One such is holy river Ganges. Ganges water plays a major role in Indian mythology. But due to setting up of different industries in and around Ganges basin, its water quality is deteriorating day by day. And civic authorities are not able to have the real time pollutant status of water and cannot carry out a necessary raid on industries and treatment before it affects aquatic as well as human life. This paper consists of a wireless river water quality monitoring method which can be useful for monitoring Ganges water. Our proposed method is a system of interconnected cloud storage, raspberry pi, temperature sensor and a website to show real time status. Sudden increase and decrease in temperature plays a major role in affecting water resource which happens when waste is executed from an industry which consist a lot of harmful chemicals, when the water molecules come in contact of these chemicals they show a sudden rise in temperature and drastic change in pH level we can sense these changes through the sensors connected through Raspberry Pi and push them on the cloud. This paper also consists of an approach to alarm civic authorities if the concentration of pollutants increases. By this approach not only civic authority, but common man will have a pollutant status around them.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125228303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The statistics shows that diabetes is amongst the highest health concerns that are found in all age groups, posing a huge risk to form cardiovascular diseases in the long run. Hence, to overcome or probably to commercialize such complications, food industries are targeting the health cautious group of people to make profits. But the question remains, whether these products are really genuine. As we see, market aisles these days are crammed with variety of Anti-Diabetic food-products including wheat-flour, cooking-oil, milk tetra packs, etc. of varied brands claiming that they can manage normal blood glucose levels of a diabetic patient and/ or everyone. This raises a debate as to whether these Anti-Diabetic products are effectual preventive measures or useful for diabetes cure. Thus, in this paper we propose the DMAIC problem solving approach of Six Sigma powered by Threshold Based Incremental-Clustering Algorithm (TBCA) implemented here that takes into account nutritional composition of these Anti-Diabetic food-products to analyze their Sugar-release-controlling capability. To validate considered phenomenon, the association between Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and Anti-Diabetic products data sets, are examined through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and TBCA-integrated-DMAIC steps of Six Sigma. The outcome of this study concludes that these products are constructive in regulating the blood glucose spikes of a diabetic patient. Extended learning outcome of this study will be, to add TBCA process as a new layer in DMAIC, so as to achieve distributed machine learning system, with sustainability care.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129907673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the range of usage of data collected, analysed and put to use to pave way for systematic, informed and targeted service deliveries such as household sanitation. It also sheds light on spatial real-time granular data being the foundation for not just measuring high scale impacts of interventions but also for evidence based challenges to stereotypes that are entrenched in society’s psyche. A household level survey covering 463 households across four urban areas of Maharashtra namely: Kolhapur, Navi-Mumbai, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Pune, involved 2,414 respondents in the pre-intervention survey while 2,306 respondents in the post-intervention survey. We found that household sanitation has had an overwhelming impact on not just the tier one cities where we surveyed but also the awareness levels of tier two cities have been very high and interesting to observe. A better understanding of the wide spectrum that each data set offers in studying slum level and household level demographics, character, behaviour, context, aspirations, and background is needed to enable context-specific, gender-sensitive and sustainable sanitation interventions.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"72 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120865484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interpretability of optical images is improved by fusing with SAR images. The pixel intensity values of SAR image are often converted to physical quantity called backscattering coefficient measured in dB. It is an important property of SAR which is used to differentiate among the land surfaces. Hence, converting SAR image to backscattered image using backscattering coefficient provides more information compared to SAR image. SAR images are captured in four polarization modes. HH and VV polarization modes provide information of smooth surface and water bodies while HV and VH polarization modes provide information of vegetation and crop. In this paper, fusion of backscattered image in HH and HV polarization mode with optical image is carried out. Product from RISAT-1 and AWiFS are used for fusion.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"394 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126750954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fuel of the social media is information generated by users and sharing of the same among others. The growth in the usage of the social media is phenomenal and pervasive. The users and customers are using social media extensively in their daily life. This has made all the businesses to rethink their strategies and adopt the changes taking place in the macro environment. The banks are integral part of any economy and the banking system is the back bone of Indian economy. The banking sector has seen a major change since 1991 where the private sector banks entered into the system, which changed the way in which banking was being done and this has increased the competition in the banking sector domain. The number of users of these social media platforms are in millions, hard to ignore for any bank. The public banks in India are using social media in different forms to stay connected with millions of users. These banks are using social media for consumer communication, engaging with general public and so on and so forth. The objective of the paper is to analyse as to how Indian public sector banks are using social media as a part of their strategy. The study focuses on top 4 social media platform Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube which are majorly used by the banks. The study also focuses on the top 10 public sector banks as the sample of the study.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114173054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has prompted increasing interests in analytical domain. Thus, all these comments have a great influence on readers, vendors & politicians. In political domain, political parties and other experts make use of facebook, twitter and blogs to communicate with the people and to check voice of public. Hence, an appropriate model which gives correct analysis and results about peoples’ sentiments related to political parties and political diplomats is built. Data is captured from social media sites and pre-processing is carried out. Word2vec model is used for word embedding process. For final evaluation neural network is used. After detailed study and comparison efficient neural network model is chosen and positive/negative sentiments are identified. Experimental evaluation signifies the effectiveness of the proposed model. This system is also helpful for understanding people’s response to particular political decision which will help in better decision making during elections and political campaigns.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129596366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monitoring and understanding the pulse of social media allows to gain feedback and to understand the people or market in a better way. There is also an outpour of information, related to the thoughts, feelings, expressions, experience, likes and dislikes that everyone tends to give out in social media. The catch is to utilize this for a novel purpose that can aid the thinkers, technocrats, leaders, communications, innovators to build a proactive say today, on the challenges of tomorrow. It will be like learning the ‘mind of the society’ and to aid the citizens with the necessary conditions to make their lives better. This is exactly what we have attempted to do here.By digging deep into the data generated by social media, we can get the answer of following questions; What happened in the past? 2) What is happening now? & based on these answers we can obtain the answer to the question What can happen in the future?. We have put forth a more accurate and refined prediction algorithm which deals with the weight of the term and instrument Poisson distribution function to forecast behaviour of the term for next cycles.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126027603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Citizens need to submit their daily complaints for municipal corporation. In a traditional system like Telephonic system for registration of complaints is a very time-consuming method. The customer has to wait until call is received by service executive. The proposed system is for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) where citizens can insert query and intelligent reply is given to the citizen by short text understanding and machine learning algorithms. In the post query system analyses the sentiment of citizen by sentiment analysis. Accordingly, priorities to the given citizens on the basis of the intensity of the citizen complaint. Understanding the short text is the major challenge in the system like short texts do not follow the syntax of written language, short text does not have sufficient statistics to support for approaches like text mining, short text is ambiguous and noisy. In this system to understand natural language semantic knowledge is provided by the knowledgebase. This system will help many organizations to ensure quality service provision and customer satisfaction with less human efforts.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128427667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here we analyze the data on noise levels in dB(A) Leq during day time (6 am to 10 pm) collected at 36 different locations in Pune city. The dataset is available on the Pune municipal Corporation Open data Portal[4]. The 36 locations are classified in four different zones named as commercial zone, residential zone, silence zone, and industrial zone. Data is collected on specific days of each month from April 2016 to March 2017. The main objective of this analysis is to locate the areas having noise levels higher than specified safe dB and to predict the average noise level in upcoming months.By using statistical tools we establish that in almost all the areas, the noise levels are beyond the safe noise level specified by the pollution control board. Specifically, areas like RTO, KK market, Rajaram Bridge, Ramwadi Octroi Naka, Sant Dnyaneshwar Ghat, Pune University (Campus) have very high noise levels. Areas having same noise levels are clustered into same group. Cluster analysis is used to locate the areas having higher noise pollution than their zonal counterparts. For predicting the noise levels in upcoming months, we use time series analysis and try to identify the areas which may need serious monitoring of noise levels.","PeriodicalId":166677,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Punecon","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127215685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
