{"title":"The role of archaeometry in the study of production and dispersal of Hellenistic pottery in Dalmatia, with new evidence on the chemistry of grey-ware tableware","authors":"Marina Ugarković, B. Šegvić","doi":"10.2307/j.ctvndv6j3.17","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2307/j.ctvndv6j3.17","url":null,"abstract":"The present contribution aims to summarise the current material evidence-based information on the Hellenistic pottery production in Dalmatia, with a special attention on the current state of archaeometric research in approaching the above- specified research questions. Furthermore, this contribution delivers new compositional results on the Hellenistic grey ware, recovered in different contexts of four eastern Adriatic sites, Krk, Sv. Klement/Hvar, Trogir and Kopila on Korcula. Newly acquired information is compared with previously published archaeometric data, adding further pieces of evidence in the study that aims to identify the production(s) and dispersal of Hellenistic pottery in Dalmatia, thus shedding more light on the development of crafts, trade and other forms of connectivity in the eastern Adriatic region.","PeriodicalId":166822,"journal":{"name":"Pottery Production, Landscape and Economy of Roman Dalmatia","volume":"160 11","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120869760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
