When students do not have high self-esteem or are unaware of what is expected from them, teachers should pay more attention to motivate and engage them. Otherwise, they may demonstrate challenging behavior other than an academic task to obtain teachers' and peers’ attention. Therefore, especially for students with special needs, effective strategies should be considered to keep their attention and engage them in academic and social learning environments. The aim of this study to examine the classroom implementations of special educators to enhance the engagement of students with special needs in learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research design by involving one special education classroom with ten students who have developmental disabilities and one headteacher and one paraprofessional in the classroom. Oz duzenleme becerileri cocuklarin okula hazir oluslari, gelecekteki akademik basarisi ve sosyal yeterligi uzerinde kritik bir rol oynamaktadir. Cocuklara bu becerilerin kazandirilmasinda ise, okul oncesi ogretmenlerine onemli sorumluluklar dusmektedir. Bu nedenle bu arastirmada, okul oncesi ogretmenlerinin oz duzenlemeyi desteklemek icin yuruttukleri uygulamalarin belirlenmesi ve bu uygulamalar hakkinda goruslerinin incelenmesi amaclanmistir. Arastirmada nitel arastirma yontemlerinden sistematik gozlem ve gorusme teknigi kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin calisma grubunu 10 okul oncesi ogretmeni olusturmaktadir. Arastirmada veri toplamak amaciyla, arastirmacilar tarafindan hazirlanan “Demografik Bilgi Formu”, “Yari Yapilandirilmis Gorusme Formu” ve “Oz Duzenleme Becerilerini Destekleme Gozlem Formu” kullanilmistir. Gozlem verileri siklik kaydi ile gorusme verileri ise icerik analizi ile analiz edilmistir. Arastirma bulgularina gore, siniflarda pekistirme, rutin olusturma, sinif kurallari ve rutinleri ogretme, geri bildirimler sunma ve olumlu geri bildirimleri duzeltici geri bildirimlerden daha sik kullanma, akran aracili ogrenmeyi kullanma, secenek sunma, rol dagilimi yapma ve kolaylastiricilar kullanma stratejilerinin ogretmenlerin cogu tarafindan kullanildigi gorulmustur. Buna karsin, etkinlik cizelgeleri kullanma, kendini talimatlandirma, amac koyma, kendini izleme, kendini kayit etme ve kendini pekistirme stratejilerinin ogretmenlerin bircogu tarafindan kullanilmadigi bulunmustur.
