This paper describes the circuit configuration and principal techniques to reduce volume, weight and power consumption for these detachable mobile radio units. This paper outlines a system design utilizing a multi-beam coverage plan to meet the broad design objectives of efficient channel usage and flexible system configuration. Call routing, sharing of traffic loads amongst beams, interconnection, billing issues, and management of mobile units are discussed. The FSK system uses a Gaussian premodulation filter set at one half the bit Pate. Deviation is set at 0.41 times the bit rate. The FSK receiver has an IF bandwidth of 1.0 times the bit rate and uses discriminator detection. The GMSK system uses coherent detection. Data is presented on the effect of premodulation cutoff frequency and receiver bandwidth on system sensitivity and spectral efficiency. From this data a relationship between channel spacing, frequency stability, IF bandwidth, and transmitter spectrum is derived. Performance measures include channel occupancy, reuse factor for the talk channels, calls cleared, average setup and failure times, and grade of service. This system is composed of; 1) three corner cubes are set on three reference points, and their co-ordinates are known previously. 2) the laser beam scanner, the laser beam receiver, the scanning angle measuring apparatus, and the micro-processor are set on the ground vehicle. 3) position and heading of vehicle are determined from the positioning informations of three reference points known previously, and the angle data of them measured using this system on the vehicle. Further, our experimental results using our proto-type experimental system are presented. Various cell splitting techniques have been proposed to avoid the co-channel and adjacent-channel interference caused by the reuse of radio channels in cellular radio systems. The two major cell splitting techniques, thus far, are the four-cell repetition pattern and the seven-cell repetition pattern in which the cells are split into six sectors of 60 degrees or three sectors of 120 degrees respectively. The method presented in this paper has advantages in several aspects. Two converter systems are now available for use in railway tractive units; (1) the voltage link converter using a pwm inverter as a machined-side unit; (2) the current link converter using a phase-sequence commutated inverter. A brief description of the modes of operation of the two inverter types is followed by a comparative evaluation of the technical characteristics important for railway applications and of the complexity and cost of the two converters. Both inverters are found to function satisfactorily, but the phase-sequence inverter has an advantage because it is less complex, more reliable and easier to protect.
