Considering today's customers personality and feelings, more and more emphasis must be placed upon fashion. It seems like a system of small lot with variety in short term production must be taken as an important matter because of the novelty, scarcity and brief span of goods life. It is recognized that quite a lot of sample making machines and small lot productive machines were displayed in the 4th OTEMAS emphasizing a trend in the era. Hereafter with regard to designing and manufacturing, it must be done rapidly, precisely and inexpensively by means of computer or other updated high technological devices. Thus, much more efforts in developing devices and systems in this field are highly expected.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88633582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An interlacer enlarged similarly to a real interlacer has been manufactured on the basis that the flow fields in two similar interlacers in geometry are also similar in dynamics. In this manner detailed measurements can be made and data with high accuracy can be obtained. Results are as follows.(1) With regard to the axial direction of the yarn duct, the pressure hs takes a maximum value in the neighborhood of Z=0 and a minimum in the neighborhood of |Z| =1, where Z is the axial distance from the center of the air jet nozzle non-dimensionalyzed by the diameter of the yarn path.The value of hs gradually increases with |Z|, and is identical with the atomospheric pressure at |Z| = 2. The above-mentioned tendency is independent of θ and p in the present experiment, where θ is the circumferential angle in the yarn duct from the center of the air jet nozzle and p is the air pressure in a rectification tank.(2) The variation of hs with respect to θ depends upon Z. In Z=0 the value of hs is extremely large at θ=180° and reaches a minimum in the vicinity of θ =90, 270°. In Z=1 it shows a considerably small variation, and a minus value in many regions. In Z=2 it is almost constant and nearly equal to the atomospheric pressure.(3) Comparing with p, the value of hs is almost equal to the atomospheric pressure in many parts of the surface of the yarn duct.(4) The air jetting from the air jet nozzle radially spreads after running against the wall opposite to the air jet nozzle. The air with a circumferential component of flow velocity flows along the curved wall, and two eddies which are symmetric with respect to the plane through θ =0 and 180° and rotate in opposite directions to each other are formed. With increasing |Z|, the circumferential component of flow velocity reduces and the axial component is dominant. The main flow moves from the periphery of the yarn path to its center.With regard to the circumferential direction of the yarn path, the flow is biased toward the semicircular region nearer to θ =180°.(5) The present experiment shows that the air flow pattern in a yarn path is independent of p.(6) It is considered, that the air jet causes opening and tangling actions of a yarn at the region (|Z|<1/2) where the jet directly runs against a yarn, and a yarn motion similar to a rotation at the region (|Z|<1) where the circumferential component of flow velocity is relatively dominant. (7) The influence of errors in manufacturing interlacers appears noticeably in the flow field in a yarn path.These errors are considered to cause various characteristics to yarns even when the processing conditions are the same in every interlacer.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1989-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85954803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, it was shown that a robot hand to handle pieces of cloth was manufactured for trial and plural functions of the hand was studied experimentally. The results obtained were as follows. (1) The robot hand was able to separate a piece of cloth (about 0.5mm in thickness) from a stack of pieces of cloth. (2) The output signal from the strain gauge of the hand considered to be nearly in proportion to the thickness of pieces of cloth (0.1mm N 3.0mm in thickness, under a pressure of 2.5N/cm2) held by the hand and by the signal, it was possible to distinguish thickness of the pieces of cloth. (3) The tension of a piece of cloth could be controlled between 0.09 N 0.12N by the arm and the hand.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1989-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84768070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first case was the non-equilibrium condition which was applied to the students.The second case was the equilibrium condition which was applied to the adults.Main results were as follows.(1) The distribution of obtaining clothes was provided to be Poisson distribution.(2) In the non-equilibrium condition, an equation to express the number of possessed clothes which varied in years, was introduced. All characteristic values in this equation were calculated from the surveyed data. By means of the statistic test, it was proved that this equation was appropritate to some surveyed data.(3) By using obtained values and equations, the number of possessed clothes in some years after was forecast.(4) In the equilibrium condition, the equation was obtained as a special case of non-equilibrium condition. As the application of the results, the life span of the clothes was introduced.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1989-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81062057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The knitting defects due to the knots are caused by end breakages in the 1×1 rib knitting zone which almost lead to holes in knitted fabrics. This end breakage occurs near the knot on the take-down side. When the depth of stitch draw, the input tension, the take-down weight and the step length of cam are increased or when the cam angle is decreased, the end breakage rate in the 1×1 rib knitting zone increases.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1989-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83171918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the operation of hands is a delicate for the beginners, they need an apt training curved line. This study developed five sorts of exponential curved lines which resemble the pattern of sleeve top, and investigated about the sewing ability of female students using them.The results were summarized as follows.1) The miss score-The sewing velocity diagrams were drawn from the experimental results.2) It was found from the above diagrams that the sewing velocity of experts at sewing when they sewed sharp curved lines (9cm, 12cm, 15cm wave height) by elctric sewing machine were much the same as foot pedal sewing machine's.3) Unskilled students sewed sharp curved lines fast. Therefore they were tired very much and their miss scores were increased.4) To practice the sewing using a gentle curved line (3cm wave height) have much effect on unskilled adult women.","PeriodicalId":17585,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1989-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78858527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
