They play a role in embryogenesis and cell signaling activities. But excessive or dysregulated PAD levels were determined to be associated with disorders and to increase in many diseases. It has been shown that Chloramidine (Cl-amidine) used as a PAD inhibitor suppresses increased PAD activity and shows anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties play an important role in wound healing. In this study, the possible efficacy of Cl-amidine on wound healing in the keratinocyte cell line was investigated by considering these parameters. \u0000Method: Cell proliferation evaluations of Cl-amidine concentrations (500, 125, 31.25 and 7.81 µM) determined according to the results of MTT method on HaCaT keratinocyte cells were performed using Real-Time Cell Analysis System (RTCA DP). COL1A1 mRNA expression levels were analyzed by RT (Real Time)-PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method at the concentrations where proliferation was achieved (125, 31.25 µM). It has become crucial to develop models for predicting thyroid cancer. In light of this, the purpose of this study is to develop a clinical decision support model using the Bagged CART model, a machine learning (ML) model for the prediction of thyroid cancer. \u0000Material and Method: Between 2010 and 2012, 724 patients who applied to China Median University Shengjing Hospital comprised the study's data set. The dataset comprise information on nodule malignancies, demographic characteristics, ultrasound characteristics, and blood test results for all patients who underwent thyroidectomy. Using this open-access data set, the Bagged CART modeling technique was applied. Negative predictive value (NPV), specificity (Spe), balanced accuracy (BACC), positive predictive value (PPV), accuracy (ACC), sensitivity (Sen), and F1-score performance metrics were used to evaluate the model's predictive performance. In addition, a 10-fold cross-validation method was used to determine the validity of the model. In addition, variable importance was established, which reveals how much the input variables impact the output variable. \u0000Results: ACC, BACC, Sen, Spe, PPV, NPV, and F1-score obtained from the model performance metrics were calculated to 99.1%, 98.7%, 99.7%, 97.7%, 99.1%, 99.2%, and 99.4%, respectively, as a result of modeling. According to the variable importance values that were acquired for the input variables in the dataset that was investigated in this study, the seven variable that hold the greatest significance are as follows: size, TSH, blood flow: size, TSH, blood flow: enriched, multilateral: yes, FT4, site: isthmus, and age, in that order. \u0000Conclusion: As a result, the Bagged CART model was found to be effective at predicting thyroid cancer based on the findings of this study. In addition, in this study, risk factors for thyroid cancer were evaluated and their importance values were given. With these results, the decision-making process about the disease will be able to accelerate and thus, it will be able to effective in preventive medicine practices.

It was aimed to evaluate the factors that determine the antibiotic use behaviors of students and the level of numeracy knowledge in health literacy, which is effective in reducing unnecessary or incorrect antibiotic use. \u0000Methods: In the study, in which 212 students voluntarily participated, a questionnaire consisting of questions was used, in which socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to antibiotic use were examined, as well as the level of numerical knowledge in health literacy. \u0000Results: It was found that the average age of participants was 20.33±2.50, and 53.8% were females. It was determined that 77.4% of the participants preferred to go to the doctor when they had any health problems, and the most common reason for using antibiotics was fever (51.4%). The answer given for the "disease that requires antibiotic use" question was bacterial infections with 64.6%. Participants' numeracy level in health literacy was questioned with six different questions, and their average score was determined to 8.1±2.0. It was determined that the highest numeracy knowledge level score among the departments belonged to the students of the anesthesia and first and emergency departments. Moreover, it was found that the numeracy knowledge level score in health literacy for females was higher than that of males. \u0000Conclusion: It has been determined that students studying in health sciences have sufficient knowledge about rational antibiotic use and numeracy, but they do not have an excellent level of knowledge yet despite being health students. Data about the efficiency of noninvasive and invasive mechanical ventilation (NIV, IMV) in respiratory failure due to asthma attacks are scant. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between asthma-related factors, medical and NIV/IMV treatments received in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and the mortality rates and length of hospital stay, in asthma attacks. \u0000Methods: The characteristics of patients with severe asthma treated in Hacettepe University Medical ICU for a ten-year period were analyzed from patient records retrospectively. The association between age, sex, comorbidities, asthma duration, treatment, adherence to the treatment, the effectiveness of NIV/IMV treatment if performed, and asthma attack severity, length of hospital stay, and mortality were investigated. \u0000Results: A total of 22 patients were included in this study. In addition to medical treatment, eight (36.6%) patients received NIV, five (22.7%) received invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), and five (22.7%) patients had both. Four (18.1%) patients died in the ICU. There was no significant relationship between these parameters and length of hospital stay and mortality. The relationship between baseline PaCO2, pH, and HCO3 and the difference of PaCO2, pH, and HCO3¯ changes were significant, indicating the correct and effective use of NIV/IMV. \u0000Conclusion: NIV applications, which have been proven to be effective in hypercapnic respiratory failure, were also found to be effective in hypoxemic respiratory failure due to asthma attacks.
