Stellar and asteroid pixel coordinates were calculated by varying the photo center position, background, and flux values for the PSF (point spread function) based on the analysis of the stellar images. The stars within the 4-arcmin asteroid-centered ring were not involved in the astrometric calibration. These stars were used for the asteroid systematic correction calculation. As a result, the internal accuracy of asteroid positions was better than 0.1 arcsec. The estimation of the mean position and the apparent rate components were performed for each set of CCD frames. Finally, the typical accuracy of the coordinates reached values of 0.024 – 0.088 arcsec. In addition, the numerical integration of the asteroid motion was made by varying the components of the state vector and A2-parameter (Yarkovsky acceleration). The unexpected and statistically insignificant A2 value for the 2007 UM12 has been found. It can be explained by the low quality of the data related to the first approach of this asteroid to the Earth and/or the tidal effects that changed the rotational state of the asteroid. The value A2 = (8.1 ± 6.4) · 10−14 a.u. per day2 on the significance boundary has been calculated for 2005 XY7 asteroid. This value does not contradict well-known data for the same size asteroids.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"29 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138989117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Daily predictions of the Earth's Pole coordinates and Universal Time were considered. In total, 6021 SSTF predictions and 5684 IERS predictions were processed. The change in median and maximum errors over time for prediction lengths of 1, 3, 7, 15 and 30 days was studied. As a result, it turned out that over the past 16 years there has not been a general steady trend towards a decrease in the error of ERP predictions in both centers, although such a decrease is clearly noticeable for certain types and lengths of the prediction. Moreover, in some cases, there is a tendency to worsen the accuracy of the prediction, especially for the maximum error of short-term predictions of Universal Time.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"9 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138992662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, for the first time, the most significant periodic terms of the geodetic rotation of these celestial bodies relative to: a) the barycenter of the Solar system and the plane of the mean orbit of Jupiter of the epoch J2000.0 in the Euler angles, in the disturbing terms of the physical libration and in the absolute magnitude of the angular rotation vector of the geodetic rotation of the body under study; b) (with the exception of Jupiter) the barycenter of the Jupiter satellite system and the mean orbit of the studied satellite of the epoch J2000.0 in the disturbing terms of the physical libration and in the absolute magnitude of the angular rotation vector of the geodetic rotation of the body under study. It is shown that the use of Way II in this study, which uses the numerical integration procedure, is more preferable, and the values of the geodetic nutation terms obtained by this way are more accurate. The accuracy level of calculating the parameters (obtained by Way II) for the geodetic nutation values of the studied celestial bodies was 0.1 microarcseconds. The obtained analytical values of geodetic nutation of the studied celestial bodies can be used for numerical investigation of the rotation of these bodies in the relativistic approximation.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"125 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139016556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The two main theories about the nature of the spiral structure (density waves and the theory of dynamical spirals) give different answers to this question. There is a number of evidence in favor of both of them, while convincingly confirming which of them is correct from observations is an extremely non-trivial task. In this paper, using the analysis of the collected sample of corotation radii, we found two spiral galaxies NGC~3686 and M~100, which are expected to have a fundamentally different answer to the question considered. In the first galaxy, a quasi-stationary density wave is clearly detected, and in the second case, the spirals are of a dynamic nature. We validate our analysis independently with model, kinematic, morphological and metallicity distribution analysis. For the first time, such a large number of independent observational evidence collected and convincingly shows that both theories can be valid in real objects.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129895537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been established that such events can lead to significant changes in the asteroid's own rotation velocity and the orientation of its rotation axis in space. The dependences of the change in the period of rotation of the asteroid on the parameters of the orbit and its rotational state before approaching the Earth are studied. It is shown that disturbances in the rotational motion of an asteroid that occur during approaches significantly affect its further orbital dynamics by changing the magnitude of the Yarkovsky effect.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115337750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The observation was made with the one-meter reflector telescope. Simultaneously, the asteroid 87 Sylvia was surveyed using the MTM-500M telescope located at the GAO RAS Mountain Astronomical Station where a visible close approach was observed. Based on this example, the article discusses the possibility of improving the accuracy of ground based astrometric observations and obtaining «instantaneous» parallaxes to refine the ephemeris by means of baseline observations of the occultations and the apparent close approaches. The paper demonstrates that the method allows to obtain the coordinate accuracy of the order of 0.010 arcsec, which in this case gives a parallax of the asteroid with the accuracy of 0\".03 arcsec. Comparison with the existing ephemerides showed a high degree of convergence.","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129817278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The orbits of 45 globular clusters in the central galactic region with a radius of 3.5 kpc have been analyzed by spectral dynamics methods in order to identify objects captured by the bar. Since the parameters of the bar of the Milky Way are known with a very large uncertainty, orbits were constructed and their frequency analysis was carried out with varying the mass, length and angular velocity of rotation of the bar in a wide range of values with a fairly dense grid. The orbits were integrated 2.5 billion years backward. As a result, globular clusters supporting the bar were identified for each set of bar parameters. To form the 6D phase space required for orbit integration, we used the most accurate astrometric data from the Gaia satellite (Vasiliev and Baumgardt, 2021), as well as new refined average distances to globular clusters (Baumgardt and Vasiliev, 2021).","PeriodicalId":171274,"journal":{"name":"Publications of the Pulkovo Observatory","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133242145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that for some sources these magnitudes agree well, while other sources show significant disagreement. The disagreement is mostly observed for extended Galaxies for which different image processing procedure is usually applied on ground-based and Gaia telescopes.
