Hand sanitizers are currently sterile hand sanitizers, usually as an alternative to washing the skin surface with a cleanser and air. Washing hands and skin with hand sanitizer is an action to maintain hand and skin hygiene to avoid infection that causes microbes, for example Escherichia coli microorganisms. The purpose behind this examination is make liquid hand sanitizer preparations with lime (Citrus aurantifolia) and aloe vera (Aloe vera) extracts that can kill Escherichia coli bacteria. In this study, the pH of the preparation was measured, the pH was 5 and for determining the specific gravity, the specific gravity was 0.9736 g/ml. The test is carried out using the percentage kill method at two contact times, namely 30 and 60 seconds. The percentage kill results for liquid hand sanitizer with lime (Citrus aurantifolia) and aloe vera (Aloe vera) extracts at the two contact times, with a percentage kill value of 99.9%. Empirically, Sappan wood is often used as traditional medicine. To support the utilization of Sappan wood, the isolation and identification of active antioxidant compounds from the methanol extract of Sappan wood had been conducted from this study. Extraction was performed with maceration and evaporation methods. The spots of active antioxidant compounds in TLC-DPPH observations were isolated using liquid vacuum chromatography to obtain two pure compounds. The results of the LC-MS/MS identification of the two compounds, respectively, exhibited peak fragmentation of molecular ions at m/z 271.09, 257.15, 167.03, 151.06, 123.12, and 104.06 at the retention time of 6.35 minutes which were translated as Alpinetine and peak fragmentation of molecular ion at m/z 287.09, 177.06, 164.05, 123.04 and 110.04 at a retention time of 5.75. minutes which were translated as 3-Deoxysappanone B. Currently in society the use of medicinal plants as herbal treatment has increased. Elderly people often experience Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is inflammation of the synovial lining of the joints. One of the plants used by the community is red betel leaf (Piper crocatum). However, scientific information related to the potential of red betel as an anti-inflammatory in Rheumatoid Arthritis is still not widely known by the public. This study was conducted to explore the potential of P. crocatum leaves to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis which can be used as references regarding Rheumatoid Arthritis therapy. This study uses a narrative review method from previous studies that were collected related to the topic which was then discussed systematically. By using keywords in the search for Piper crocatum, anti-inflammatory activity, red betel bioactivity, secondary compounds in red betel leaf, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. P. crocatum leaves contain various bioactive compounds. Flavonoids have activity as primary and secondary antioxidants. Flavonoid compounds such as brazilien, brazilin, taxifolin, procyanidin found in red betel have anti-inflammatory activity in rheumatoid arthritis. Brazilin is one of the flavonoid compounds from P. crocatum leaves that has the potential as an anti-inflammatory in rheumatoid arthritis by regulating the transcription factor nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) for TNF- expression against inflammation.","PeriodicalId":17722,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Farmasi Sains dan Praktis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45901548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compliance with the use of oral antibiotics is one of the things that contributes to the inappropriate use of antibiotics. This study aims to analyze the effect of information booklet reminder media on adherence to short-term antibiotic use conducted in four puskesmas in the Surabaya area. Patients aged 19-50 years who were prescribed short-term antibiotics (<7 days) were included in this study. Patients were then grouped into two groups, namely the intervention group who was given an information booklet, and the control group. Compliance with the use of antibiotics was measured based on the calculation of the remaining antibiotics on the day the antibiotics ran out. A total of 192 people were recruited in this study, 96 people were in the intervention group and 96 people were in the control group. The results of measurement of adherence and analysis showed that 80.21% of patients in the intervention group were obedient in using their antibiotics, while patients in the control group were compliant with 60.42% (p-value 0.003). The activity and bioavailability of BDCQ derivatives as anticancer compounds that inhibit COX-2 can be predicted by computer programs and online servers. Substituents are added at positions 2 and 3 to the quinazoline-4(3H)-on ring, such as -H, -NO2, -OCH3, -N(CH3)2, -SO2NH2, -OH, and –OCH3. QSAR as COX-2 inhibitor analysis was performed by SPSS Ver. 21 software. Lipinski’s rule of five for determining bioavailability is performed by an online server at http://ilab.acdlabs.com. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there were many changes in regulation and management in Primary Health Center. Such a situation certainly has an impact on the drug management of Primary Health Center. The purpose of this study is to evaluate drug management in Salaman 1 Primary Health Center in Magelang District, Central Java Province, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This research is an evaluative study using a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. The data was obtained by three methods, i.e., direct observation, interview, and secondary data. Direct observation was applied to observe the medicines' storage space. Interviews were conducted with five informants selected purposively according to the research's purpose. The assessments of secondary data were performed from the available and relevant data documentations. Data were analyzed by triangulation approach of the three types of data produced, namely observation data, interview data, and secondary data assessment. The results show several problems regarding drug management in Salaman 1 PHC during the COVID-19 pandemic. The drug selection is not precisely suitable for the needs, while drug procurement cannot always be arranged according to the planning. Furthermore, drug distribution is relatively impeded. Control of use found the number of expired and almost expired drugs increases. Drug storage and documentation are the two steps in the drug management cycle conducted appropriately in Salaman 1 PHC during the COVID-19 pandemic. This evaluative study concludes that the COVID-19 pandemic affected the drug management cycle in Salaman 1 PHC in Magelang District in 2020. Therefore, coordination among stakeholders must be improved to anticipate unforeseen circumstances, especially during the pandemic situation. The impacts of new policy implementations must be anticipated by testing, monitoring, and evaluating.","PeriodicalId":17722,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Farmasi Sains dan Praktis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41956811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
