The welder and robot loads may have different currents and duty cycles and connect at different points on a distribution network, not necessarily radial. No lumping of welder loads is required. Regular loads such as motor loads and other process loads can also be represented simultaneously. The method can be easily extended to single-phase welders, i.e. for a three-phase distribution system analysis.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":171461,"journal":{"name":"Conference on Industrial and Commercial Power Systems","volume":"123 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129551302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that low-loss utility capacitors increase the surge magnitude by decreasing system damping. Surge magnification is possible at lower voltage buses from the capacitor buses. The three conditions for magnification are described. It is shown that drive sensitivity to the surge depends on whether the drive filter inductor is saturated by the surge.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":171461,"journal":{"name":"Conference on Industrial and Commercial Power Systems","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132054701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this system is to reduce transients, torsional forces, inrush currents, and motor stress while maintaining continuous motor operation when the primary utility source experiences an interruption and operating facility transfers the motor load to an alternative source of electrical supply. The engineering studies, application considerations, motor control design requirements, and installation and operation of the automated bus transfer controller are discussed. The bus transfer methods are reviewed. The effectiveness of these methods using typical buses is discussed. The influence of bus voltage and phase angle characteristics during bus transfer for determining the best transfer technique is analyzed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":171461,"journal":{"name":"Conference on Industrial and Commercial Power Systems","volume":"322 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115258005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
