In addition, they are challenged by lapses in cash-flow as project owners postpone contract payments. For this reason, many high-rise building contractors have declared job cuts and are attempting to lower costs. The wealth of any country is measured by its performance in construction project delivery within the construction industry which is inherently large, unstable and requires great capital expenditures. For Kuwait economies, the commercial construction business constitutes a major component of the construction industry. The aim of the study reported in this research was to identify the causes and impact of cost increase and schedule delays in commercial construction projects in Kuwait. The study was carried out in Kuwait through a questionnaire that surveyed 300 building owners and developers of commercial projects in Kuwait. The results of the study confirmed the prevalence of cost increase and schedule delays in commercial construction projects in Kuwait. What is more, the study established delay of payments to be the number one cause of schedule delays in the Kuwait commercial construction industry, followed by the financial processes in client organizations and the financial difficulties that accompany the delayed release of funds by client organizations, contract adjustments and economic hardships. The study concludes that all the issues recognized in this study need to be carefully managed, so as to avoid risks that are attributable to them through enhanced risk and project management performed by clients, contractors and consultants.","PeriodicalId":180669,"journal":{"name":"International Business Management","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131868768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to increase the resilience, competitiveness, and efficiency of national banks, it is necessary to arrange the scope of business activities and open office networks that are adjusted to the bank's capital capacity. This condition is considered by Bank Indonesia by issuing Bank Indonesia Regulation No.14/26/PBI/2012 concerning Business Activities and Office Networks Based on Bank Core Capital. Article 1 paragraph 4 states that Commercial Banks are based on Business Activities, hereinafter referred to as BOOKS, are groups of Banks based on Business Activities that are adjusted to their core capital [1].","PeriodicalId":180669,"journal":{"name":"International Business Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124371263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study spans from the periods 2000-2019. The objective of this research among others is to find out the effect of interest rate variations on corporate financial investments in Nigeria. The study employed a quasi experimental correlation design using an Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method of regression analysis and various tests of significance. The first observation revealed that positive relationship exists between the interest rates and the level of corporate investment decisions. The result of the second regression revealed an inverse relationship which indicates that investment in corporate assets increases with decrease in interest rate. It is pertinent, therefore, to assert from the investigations made, so far that the level of variation in interest rate played a negative but highly significant role in investment decision in the economy. Demand for credit also had negative and significant influence on interest rate variations in both the short run and long run. Although, the study deduced that investment has an indirect relationship with interest rate variation, other variables such as debt income, real income, government spending, aggregate savings and money stock affects gross domestic investment. Improvement in these key macro-economic variables is a necessary condition towards facilitating investment in Nigeria. The researcher recommends inter alia that an essential prerequisite condition needed to promote corporate financial investments is for the government to formulate and implement policies that enhances investments.","PeriodicalId":180669,"journal":{"name":"International Business Management","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114244588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to empirically analyze the relationship between triple bottom accounting and the corporate profitability of selected oil companies in Nigeria. Specifically, this study intends to: ascertain the relationship between triple bottom line accounting and the corporate profitability of selected oil companies in Nigeria in respect to their Gross Profit Margin (GPM), Operating Margin (OM), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Investment (ROI). This study employed a time series data spanning years 2000-2018. The methodology adopted in this research is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method of regression analysis and quasi experimental research design. Other methods of data analysis such as the cointegration test, Error Correction Modeling (ECM), LM serial correlation test, augmented Dickey Fuller test and Breusch-Pagan-Godfrey heteroskedasticity test, respectively was used to analyze the test statistics. Secondary data garnered from journal publications, test books and annual financial reports various years of the selected oil companies constitutes the sources of the data used in the analysis of this study. The population of this study constitutes 100 registered oil companies in Nigeria stock exchange while the sample size consists of top10 oil companies in Nigeria which was selected using judgmental sampling technique. Multiple regression techniques and descriptive statistics and descriptive statistics were used in testing the hypothesis and analyzing the data, respectively. The study while employing various techniques of econometric analysis discovered the existence of a long-run relationship between triple bottom line accounting and corporate profitability. This implies that when companies are socially, environmentally and economically responsible to their host community or business environment, they stand the chance of enjoying an increase in profit and acceptance from their host communities. This study among others recommends the need for the host communities of firms, especially, oil companies and other stakeholders and well as governmental and non-governmental agencies to request for triple bottom line reports which meet their needs for information thus enabling them to be in a better position to hold companies to account for all the dimensions of triple bottom lines.","PeriodicalId":180669,"journal":{"name":"International Business Management","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133152306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We use the sub-indices (attitudes, abilities and aspirations) of the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) which measure the entrepreneurship ecosystem. The attitudes sub-index evaluate how competent individuals are to choose entrepreneurship rather than alternative occupations. The abilities sub-index measures the quality of new undertakings. The aspirations sub-index reflects the potential of start-ups to achieve internationalization, rapid growth and high productivity. Based on annual data from 2011-2018, we use a quantile regression model with fixed effects. We control for intellectual property and economic performance in addition to dummy variables that identify the particular impact on different regions. Our findings show a positive and heterogeneous effect of abilities on entrepreneur’s aspirations and also a positive impact of attitudes on aspirations but only in higher quantiles. These findings contribute to the debate and are useful for formulating policies involving entrepreneurship in different countries.","PeriodicalId":180669,"journal":{"name":"International Business Management","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115854096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
