Then,the thermodynamic analysis of celestine reduction was discussed. And the experiments of celestinecarbon-containing pellets used in rotary hearth furnace process were studied. The results showed that it is feasible to deal with celestine by rotary hearth furnace direct reduction process. When the temperature is 1 200 ℃,C /O is 0. 8 and holding times is 20 min,the conversion rate of SrSO4in celestine is above 95%,the utilization rate of Celestine is nearly 100%.
