Özkan","doi":"10.5505/yeditepe.2022.82621","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5505/yeditepe.2022.82621","url":null,"abstract":"Aim: The Visagism concept allegedly helps dental clinicians provide restorations that account not only for aesthetics, but also for the psychosocial features of the created image, which affect patients’ emotions, sense of identity, behaviour, and self-esteem. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the psychosocial features of The Visagism concept along with the patient’s natural tooth forms. Material & Methods: A questionnaire of 50 questions was applied to 50 participants to perform psychosocial analysis according to the Visagism concept. In addition, dental pho-tographs were taken from the participants, in which all the upper anterior teeth were clearly visible. Through these photographs, the natural tooth forms of the participants were blindly classified by two different dental clinicians. The relationship between the natural tooth forms and the dental composition determined by the temperaments of the participants were evaluated. Results: Psychosocial analysis questionnaire of participants were evaluated as 3 (%6) melancholic, 22 (% 44) sanguine, 7 (% 14) sanguine-choleric, 15 (%30) sanguine-melancholic and 3 (%6) sanguine-phlegmatic. After photographic analysis, natural teeth form of participants were classified as 10 (%20) oval, 4 (%8) triangular, 18 (%36) re-ctangular and 18 (%36) square. No statistically significant relationship was found between expected tooth forms by psychosocial analysis questionnaire and natural tooth forms of participants (p<0,005). Conclusions: Visagism concept is in very primitive state, so practical applications on individuals has not yet pro-duced. No:50 Erciyes Üniversitesi Kampüsü Kayseri Tel: +905331680466 E-posta: tanertr35@gmail.com ÖZET Amaç: Ön açık kapanışa neden olan parmak emme ve dil itme gibi kötü alışkanlıkların sabit dil paravanı apareyi ile engellenmesi sonucu meydana gelen yumuşak doku değişikliklerinin üç boyutlu fotoğraflar yardımıyla değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Parmak emme ve dil itimi sonucu ön açık kapanışa sahip 9 kadın (ort. yaş: 9,45 ± 1,33 yıl) ve 6 erkek (ort. yaş: 8,50 ± 0,71 yıl) hasta çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların tedavileri (ort. tedavi süresi: 0,6±0,1 yıl) üst çene daimî birinci molar dişlerine yapıştırılan sabit dil paravanı apareyi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. 3dMD fotoğraf cihazı ile tedaviden hemen önce (T0) ve aparey çıkarılmasından hemen sonra (T1) alınan 3 boyutlu fotoğraflarda yüz analizleri ve dijital kumpas ile overjet ve overbite ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Alınan fotoğraflar üzerinde 16 adet mesafe ve 6 adet açısal ölçüm için 3dMD Vultus programından faydalanılmıştır. İstatistiksel değerlendirmeler Wilcoxon analizi ve Pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular: Tedavi sonunda kötü alışkanlıklar elimine edilmiştir, elde edilen overbite artışı (ort. 3,23±1,81 mm) istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Üst dudak uzunlukları artarken (p<0,005) ve alt dudak uzunlukları azalmıştır. Overjet ile TVL-Ls uzaklığı (r=-0,803; p<0,05) arasında negatif yönlü korelasyon olduğu görülmüştür. Overbite ile TVL-Bs uzaklığı arasında pozitif yönlü güçlü bir korelasyon olduğu görülmüştür (r=0,756; p<0,01). Gerçek dikey düzleme göre SPog ve SB noktalarının ileri hareketi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0,005). Sonuç: Dil paravanı apareyi parmak emme ve dil itimi sonucunda görülen ön açık kapanışın tedavisinde; overbite, alt çene yumuşak doku projeksiyonu ve dudaklarda pozitif yönlü değişimler sağlamıştır.
