This paper studies two backward-compatible channel access approaches to satisfy the strict quality of service (QoS) requirements of RTA on the transmission latency and packet loss rate that have been considered in the 802.11be Task Group. The first approach is based on limiting the transmission duration of non-RTA frames in the network. The second approach is based on preliminary channel access to ensure the timely delivery of RTA frames. With the developed mathematical model of these approaches, it is shown that both of them can satisfy the RTA QoS requirements. At the same time, the preliminary channel access provides up to 60% higher efficiency of the channel usage by the non-RTA traffic in scenarios with very strict RTA QoS requirements or with low intensity of the RTA traffic.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114598386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also improve the management of network resources, applications and users. In this work, simulation models for the automotive network based on MEC and SDN technologies were developed, on the basis of which their positive impact on the automotive network was investigated and proved. The architecture of the automobile network was developed and its functional components were described in detail. In the results, simulation models were developed: the first experiment demonstrated a model showing the positive effect of Edge and Fog Computing on the load of the network core; a second experiment demonstrated the positive effect of SDN in load balancing between BS and RSU roadside units.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115118719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, the newly standardized New Radio (NR) technology offers the support of both ultra-reliable low-latency (URLLC) service and conventional enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) service. Owning to extreme latency and reliability requirements, URLLC service needs to be provided an explicit prioritization. We consider the simultaneous support of these two services in an industrial environment, where manufacturing machinery utilizes URLLC service for motion control and synchronous operation while eMBB service is used for remote monitoring. By utilizing the tools of stochastic geometry and queuing theory, we formalize the model with preemptive priority service at NR base stations (BS). The considered key performance indicator is the density of NR BS. Our numerical results indicate that the proposed approach does provide perfect isolation for URLLC traffic even in a dynamically changing environment and the required reliability level for a given load may indeed be attained by the proper selection of NR BS density and NR BS antenna arrays.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132047977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this period of time several major and minor amendments has been made to this standard. The main of them that define new physical and MAC layers are: IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11ax. In order to provide standard development, almost every amendment included backward compatibility mechanisms. But the other side of such compatibility is the fact that MAC layer of modern WLANs is sometimes overburdened by protection mechanisms included and cannot be as efficient as it had been designed to be. With the adoption of the latest standard amendment IEEE 802.11ax in 2020 the task of throughput estimation in cell with different client mix has now become more complex. In order to provide this problem with good parameter values and in order to estimate when the new standard support will become massive, we have made a review of different WLANs. The paper provides the analysis of IEEE 802.11 amendments and frequency band support in different practical scenarios.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127048260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart cities will enable various applications and introduce many market innovations. However, the dramatic increase in wireless devices and network traffic puts many constraints in designing such networks. To this end, we provide to develop a reliable smart city system that enables various heterogeneous applications and provides the communication infrastructure for the expected enormous number of wireless devices. The proposed system is scalable so that the increase in network traffic will be supported with no degradation in network performances. The system deploys edge computing servers and artificial intelligence. In this study, we simulated a model for the structure of a smart city based on heterogeneous edge computing and defined evaluation parameters. Finally, according to the analysis of the results will be developed a prototype for the practical implementation of the selected method using a specific example is based on a neural network algorithm to generate forecasts of Internet of Things traffic activity.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130657606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This parameter is heavily impacted by the continuously changing propagation conditions between the ED and the base station. In this paper, to extend the ED lifetime, we consider equipping a single ED with multiple low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) technologies to dynamically select the one with lower energy consumption. To facilitate this process, we propose to employ reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms. Assessing the resultant performance, we conduct two large-scale measurement campaigns that characterize the ED power consumption and the time-dependent propagation conditions for NB-IoT, Sigfox, and LoRaWAN technologies. Our numerical results demonstrate that the designed schemes effectively reduce ED power consumption by timely reacting to the varying radio conditions. Consequently, the ED lifetime expectancy is prolonged by around 10%. For instance, the Thompson sampling technique delivers the most consistent results by outperforming its counterparts and allowing to exploit up to 99% of the theoretical gains while converging over only 25-50 samples.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134455769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is important for the evaluation of maximum performance as well as the determination of approaches to hyper-convergent infrastructure scaling. Due to the complexity of the infrastructure and a large number of components, the assessment is now usually done on an experimental basis, with the addition of new components if necessary. Due to the research, it is possible to improve the accuracy of initial planning as well as to make the system scaling more predictable.","PeriodicalId":170847,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130934327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
