Total 64 actinobacteria were isolated from various localities in Egypt and screened for their antifungal activity against the tested fungi. Out of 64 isolates, the identified Streptomyces canescens MH7 has a good antifungal activity and inhibits the growth of the tested fungi. This isolate was capable of producing glucanase, lipase, and amylase enzymes which are important hydrolytic enzyme in the lysis of the fungal cell wall. Several growth factors were optimized to maximize the production of antifungal metabolites. Streptomyces canescens MH7 had the best antifungal activity in starch casein broth media supplemented with starch as a carbon source, potassium nitrate as a nitrogen source, salinity of 3% (w/v), pH8, incubation temperature at 30°C, incubation for 7 days, and shaking at 180 rpm.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84391119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chitosan was modified with bentonite or nano-bentonite to give chitosan composite and nanocomposite derivatives hydrogels I and II respectively, however chemical modification of chitosan with isonicotinic aldehyde via Schiff base formation in presence of bentonite or nanobentonite yielded chitosan composite and nanocomposite derivative hydrogels In and IIn respectively. The prepared hydrogels were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (X-Ray), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and swelling behavior. Adsorption studies for removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous media and the biological activity for the new hydrogels were studied. Results of evaluation of the prepared chitosan derivatives hydrogel for metal ions uptake showed that the maximum adsorption capacity amounted to 68 and 22 mg/l and the highest efficiency for adsorption of cobalt and mercuric ions from aqueous solution by hydrogel IIn at 10 h (93.2%) and (97.8%) respectively, whereas the adsorption capacity of hydrogel IIn increased with the increase of the initial concentration of heavy metals ions ranging from 0.4 to 1 g/l. However, modified chitosan derivative hydrogels In and IIn showed remarkable MIC and MBC towards Gram-positive (B. subtilis) (19.5, 38) μg/ml compared to the standard antibiotic Ciprofloxacin (19, 38) μg/ml respectively.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84847188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effect of Cement kiln dust (CKD) on the mechanical properties of ternary blend cement pastes was studied by preparing different mixes using 40%CKD, 10% OPC and 50% of three different pozzolanic material (ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), metakaolin (MK), and ground clay brick (GCB)). The mechanical properties were tested via the determination of compressive strength, bulk density, total porosity, and chemically combined water content at 3, 7, 28, 90, and 180 days. The hydration products were evaluated using x-ray diffraction analysis. The result indicated that 40%CKD greatly enhances the activation of GGBFS, MK, and GCB. The paste that contains (10% OPC, 40% CKD, and 50% GGBFS) gives the highest compressive strength, while (10% OPC, 40% CKD, and 50% GCB) gives the lowest compressive strength.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76428990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was conducted to isolate, identify plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) associated with (Phaseolus vulgaris) in Gaza strip - Palestine and to determine bacterial inoculations/co-inoculations that can enhance plant growth. A total of 35 different morphological isolates were collected and examined for plant growth. Five isolates that were tentatively promising (in plant growth promoting traits i.e. IAA production, Zn solubilization, ACC deaminase activity and phytase production) , were selected and subjected to partial 16S rDNA gene sequencing. The five isolates were: Bacillus proteolyticus MK123398, Bacillus wiedmannii MK123399, Pseudomonas plecoglossicida MK123400, Pseudomonas cedrina MK123401 and Bacillus xiamenensis MK123402. Results indicated that some bacterial combinations significantly increased plant growth, but no significant increase of total nitrogen concentration was observed. Consortia of (B. proteolyticus + B. xiamenensis),  (P. plecoglossicida + P. cedrina),  (B. proteolyticus +  B. wiedmannii  + B. xiamenensis), (B. proteolyticus + P. plecoglossicida + B. xiamenensis), B. wiedmannii ), and (B. wiedmannii  + P. plecoglossicida) showed significant increase in plant growth respectively. Those bacterial consortia have the potential for developing biofertilizers for integrated nutrient management strategies and decrease chemical firtilizers abuse stratiges.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78628253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BPA low doses on long exposure periods had many hazardous effects.The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of lowest dose of BPA on the male induced orally on the at reproductive performance and changes in the testes that takes place histologically. P53 gene expression by Realtime PCR was also evaluated. Seventy- two albino male rats were divided into two groups, group I (control male rats receiving corn oil only). Group II (64 male rats) which was treated with oral doses of 50 µg/ kg/ day daily for 8 weeks. Every week 8 male rats were dissected and subjected to the investigated parameters. BPA treated groups presented decrease in sperms count, motility, progression and viability as well as a significant increase in sperms head or/and tail abnormalities were recognized. Histology of the testes showed abnormal and irregular organization of seminiferous tubules and decreased sperms in the testes lumen. Moreover, up-regulation in p53 expression was recorded after BPA exposure. In conclusion, these results showed that exposure to BPA at low dose 50µg/kg can cause many reproductive disorders which may impair fertility.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81636382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The disease ranging from mild in most people to diseases that is more dangerous. It may progress to pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome and finally failure in vital function. Many people did not show symptoms of the disease. Clinical laboratory finding are low white cell counts with high rate of C-reactive protein. Chloroquine has positive antiviral effects on virus infection of primitive cells. In addition, these inhibitory effects were seen when the drug was used before and after exposure to the virus, this is important for both the preventive and curative architecture as well as therapeutic advantage of chloroquine. Meclizine and pyridoxine hydrochloride are considered strong anti-inflammatory, which help in controlling cytokine storm. Treatment by mixture of chloroquine, corticosterone, meclizine and pyridoxine may be protecting against blood clotting, which limits the spread of the disease. Accordingly, chloroquine, corticosterone, meclizine and pyridoxine can be used as prevention and treatment against pathogenic viral infections.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84887000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, this work aimed to prepare drug carriers for Ceftriaxone (CFX) loading based on hydrogel nanocomposites for increasing the CFX loading capacity and improving the antibacterial properties of the hydrogels. Hence, a novel nanocomposites based on Ca-alginate hydrogels were prepared as antibacterial model. The morphology, textural, and the molecular interaction between the Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) and the hydrogels were evaluated by using SEM, DCS, and FT-IR characterization techniques and loading efficiency was calculated. The loading efficiencies of (0, 5, 10 % MSNs) loaded with CFX were 2.379, 19.597 and 16.05 %, respectively. Furthermore, the antibacterial property of the hydrogels was tested by using colony forming test at three different loaded CFX concentrations. The results showed that, as MSNs % was increased in the alginate matrix, the loading CFX concentration increased. Thus, at 10% MSNs of 425.6 μg/ml CFX showed a significant viability % with (p** < 0.01) that was reached to 15.473% ± 0.399 relative to negative control. So, the hydrogels were to be used as a good CFX drug carrier and demonstrated a bactericidal effect against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.","PeriodicalId":16981,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Scientific Research in Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88192989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
