The internal reinforcement signal for the reinforcement learning is generated by fuzzy inference, and dynamic recurrent neural networks are used as action generation module. We adopt the distributed genetic algorithms for the cooperative behavior emergence. We show the validity of the proposed learning and evolution algorithm by computer simulation.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication. Aircraft's rejected takeoff problem is taken as an example where a more sophisticated human-automation collaboration may be required. Upon an engine failure during the takeoff run, a pilot must decide whether to continue the takeoff or to abort it. Just a few seconds are allowable for identifying the situation, making decision, and applying appropriate controls. It is shown that the situation-adaptive trading control of authority is indispensable for attaining system safety under high time-criticality.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication. Our tool AMME analyses observed processes and automatically extracts a Petri net description of the task dependent decision structure (logical structure). This net is extended by goal setting structures (modelling) and executed (simulated process). The aim is functional equivalence between observed and simulated processes. Three modelling strategies, event-driven, parallel goal setting, and feedback controlled goal setting types, are presented.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication. From one perspective communication entails transmission of information from a sender to a receiver. Thus, there is information flow through a channel or medium which can result in receiver knowledge gain. In this perspective, communication is conceptualized as a flow. The second perspective suggests that the communication is a process of interaction. This process is composed of mainly symbolic exchanges serving to share the same meanings as well as to establish the consensus among us. Thirdly, the process of communication is highly determined by social relations and sometimes is intended to develop other new relationships. In this perspective, communication is conceived as relational. In this paper, several issues are treated primarily from the third perspective.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication. We first bring a serious critique of traditional interface types, showing their major drawbacks and limitations. Promising alternatives are offered by virtual (or immersive) reality (VR) and by augmented reality (AR). The AR design strategy enables humans to behave in a nearly natural way. Natural interaction means human actions in the real world with other humans and/or with real world objects. Guided by the basic constraints of natural interaction, we derive a set of recommendations for the next generation of user interfaces: the natural user interface (NUI). Our approach to NUIs is discussed in the form of a general framework followed by a prototype. The prototype tool builds on video-based interaction and supports construction and plant layout. A first empirical evaluation is briefly presented.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication. The robot is constructed with four crawler-roller-motor-units and a center-body. It is equipped with a crawler-roller running system. Each unit can be driven independently and the motion of the robot is controlled by the speed of motors. We also designed a position and velocity control system for the machine. The robot can be automatically controlled to run in optional directions and in any orbit. The efficiency of the mechanism and the autonomic running method have been verified by many practical running tests and computer simulations.","PeriodicalId":174564,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 6th IEEE International Workshop on Robot and Human Communication.
