In this course, a new error function is proposed by introducing additional nulls in the existing MMA error function at specific locations which enables the new scheme to achieve low steady state mean squared error (MSE), reduced residual inter symbol interference (ISI) and faster convergence than those of existing MMA. The efficacy of the proposed scheme has been proved through simulation results for 16, 64 and 256-QAM signaling.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114200845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

UCD-Generator is a LESSA based application that makes this process more simple and easy. UCD-Generator is an automated system that has vigorous ability to directly interact wit the user. This research paper presents a natural language processing based approach LESSA that is used for automatically understanding the natural language text and extract required information. This information is used to draw the use case diagrams. User writes his interface based preferences in simple English in a few paragraphs and the designed system has conspicuous ability to analyze the given script. After compound analysis and extraction of associated information, the designed system actually draws the use case class diagrams. Other conventional CASE tools require a complete understanding of the intended business scenario and lot of extra time and efforts from the system analyst during the process of creating, arranging, labeling and finishing the USE case diagrams. The designed system provides a quick and reliable way to generate use case diagrams to save the time and budget of both the user and system analyst.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121474870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But in Pakistan, this technology is still on its way to be implemented for domestic as well as for industrial consumers. This paper explores the design, implementation and application of billing automation system for gas consumers in Pakistan. For low gas consumption (domestic consumers), a prepaid meter has been designed which needs a prepaid card to keep the gas supply continue. Similarly for high gas consumption (industrial consumers), the gas meter is wirelessly connected with the regional billing office. In this way the billing office is able to directly communicate with the meter and records its gas consumption reading. Along with the gas, this system can easily be enhanced to measure the consumption of electricity and water.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121963591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At present, GUI techniques for generating the test cases are difficult to understand and implement. GUI testing has become time consuming and hectic due to the fact that it contains lot of permutation of interactions. Since exhaustive testing is not possible, it is mandatory to optimize the testing process so that it can easily be scalable and increase the software reliability. The aim of this paper is to optimize the GUI test cases. We have proposed a technique for optimized test case generation with the help of interaction and termination events within one GUI component and present the evaluation of the technique with the help of a case study at the end of this paper.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132053739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve coordination these robots do not communicate explicitly with each other but rely on information gathered from the environment. A robot's environment can be modified by its own actions as well as actions of other robots. In our approach a robot senses these modifications through stigmergic sampling of the environment. This sensed information is then used to change the current state of the robot and choose its next action as well. Group level behavior emerges from local behaviors of individual robots and without the robots involving in any active signaling or communication. We claim this approach to be a better alternative than using explicit communication.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131050306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is well known that software projects typically slip on their schedules. Hence an important aspect of the project manager's role is to deal effectively with slippage. Although there are different 'best practices' available in prior literature and organizations in local software industry of Pakistan may also be using those. But there is no study, which actually relates these practices with the schedule slippage of the project. This study is based on main factors/practices in all phases of software development that cause delays in project schedule if proper attention is not paid. In this paper we shall observe software development projects in different software organizations to see the schedule slippage, major factors of the slippage and the project management practices followed in those projects. In addition to this we shall evaluate the software projects of local industry against those factors and the practices. It shall give a list of key delay causes that might exist in each phase of project development life cycle about which a software project manager must be aware of in order to effectively and efficiently complete and deliver a project on time and within budget. This study indicates that the factors, if given proper attention can help in reducing the schedule delays. The results shall also provide the current situation of the schedule delay; our industry is facing which could cause the dissatisfaction of our customers.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115107596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the medias which can be used as a cover media is audio signal. In this paper we introduce an adaptive wavelet domain steganography with high capacity and low error rate. We use lifting scheme to create perfect reconstruction filter banks which are Int2Int and hide data in least significant bits (LSB) of details coefficient in an adaptive way to reduce the error rate. Our method have zero error rate for hiding capacity below 100 kilo bits-per-second (kbps) and 0.3% error for 200 kbps, in comparison to 0.9% error of normal wavelet domain LSB steganography. Signal to noise ratio (SNR) values and listening tests results show that the stegano audio is imperceptible from original audio even with hiding capacity up to 200 kbps.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128637745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two major issues in this technique are the side information and complexity of the implementation in terms of the number of IF FT blocks being used. Our proposed algorithm deals with the complexity issue. The new algorithm called sub-SLM algorithm divides the OFDM sequence into multiple equal length sequences then the SLM algorithm is applied on these individual partial sequences. Both the length of the new IFFT and the SLM is changed in the individual block which reduces the complexity. Simulation results show a reduction of almost 3 dB and reduction of complexity by a factor greater than two. The PAPR performance is slightly degraded as compared to the original SLM technique but the complexity is improved considerably.","PeriodicalId":167980,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Information and Emerging Technologies","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125547725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
