Electronic search engines and databases, namely, Scopus, OvidMedline, Google Scholar, and reference tracking were used. The search terms used were eating disorder examination-questionnaire, EDE-Q, psychometrics, reliability, validity, and utility. Studies were included if they conducted psychometric evaluations on the EDE-Q 6.0 (i.e., English version) or adapted EDE-Q 6.0. The PRISMA guideline was also applied in the selection of articles for review. Nineteen papers on EDE-Q, specifically on the sixth version were reviewed. EDE-Q 6.0 has been translated and adapted to various languages and psychometrically evaluated on Japanese, Portuguese, American, Finnish, French, Norwegian, British, Australian, Italian, Iranian, and German populations. EDE-Q 6.0 has recorded good to excellent internal reliability across languages and cultures. Mixtures of findings were found concerning its stability and validity. The factorial structure of EDE-Q 6.0 is very controversial with limited fitness into its initial theoretical four-factor structure. Nonetheless, EDE-Q 6.0 recorded high utility values. The EDE-Q 6.0 is yet to be adapted into Malay for the Malaysian population, hence, calls for further research on its adaptation and its psychometric properties. For children with severe or profound hearing loss, cochlear implant has become the best solution in improving and promoting spoken language, quality of life, self-esteem and social well-being. Standardized self-report questionnaires are considered as the most widely used and low-cost approach to measure spoken language development among children. We aimed to provide an overview of the questionnaires available for assessing the spoken language development among children with cochlear implant. In addition, factors that may influence the development of good spoken language were also reviewed. A literature search from January 2010 to December 2020 making use of the Science Direct and PubMed databases was conducted. Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and other key words for the search were (communication OR language) AND cochlear implant AND (children OR pediatric) AND (questionnaire OR survey). Research articles that were identified in the database using the keywords were refined by year. Only original articles were selected. Articles that quoted all the selected key words in the title and abstract; and written in English with full text were included in the review. Twelve instruments were utilized in the methodology of the 10 articles. Only one instrument was specific for spoken language assessment of children with cochlear implant. The age at which a child received an implant, good rehabilitation program and active involvement of parents was found to influence development of good spoken language skills among the cochlear implanted children. Cochlear implants provide deaf children with the opportunity to develop spoken language skills. Longer use of a cochlear implant dramatically affects the amount of spoken language. Rather, it was cochlear implantation at a younger age that served to assists spoken language competence. Weight gain is a side effect of concern as prolonged high dose therapy is common. We investigated the effects of 12-weeks loratadine therapy on weight, appetite and parameters of metabolic syndrome (MetS). A cohort study was performed involving CSU patients aged ≥18 years. Patients with diseases or on drugs affecting weight or appetite were excluded. CSU was treated according to standard management. Weight, height, waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure (BP), Urticaria Activity Score 7 (UAS7), Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), hunger and satiety questionnaire, fasting blood sugar (FBS) and fasting lipid profile (FLP) were obtained at baseline, week 6 and week 12. Loratadine cumulative dose were determined. Thirteen (33.33 %) males and 26 (66.67 %) females aged 33.00 (12.00) years participated. Median weight was 62.55 (18.30) kg, BMI 24.60 (6.80) kg/m2, 13(33.33%) patients had normal weight, 12 (30.77%) overweight, 11 (28.21%) obese and 3 (7.69%) underweight. Significant weight gain was observed at week 6, 67.56 ± 16.14 kg vs 68.16 ± 16.95 kg, p < 0.05 and 67.56 ± 16.14 kg vs 64.73 ± 14.60 kg, p = 0.04 at week 12. Changes in BMI, WC, BP, FBS and FLP were insignificant. Three patients developed MetS. Hunger and satiety scores were unaffected. Loratadine induced weight gain despite no effects on appetite. The WHO FCTC is a form of evidence-based agreement that recognises the right of all people to attain the highest standard of health. Policies established by the government were in line with the WHO requirements to gazette the nationwide smoking ban so that enforcement measures can be taken to control smoking activities in public places. The purpose of this scoping review is to give an overview of the extent of knowledge, attitude, and the perception of the public on smoking ban policies implemented in Malaysia. The keyword search strategy was as follows: smoking AND policy AND Malaysia AND (knowledge OR attitude OR perception) for publications between the year 2015-2021, conducted through several databases including Medline (search results of 5 publications), Web of Science (search results of 9 publications) and Scopus (search results of 19 publications). A total of 12 articles were considered relevant to answer the research objectives. We found that the level of knowledge, attitude, and perception of the public towards the smoking ban policy in Malaysia was still defective and inadequate. This approach was applied on a 15-year-old girl, who has dyslexia. She was found to have mild depression for one year that was precipitated by her poor relationship with her younger sibling. The intervention used in managing this case was adapted from the Siblings Are Special Module, a special programme that helps to alleviate anger and frustration that siblings had on each other. These 5 session interventions also included leisure activities that helped them to overcome their ongoing conflicts and were conducted over 3 months period. Parents were involved in the last 2 sessions in order to promote positive parenting. Besides nutrition information, other factors influence a purchase. This study aims to determine the association between the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) among tertiary students on nutrition and food labels. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 190 students from three tertiary institutions within Klang Valley completed an online survey. Self-administered questionnaires on sociodemographic profiles and KAP questions, available in Malay and English, were distributed. Association between KAP was determined using Spearman's Rho test, while multiple linear regression was used to assess predictors of KAP scores. Mean body mass index (BMI) of the respondents were 20.8 kg/m2. The total mean score for knowledge on food labels was 8.93, followed by attitude and practice with 3.86 and 3.11, respectively. There was a significant correlation between attitude and practice (p<0.005). Nutrient and total calorie information on food labels influenced purchases, with 56.3% of respondents reported looking at the total calorie content, followed by 55.7% and 49.5% checking on sugar and fats, respectively. In addition, other factors such as expiry date (60.9%) and price (59.9%) also influenced purchases. Overall, respondents have a positive attitude on food selection, but male respondents have better knowledge levels than females. However, female respondents interpret food labelling effectively compared to male respondents. Despite having good knowledge and attitude towards nutrition, respondents were still making poor choices. A more extensive range of healthier food options and targeted healthy eating campaigns may empower students to choose more nutritious foods. Strict fidelity measures consisting of procedural and structural elements must be adhered to when using it. These fidelity measures distinguish Ayres Sensory Integration® from other sensory-based interventions. This study involved the development of a survey instrument and outlined the challenges that Malaysian occupational therapists face when using Ayres sensory integration® (ASI). The questionnaire development involved the processes of assessing its validity and reliability. A total of 161 occupational therapists working in various healthcare settings responded to the survey by answering a self-administered questionnaire. The results identified eight themes or issues: (1) Inadequate Training, (2) Resource Issues, (3) Physical Constraints, (4) Time Constraints, (5) Limited Information/ Support Provided By Family, (6) Limited Support From Management, (7) Limited Information/Support Provided By Suppliers, and (8) Issues in Implementing Evidence-Based Practice. Application of immunonutrition (IN) in experimental animal models and chronic wound patients has shown promising and improved wound healing processes. IN restores the supply of essential nutrients that are critical for cell growth and tissue repair in the wounded subjects. Several commonly found nutrients in IN formulations include polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), essential amino acids, trace elements such as zinc and vitamins. Recently, some studies suggested the use of traditionally used herbs like curcumin in IN recipes due to its efficient wound healing properties. The roles and functions of IN in wound healing encompass recruitment of white blood cells, platelets and fibroblasts into the wounded area during the coagulation and inflammation phases, enhancement of fibroblast proliferation, collagen synthesis and neovascularization in the proliferation phase; and lastly, regulation of tissue re-epithelization for wound closure and recovery. In this review, the roles and functions of individual nutrients were deliberately discussed alongside their mechanisms of action in wound healing. This aims to provide a more holistic insight into the potentials of those nutrients when used as part of IN for major wound patients. Despite its remarkable effects in wound healing, several criteria should be considered in an IN formulation: the type and severity of wounds, administration timing and mode of administration, and concoction of immune-boosting nutrients in order to ensure the optimal wound healing effects.
