Marine organisms that have the most chemical conent are produced by marine invertebrates, followed by marine plants. Groups that include marine invertebrates include: sponges, bryozoans, cnidarians and tunicates. Soft coral, which is one of the marine invertebrates, has biological activities, such as antifungal, cytotoxic, antineoplastic, antimicrobial, HIV inhibitor and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to determine the  value of the soft coral extract Cespitularia sp. taken from Manado Bay by the Brine Shrimp Lethality Assay (BSLA) method. This toxicity test was carried out quantitatively by analyzing data based on the number of deaths caused by the test extract of Artemia sp. The results obtained based on data analysis namely the value of the soft coral extract Cespitularia sp. is 53.27 ppm, this means that the extract can be developed as an anticancer drug candidate due to below below to 1000 ppm. Soft coral Cespitularia sp. categorized as toxic based on the Meyer classification or moderately toxic based on the Tanamatayarat classification and very toxic based on the Clarkson classification.Keywords: Soft coral; Cespitularia sp.; Toxicity;","PeriodicalId":17792,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PESISIR DAN LAUT TROPIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84450735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to test antibacterial activity and prove the UV-preventing effectiveness of the AFBK 5c mushroom isolate ethyl acetate extract that is in conjunction with ascidia. This research was conducted for 1 month in two locations, namely for antibacterial testing conducted in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Marine Pharmaceuticals, FPIK and for anti-UV testing conducted at the Pharmaceutical Laboratory, FMIPA, UNSRAT. The results showed that; This type of fungus that has been extracted and used is a fungus with the isolate code AFBK 5c This mushroom is a fungus that is connected with sigilina sp type ascidia. The rough extract of ascidia symbiont mushrooms is obtained from the process of meseration using ethyl acetate, then antibacterial testing of S. aureus and E. coli test bacteria and showing results such as antibacterial activity with an average value in S. aureus 09.00 and E. coli 11.05 mm which shows that there is antibacterial activity of AFBK 5c fungus isolate against E. coli and S. aureus test bacteria so that it can be said that the symbiont fungus has the potential as an ingredient. manufacture of antibacterial drugs. Furthermore, anti-UV testing, and the results of testing anti-UV compounds using rough extracts of AFBK 5c fungus isolates can produce absorption in UV-B (λ 290-320 nm) and UV-A (λ 320-400 nm) so that it has the potential to be used as an anti-UV material.Keywords: Bioactive Compound, Ascidia, Meceration, Antibacterial, Anti-UV","PeriodicalId":17792,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PESISIR DAN LAUT TROPIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87896102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antioxidants are substances that can prevent or slow down cell damage caused by free radicals. This study aims to analyze how strong the antioxidant activity is in the body of asteroidea (Linckia laevigata) taken in Tongkaina waters, Bunaken District, Manado City. And this study found that the inhibition value of the ethanolic extract of Linckia laevigata had strong antioxidant activity where the extract increased and the concentration was 10 mg/L with an average value of 67,3 %, a concentration of 15 mg/L  of 67,8 %, a concentration of 20 mg/L of 68,8 % and the highest concentration of 25 mg/L getting an average value of 69 %. The increace in the percentage of inhibition and the ethanolic extract of Linckia laevigata, showed that the concentration of the extract contributed greatly to the ability of the extract to reduce free radicals. In this study, the DPPH test was carried out by observing the decrease in absorbance wavelength of 517 nm using UV-Vis spectrophotometer,where the decrease in absorbance value as a result and a decrease in color intensity. The specific target is the implementation of phytoremediation technology in shrimp aquaculture at the Marine Field Station owned by FPIK UNSRAT which will be developed into the North Sulawesi Marine Education Center (NSMEC) area. The long-term goals and specific targets above will support the leading areas of maritime and maritime affairs in the Unsrat Research Master Plan. Analysis of water quality parameters and shrimp growth response using controlled-scale phytoremediation technology was carried out to see the remediation ability of Eucheuma denticulatum seaweed. Research method using phytoremediation technology application on white shrimp cultivation in the form of demonstration plots. The average growth in the plots provided with seaweed ranged from 8.3 g to 8.4 g. While the control that was not stocked with seaweed, the average weight growth was 6.6 g. This figure shows quite different values for different treatments. Water quality parameters such as DO, pH showed better water quality conditions in the plots spread with seaweed. Microorganisms that have not been widely explored as a source of protease enzymes are bacteria that are in conjunction with Nudibranch. The study aims to identify the morphological characteristics of bacteria, then determine the hydrolysis ability of protease enzymes from bacteria symbiont Nudibranch. Identification of morphological characteristics is done macroscopic, and microscopic with gram staining. Proteolytic activity tests are performed qualitatively by measuring the proteolytic index of bacteria grown on Skim Milk Agar medium. The results of macroscopic identification of symbiotic bacteria with Nudibranch are dominated by irregular colony shapes, undulated edges, growth of the entire colony has a flat height, milky white colony color, buttery texture and opaque bacterial colonies. Based on microscopic identification, two gram-negative isolates are obtained, namely RL.S14, S1.1.1, and gram positive isolates, namely AK.S00, AK.S01, AK.S02, AK.S03, S.PP1, RL.S6, S2.1.5, S2.2.1, S3.3.1, S3.3.4, RL.S10.
