Based on this perspective, this study analyses the “Double Focus” teaching mode implementation that combined business knowledge with English language skills. This is implemented in a Business English course at higher vocational college to enable talent cultivation focus to shift to the internalization of business knowledge while continuing to improve English proficiency. The “Double Focus” teaching strategy adapted authentic business tasks simulation and practice from actual Foreign Reception Training Course like airport pick-up task via a plan, do, check, action (PDCA) approach. This study found that the integrative element promoted better association between language and business knowledge, raise awareness of using English in situational contexts and foster effective internalization of content knowledge among students. The objective of the study is to investigate how language learning strategies in writing lessons adopted by the students develop their higher order thinking skills in the CPBL ESL writing classroom. This study further explored the language learning strategies that students adopted in order to complete writing tasks which require them to exercise their higher order thinking skills. The study was conducted on 13 secondary level form 4 students from an urban school where the collection of data was via structured reflective journal and teacher interviews. The study revealed that the language learning strategies in writing that developed higher order thinking skills within the students were cognitive and compensation strategies while the indirect strategies are cognitive and social strategies. These language learning strategies in writing developed the higher order thinking skills of analysing, evaluating and creating. The aims of the study are: to understandVocational High School students’ English competence and to understand the effect of ScaffoldingTehnique on Improving English Communicative competence for Vocational High School. This researchused descriptive qualitative method. The study used a pre-test, post-test to know the result of the study:the researcher tested the participants orally as the pre-test and post-test of study. In this research, thepopulation of the research is the first grade of Citra Medika Vocational High School. There were 2classes and there were 54 students and all the students are the population of the research. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosilogi sastraGramsci yakni hegemoni untuk menjawab permsalahan yang dikaji. Konsep Gramscitentang sastra bahwa sastra merupakan situs konstetasi dan negosiasi ideologi. Dalamproses kontestasi dan negosiasi, sastra dapat mempertahankan atau meruntuhkan tatananlama. Kaum intelektual memiliki peranan untuk mengakomodir baik kelompok penguasamaupun subaltern. Kelompok intelektual terdiri atas organik dan tradisional. Intelektualorganik memiliki fungsi meruntuhkan tatanan lama sedangkan intlektual tradisional adalahkelompok yang tidak melakukan fungsi intelektual. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini,peneliti menemukan bahwa konstetasi ideologi terjadi antara konservatisme vskolonialisme, konservatisme vs kapitalisme. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan penolakanEzeulu terhadap kehadiran orang-orang kulit putih serta ketidaksediaan orang-orangUmuora untuk menerima permintaan orang kulit putih. Selanjutnya, ideologi yang ingindinegosiasikan dalam novel Arrow of God adalah konservatisme-religius. Ideologi tersebutdianggap sebagai alternative bagi orang-orang yang tetap menjaga nilai-nilai namun tidakmengingkari realitas tentang kemajuan peradaban manusia.
