backups are created when the participating devices are able to access the fixed infrastructure. Several data replication and scattering strategies are presented, including the use of erasure codes. A methodology to model and evaluate them using Petri nets and Markov chains is described. In this paper, we model the sensitivity of individual circuit classes to single event upsets using predictive technology models over a range of CMOS device sizes from 90 nm down to 32 nm. Modeling the relative position of particle strikes as injected current pulses of varying amplitude and fall time, we find that the critical charge for each technology is an almost linear function both of the fall time of the injected current and the supply voltage.
