In this paper, we study the economy driven resource allocation problem based on market model of grid resource management architectures. We model the problem as the multiple choice knapsack problem (MCKP) and design the resource allocation optimization algorithm to minimize the average turnaround time of the grid workflow. The complexity analysis shows that the optimization algorithm leads to more efficient resource allocation than many current algorithms. In this paper, difference between RM-ODP and one concrete example EA, and applicability of Use of UML for ODP system specifications [2] (or UML4ODP in short) standard to the example EA, are discussed. Several additional diagrams that exist in EA guideline book in Japan [4] but not in UML4ODP are suggested as complementary additions to existing diagrams. In particular, the quality of service associated with Web service interactions and its monitoring rely on the proper use by both parties of related Web service protocols. This monitoring is best served by an event-centric model and an extensible scripting language, such as those in the event-driven test scripting language (eTSL). The paper illustrates how it can be used for such monitoring purposes. The eTSL is designed specifically for monitoring the compliance of XML-based protocols and messages. In recent years, UNICORE 5 is used as a well-tested grid middleware system in production grids (e.g. DEISA, D-Grid) and at many supercomputer centers world-wide. Beyond this production usage, UNICORE serves as a solid basis in many European and International research projects and business scenarios from T-Systems, Philips Research, Intel, Fujitsu and others. To foster ongoing developments in multiple projects, UNICORE is open source under BSD license at SourceForge. More recently, the new Web services-based UNICORE 6 has become available that is based on open standards such as the Web services addressing (WS-A) and the Web services resource framework (WS-RF) and thus conforms to the open grid services architecture (OGSA) of the open grid forum (OGF). In this paper we present the evolution from production UNICORE 5 to the open standards-based UNICORE 6 and its various Web services-based interfaces. We provide a framework for automated management of compensations in business activity type extended transactions. Our annotations provide a flexible, intuitive and easy to use alternative. With a few declarative statements, users can configure the relationship between units of work and their compensations. Considering that some business logic portions are quite volatile and susceptible to changes and other portions are quite stable and less susceptible to changes, a model for flexible service integration using business rules and service ontology is proposed. The volatile portions are externalized as business rules and the stable portions as Web services. However, many graphs are stored as unstructured images or proprietary binary objects, making them difficult to work with beyond the reports in which they are embedded. While graphs can be mapped to more common XML representations, these lack expressive semantics to discover new knowledge about them or to answer queries at various levels of granularity. This paper describes an OWL ontology that facilitates the representation, exchange, reasoning and query answering of statistical graph data. Thus, the information access control mechanism for e-health services must be embedded with privacy-enhancing technologies. Role-based access control (RBAC) model has been widely investigated and applied to various applications for a period of time. This paper presents an extended framework of RBAC with privacy-based extensions to tackle such a need.
