Imaging systems are necessary to prevent and reduce the problem. Various imaging systems still have an issue in safety due to radiation effects for the human body. One of imaging technology that can be used to overcome the shortage of existing technologies is Terahertz imaging techniques. Terahertz imaging can be more effective in diagnosing cancer for soft tissue because it can provide spatial and spectral information simultaneously. Therefore, proper antenna design is needed to get the desired image quality. This paper study the effects of an antenna radiation beamwidth to provide cancer imaging. The method used in this simulation is the translation scanning method with transmitter and receiver antenna at a distance of 7.5 mm. The RCWA is one of the most commonly used numerical analysis method for the perfectly periodic structures in optics. The target is to allow vertical roaming between the X and Ku band applications. As a first step, we performed a parametric study of different etched slot geometries namely, H-Slotted, T-Slotted, and U-Slotted DGS in order to examine the effects of altering different geometrical parameters of the unit on its response. H-Slotted DGS shows the highest FBW with 82.89% on the average compared to other geometries. As a second step, the cell size and the numbers of the H-Slotted DGS were optimized with the use of finite element method with the following constraints taken into consideration: low cost fabrication, high Q-Factor, compact size and easy integration. One of the designs was chosen for fabrication to validate the designed circuit. The measured results show that our optimized filter achieves an insertion loss of 2.01 dB at 8.5 GHz, a return loss higher than 11 dB and fractional bandwidth of 90.87% for a single cell and a fractional bandwidth of 80.05% for multiple cells. The problem to maintain the blood glucose levels is we need to know how much the glucose already in blood. Therefore an equipment to detect blood glucose levels is important. Right now on the market blood glucose levels detection equipment is using a needle to prick the finger to take amount of blood. This is very painful experience for a lot of people; therefore a new method is needed to detecting blood glucose levels without put needle in the finger. In this paper we propose a millimeter wave antenna microstrip for non-invasive blood glucose detection. The system is based on the association of 2 transmitting (Tx) patches arrays and 2 receiving (Rx) single patches positioned symmetrically and close to each other to achieve polarization/pattern diversity. Thus, an isolation greater than 30 dB is achieved in the whole band between the Tx and Rx antennas in simulations and measurements. Moreover, a high gain of 6.3 dBi is obtained for the Tx antennas and a total efficiency, greater than 70 %, is provided for both Tx and Rx antennas. Design methodology based on the use of two lumped components inserted in the radiating element is presented. The optimized antenna is fabricated and assembled with electronic components and battery. A measurement is performed to assess radiation performance in anechoid chamber. The terminal has a total efficiency of −6dB and −4.5dB at respectively 433MHz and 868MHz with a dipolar radiation pattern. The design approach considering multi-port measurement within compact mm-Wave array elements is introduced and the precision design method including power divider without any power imbalance is discussed. Despite high dielectric loss tangent of FR-4 substrates, low loss feeding network can be achieved for both beam steering capability and high gain. Additionally, the design guidelines of power divider are investigated to suppress mutual coupling causing power imbalance between each port.
