The term is normally utilized in a clinical setting to portray investigations of such wonders by obtrusive (intracardiac) catheter recording of unconstrained movement just as of cardiovascular reactions to modified electrical incitement (PES), see Clinical heart electrophysiology. Heart electrophysiology likewise incorporates fundamental examination and translational exploration parts. Somebody who considers heart electrophysiology, either clinically or exclusively through examination, is known as a cardiovascular electro physiologist. An electrophysiology (EP) study is a test performed to survey your heart's electrical framework or movement and is utilized to analyse irregular pulses or arrhythmia. The test is performed by embedding catheters and afterward wires anodes, which measure electrical movement, through veins that enter the heart.","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80464867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: There has been presented treatment experience of 149 patients with cosmetic and post-traumatic changes of the breasts in the clinical base of the Department of Surgery, Endoscopy and Reconstructive Surgery of DNMU. The number of the patients treated for post-traumatic cicatricial deformity was 34 patients (22.8%) aged 7 to 62 years. There were 27 injured of them (79.4%) with the consequences of burns, 2 (5.9%) after the complications of cosmetic surgeries, 5 patients (14.7%) were operated on for the consequences of cancer treatment and three of them (8,8%) were hospitalized for radiation ulcers. The patients underwent 54 surgical interventions: Free autodermoplasty 13 (24.1%); local flaps grafting 14 (25.9%); combined plastic surgery and endoprosthetics 13 (24.1%); expander dermatotension 5 (9.3%); plastic surgery with complex composite flaps 9 (16.7%). Results: The article gives a historical overview of breast reconstructive operations and the classification of their post-traumatic injuries. Depending on the anatomy of cicatricial damage to the chest wall and the breast an algorithm for reconstructive mammoplasty is generalized. When performing surgical interventions in patients with the consequences of any type of the injury the main task was to eliminate scar-modified skin, correct the elevation of the breast, functional disorders such as contractures and make normal development of breast tissue possible. In any case, the operation is aimed at releasing the breasts from scars and creating the conditions for their normal development in adolescents, as well as restoring the shape, size and the appearance of already formed breasts in case of the patients’ late appointment with a doctor. When eliminating breast deformities in women of mature age it is often rational to separate the nipple-areolar complex from cicatricial tissue and transpose it to its usual location. Conclusion: Good cosmetic results, stable restoration of the shape, position and the skin of the breasts deformed by scars were obtained during all surveys. Reconstructive operations contribute to a significant regression of psychological and social disorders in patients with cicatricial deformities after a burn injury, and therefore they improve their overall rehabilitation result. If it’s possible surgical treatment of cicatricial deformities of the anterior surface of the chest wall should be started before breast development in adolescent girls and they should be followed-up.","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75349678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence and possible causes of recirculation in those patients. The study was a cross sectional one carried in the department of Nephrology, Ain Shams University Hospitals. A total of 100 end stage renal disease patients with arterio-venous fistula who were on HD for more than 3 months were purposively selected. The degree of recirculation was measured with urea based two needle technique method. For each patient distances between arterial and venous and distances of needles from fistula and its directions were recorded. Echocardiography and A-V fistula Colour Doppler Ultrasound were also performed for patients with high degree recirculation percent (more than 10%). The prevalence of A-V fistula recirculation was 55% with a range 0-66%. The most common factors were close proximity and improper arterial and venous needles placement. No difference was observed between diabetic and non- diabetic also between hypertensive and normotensive. A-V fistula recirculation is common occurrence in HD patients and the most common factors of recirculation are misplacement and close proximity of needles therefore emphasis should be given on education and training of HD staffs","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78127078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Early identification and correct management of patients at risk of developing DVT improves their health. Objectives: The study sought to determine the risk factors and socio-demographic profiles of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) of patients referred for Doppler ultrasound imaging at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital (DGMAH). Methods: A cross sectional descriptive study was used to determine the risk factors and associated demographic profiles of DVT among patients referred for Doppler ultrasound imaging at DGMAH. The study used quantitative methods. A total of 135 patients participated. Patients completed a structured questionnaire to assess risk factors of DVT. They were then assessed for DVT using an ultrasound scan and results were documented. The information from the questionnaires and results was coded and entered into a computer using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. Data analysis was then conducted. Results: Of the 135 patients who were referred to the radiology department for ultrasound scanning of lower limbs between January and June 2019, 42 patients (31%) were diagnosed with DVT. Prolonged bed rest (p=0.037) and history of having recently completed TB treatment (p=0.042) were associated with development of DVT. Conclusion: Prolonged immobility and recent completion of TB treatment were associated with increased risk of developing DVT. There is need to screen these patients for DVT early and institute DVT protocols.","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86246866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Radiologists and physicians experience heavy daily workloads thus are at high risk for burn-out. To alleviate this burden, this literature review compares the performance of four different AI models in lung nodule cancer detection, as well as their performance to physicians/radiologists. Methods: 648 articles were extracted from 2008 to 2019. 4/648 articles were selected. Inclusion criteria: 18-65 years old, CT chest scans, lung nodule, lung cancer, deep learning, ensemble and classic methods. Exclusion criteria: age greater than 65 years old, PET hybrid scans, CXR and genomics. Outcomes analysis: Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, sensitivity-specificity ROC curve, Area under the curve (AUC). Data bases: PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane library, Google Scholar, Web of science, IEEEXplore, DBLP. Conclusion: Hybrid Deep-learning architecture is state-of-the-art architecture, with a high-performance accuracy and low false-positive reports. Future studies, comparing each model accuracy in depth, would be valuable. Automated physician-assist systems such as this hybrid architecture, may help preserve a high-quality doctor-patient relationship and reduce physician burn out.","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74599642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Temporary solitaire stent-assisted coiling technique is used for treating wide neck aneurysms with the advantage of non-requirement of antiplatelet therapy to prevent in-stent thrombosis. We present a case series comprising of three case reports that were treated with temporary Solitaire stent-assisted coil embolization technique using a fully resheathable solitaire AB stent. The post-procedural angiographic and clinical outcome, including the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score, was assessed. The Modified Rankin Score (mRS) was evaluated after clinical discharge and follow-ups. No procedure-related complications were observed. All three patients had good clinical outcomes (mRS score 0-2). The feasibility, safety, and efficacy of the Temporary solitaire stent-assisted coiling technique are much superior. It is easy, less risky, and does not require platelet inhibition therapy.","PeriodicalId":17397,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82520178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
