To solve the above problems, the inherent characteristics of the two-speed planetary gear transmission system without power interruption were studied and analyzed to find out the influence law of its inherent characteristics. The inherent characteristics of a planetary gear drive system are mainly related to the integrated stiffness such as component mass, support stiffness, and meshing stiffness in the system. Based on the centralized mass method, the translation-torsional coupling dynamics model of the double planetary gear drive system was established. According to the displacement coordination relationship between the components of the system, the dynamics equation of the double planetary gear drive system was constructed. The mass matrix and stiffness matrix were obtained using MATLAB, and the system’s natural frequency was obtained by solving the dynamics equation. The results show that the low-order natural frequency is mainly the torsional vibration mode of the center component and the torsional vibration mode of the center component. The influence of the mass of the component on the natural frequency is more complex and has a certain influence on both the high- and low-order natural frequency. However, engaging in metal turning operations carries risks that can lead to serious accidents and physical harm. It is crucial to ensure that these systems are functioning correctly, as any malfunction or flaw can lead to dangerous situations. To maintain safety in industrial environments, it is important to assess the risks and reliability of the equipment. A study was conducted using a method called fuzzy fault tree analysis (FFTA), combined with fuzzy logic, to determine the probability of basic events. Bayesian networks (BNs) were utilized to update probabilities and overcome limitations of the fault tree (FT). A Dynamic Bayesian Network (DBN) was employed to estimate the reliability of a metal lathe in a specific scenario. The FT identified 57 root events and estimated the probability of workpiece FLY-OUTS as 0.03174329 using the FT method and 0.031505849 using the BN method. Based on the predictions of the DBN, system reliability decreased by 19.89% after 24 months. The FT diagram comprehensively captured all the factors associated with FLY-OUTS, highlighting that improper closing of the part on the tool was a significant contributing factor. It merges the convolutional neural networks, extreme value theory, and bootstrap methods to handle the available corrosion data obtained through nondestructive inspection techniques for structural integrity assessments. It is due to the high cost of inspection techniques actually used in many industries to generate a reliable large amount of data to be analyzed by traditional statistical tools and technical factors, such as the inaccessibility of certain zones of the assets. First, the most appropriate extreme value distribution is determined to best fit the available inspection data, aiming to generate sufficient information for the training and testing processes of a one-dimensional convolutional neural network model to improve the accuracy of the useful life estimation. To demonstrate the main features and capabilities of the methodology, the dataset of AISI 1018 steel tubes of a heat exchanger used in a Brazilian refinery subjected to a general corrosion-type extreme process is retained herein.
