The application of theoretical and empirical research methods allowed analyzing the features of medical and sanitary provision of diving operations in the Arctic.Results and their discussion. Studies have shown that the peculiarities of medical and sanitary provision of diving operations in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation are associated with the prevention and treatment of hypothermia and decompression sickness in divers, including the use of heated oxygen-helium mixtures for breathing. To solve this problem, evacuation of injured divers with the help of transportation pressure chambers and special mobile diving complexes are also used to provide qualified and specialized assistance in Arctic conditions.","PeriodicalId":175902,"journal":{"name":"Marine Medicine","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130030529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initial resistance to adverse factors of hyperbaria was assessed in all subjects. To determine the state of kidney function, oral stress renal tests were performed under the influence of hypoxia, hyperoxia, toxic nitrogen concentrations and decompression gas formation.Results and their discussion. Changes in kidney function and water-electrolyte metabolism occurring under the action of hyperbaria factors are largely determined by hormonal mechanisms implemented through the renin — angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Under the action of hypoxia, hyperoxia, toxic nitrogen concentrations and decompression gas formation on unstable subjects, the vector of changes in the activity of RAAS will mainly be directed towards increasing the secretion of antidiuretic hormone and aldosterone.","PeriodicalId":175902,"journal":{"name":"Marine Medicine","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116958189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The expediency of using «soft» (1.3–2.0 attacks, 40–60 min) HBO modes in SARS-CoV-2-associated pneumonia is substantiated. Several possible mechanisms of elimination of HBO2 violation of lung gas exchange function in SARS-CoV-2-associated pneumonia are considered. Firstly, hyperoxic stimulation of diaphragm contraction. Secondly, the inhibitory effect of HBO2 on the development of interstitial and alveolar edema in the lungs. Thirdly, elimination of HBO2 stimulating effect of thrombin and fibrinogen on contractility of pulmonary capillary endotheliocytes. Fourth, regulation of HBO2 metabolism of fibronectin, thromboplastin, von Willibrant factors, and platelet activation factor in the wall of pulmonary capillaries. As a result, its thrombogenic activity increases in this pathology.","PeriodicalId":175902,"journal":{"name":"Marine Medicine","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126198970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In his opinion, the reason for the high morbidity and mortality on the ships of the Russian Fleet were damp, insufficiently ventilated rooms, inadequate food, substandard drinking water, dirty linen and clothing of sailors (due to the inability to wash), lack of fresh vegetables, as well as tedious ship work and the sad disposition of the crew. Admiral I. F. Such a unit was created in 1928 on the initiative of the People’s Commissar of Defense M. N. Tukhachevsky. For 80 years of its interaction with the test site, up to 2008, it made a significant contribution to increasing the combat power of the domestic land and naval artillery. Despite the wide range of experimental studies and the large volume of tasks facing this unit, its employees have always been distinguished by the highest level of professionalism, innate military intelligence, and exemplary responsibility for the execution of the task assigned to them. For such an approach to the profession, the test site testers have always treated colleagues in medical uniforms with great respect. Currently, the role of the Military Medical Academy is named after S. M. Kirov in the development of the world and domestic medical science, as well as in the creation of scientific medical schools. Despite the fact that the Department of Dentistry at the Military Medical Academy was formed in 1929, the influence of the Academy on the development of domestic dentistry can be traced throughout the entire period of its existence. However, not all historical moments of the formation and development of military dentistry are known to a wide range of specialists.The purpose of the study was to highlight the merits of the marine doctor, doctor of medicine, privat-docent P. F. Fedorov, pointing out his role in the formation and development of dentistry in our country.Material and methods. Based on the analysis of domestic literature, as well as the life, professional activities, and scientific works of the doctor of medicine, privat-docent P. F. Fedorov, his role in the formation and development of dentistry in Russia is presented.Results and discussion. The main milestones in the life, professional medical, and pedagogical activities of the marine doctor P. F. Fedorov from the moment he entered the Imperial Medical-Surgical Academy (1876) until his appointment to the active fleet in connection with the outbreak of the First World War (1914). Particular attention is paid to the activities of P. F. Fedorov as a private assistant professor for dental diseases of the Imperial Military Medical Academy, where he headed the course on dental diseases for 22 years. It is noted that the assistant professor of dental diseases at the Imperial Military Medical Academy was a kind of prototype for the future department of maxillofacial surgery and stomatology of the Military Medical Academy. Conclusion. Marine doctor privat-docent P. F. Fedorov was one of the founders of a new specialty — dentistry (military and practical), as he stood at its origins.","PeriodicalId":175902,"journal":{"name":"Marine Medicine","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131550387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
