Although there are views that adaptive learning platforms contribute to learning within higher education, efficacy research of such systems yields mixed results. This is an indication that more could be studied concerning how adaptive learning can be efficacious within higher education contexts particularly when cognate studies have mostly discussed how cognitive measures differ between learners who engaged and those who did not engage with an adaptive learning system. Beyond cognitive measures such as achievement scores provided by adaptive learning systems, this brief paper proposes that learner satisfaction towards such systems - as an imperative factor due to its direct and significant relationship between users and the system - needs to be examined, in part to evaluate the efficacy of adaptive learning systems. Given the complexity of learner satisfaction as a construct, such investigations have the potential to illuminate important factors of system optimizations, developments, and interventions that provide crucial guidelines for higher education institutions to implement successful adaptive learning courses that meet students’ satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"43 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139366708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, students face challenges in navigating sexual communication and making informed decisions about their sexuality. This research is carried out to empirically analyze the issue of authoritative oppression and gender equality through a textual analysis of the renowned book “Fang Si-Qi’s First Love Paradise”. The findings of this analysis shed light on various contemporary sex education issues in Taiwan, particularly those related to gender equality. These issues are deconstructed into key points for reforming sex and gender education. Nevertheless, teaching methods used during the pandemic showed several disadvantages because teaching languages with online technology was not accustomed to teachers and students. Thus, we analyzed students’ perceptions of multimodal elements, videos, subtitles, and teaching methods in language learning. Accordingly, students’ attitudes toward the use of videos as multimodal resources were explored in an intensive online program, and factors influencing their engagement in online learning were identified. The participants comprised 33 students who joined a free online summer program offered by a college during the pandemic. The program was aimed at helping unemployed graduates aged 15–29 years take a series of career training courses. To address the issue of receiving simplistic and surface-level answers from the questionnaires, interviews were carried out to gather more compelling information. The results revealed that the students had positive attitudes toward incorporating video subtitles in online classes. In particular, they thought video captions facilitated learning vocabularies and structures online. Therefore, video materials were feasible for teaching English as a second language. Pedagogical implications regarding the use of videos as an educational tool were presented in this study","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116638108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is an opportunity for Taiwan to combine cultural inspiration and creative development and transformation through creative industries. Temples are close to the daily life of many people with local characteristics in Taiwan as places where the Taiwanese retain a rich cultural atmosphere. The development of the cultural and creative concepts of such cultural elements influences the marketing design, development, and production of various god themes, and the development of the industrialization of religious beliefs. The improvement in physical fitness was observed in body mass index (BMI), waist and hip circumference, sit-up reach, and 800/1600 meters running. Female students’ muscle endurance improved significantly with one-minute sit-ups but their waist and hip circumferences were longer than those in the weight management group. Students showed the highest scores in the dimension of well-being and the lowest score in the clinical concept of health. The satisfaction survey result showed that teachers' instruction was more effective than self-learning. In conclusion, cooperative learning allowed students to improve learning motivation, thereby improving physical fitness and learning effectiveness. It was verified that cooperative learning had a positive and significant impact on the satisfaction of students. The cooperative learning teaching mode can be applied to other physical education courses. Increasing the number of related physical education courses will improve the opportunities to improve the quality of the courses.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122898728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As behavior is interpreted by subjective and social factors, problematic behavior in school is a way of students' reaction to situations that take place in the classroom and to teachers’ attitudes, thus showing their desire to relate to him/her with a more substantial bond. In these difficult adjustment conditions, the teacher is called upon to help students develop their academic skills and manage their emotions by finding solutions. This article is a literature review investigating emotional and behavioral difficulties/disorders that appear in the classroom, the management of these difficulties/disorders by the teacher to prevent them, the influence of teachers' attitudes on students’ behavior and academic achievement, the implementation of appropriate intervention programs, and the role of ICTs in controlling such difficulties/disorders.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127736262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, it is important to analyze the characteristics of the self-cognition evaluation of teachers’ quality in rural schools. Taking Huaiyin Normal University as an example and conducting a questionnaire survey of 144 students, we drew the following important conclusions through descriptive statistical analysis and chi-square test. (1) The self-evaluation of self-development was relatively lower than average. (2) The self-evaluation of students’ morality, professional competence, and self-development of students in the middle of Jiangsu was slightly worse than that of northern Jiangsu. (3) The difference between urban and rural areas was not significant. (4) The higher the grade, the greater the self-evaluation, but the self-development literacy was not improved significantly. In response to these problems, the following suggestions were made. Geography-oriented teacher training assessment must be introduced in an elimination system. Also, teachers need to focus on career planning and enhance the sense of educational mission. At the same time, teachers are required to focus on self-reflection and enhance their self-learning ability.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122425568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the rapid development of technology, social change, and industry needs, education change has been processed accordingly. “108 Curriculum Guidelines” indicated the idea and the goal of the curriculum to take core competency as a key aspect in secondary education courses. Thus, it is necessary to explore the relevance between teachers’ identification with the core competency of 12-year basic education curriculum guidelines and its pedagogical transformation. Considering the professional knowledge and practical skills of vocational teachers, it is hard to combine them with the core competency into courses for pedagogical transformation. Thus, we analyze the impact of teaching seniority on core competency and its pedagogical transformation by collecting survey data from teachers in vocational schools in Taiwan. Teaching seniority shows a significant difference from the core competency, further affecting pedagogical transformation. Therefore, we propose specific suggestions as follows. First, teachers need to be encouraged to attend workshops to strengthen core competency. Second, course discussion among teachers is required to combine core competencies into courses. Third, the increase of identification to a core competency for senior teachers is demanded to perform pedagogical transformation with teachers’ rich experiences.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129164476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Teachers were also besieged to find sustainable teaching solutions. During this chaos, many were subjected to various rumors and misinformation about the pandemic. Hence, we aimed to design a 3 week long computer-assisted STEM-based health awareness course. The course was designed and delivered to twenty high school students in various public schools in Qatar. The course creators utilized various innovative computer-based educational tools to involve and motivate students. In addition, students attended several synchronous and asynchronous sessions with experts in different fields to gain a better awareness of the crisis. A feedback mechanism was also operated to assess the effectiveness of the course delivery. The results revealed a 100% retention rate. The student questionnaire survey result showed higher post-test scores on pandemic awareness. A SWOT analysis depicted the strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the executed course. Thereby, we successfully investigated the effectiveness of the STEM-integrated pedagogical approach through the learning outcomes of the student’s awareness of the course.","PeriodicalId":165325,"journal":{"name":"Educational Innovations and Emerging Technologies","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121269528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
