They may lead to an increase in the operation cost. In this paper, in order to solve the problem, a novel algorithm based on the auto-configuration of MGs is proposed for minimizing the operation cost in grid-connected mode. A centralized energy management system (EMS) is also developed in accordance with the proposed algorithm, which is responsible for communication in the system and performs optimization. Motors draw a large amount of current, several times the normal full-load current when first energized. In starting period of Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (LSPMSM), high current causes saturation in stator and rotor. The effect of saturation on the “q-axis” synchronous inductance, Lmq, of LSPMSM is studied in this paper. The paper will proposes a method to calculate the Lmq using the Lumped Parameter Method. Comparative results will be carried on using finite element method. To do so, an optimization problem called environmental economic dispatch, which is subjected to physical constraints of the considered power system, is solved. Consequently, we propose an approach based on the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) to obtain the globally optimal solution of that optimization problem in a distributed manner under a fast convergence. As a result, each generation unit can derive by itself an optimal generated power that minimizes with compromising both fuel and emission costs while satisfying both global and local physical constraints caused by the whole system and by its own. The most distinguished feature of this approach is that the power balance constraint is always guaranteed during the execution of the algorithm. Recently, smart gird problems has become more diversified and complex which cannot be solved by single objective optimization method. Technical, economical, and placement problems of control devices should also be considered as required. The technical and economical problems are treated as ordinal multi objective optimization problem, in addition, with the operating schedule of control devices. The placement problem can be solved by using concept of combinational optimization. Therefore, this paper provides an optimization method, which simultaneously considers both multi objects and combinational problem. The handling method for combinational problems and two fold diversity in pareto optimal solutions are also provided. Finally, an index is provided from which solution can be selected by system designer and operator. From a network constraint perspective for the economic dispatch problem one of the factors to be accounted for is voltage security, which impacts both active and/or reactive power dispatch. In this paper, an Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) using Graph Theory has been proposed to overcome the above-mentioned problem. Graph Theory has been used since it becomes very useful in cases of fault detection and isolation or to shed unbalanced nodes in case of excessive or insufficient supply. So far electric springs have been studied mostly with resistive loads which are ON all the time. This paper analyses the performance of electric spring when connected with different types of variable loads. The electric spring circuit was simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment with three types of loads — resistive, resistive-inductive and resistive-capacitive. The circuit was modified such that some of the loads are OFF for a certain part of the simulation. The effect of load variation on the performance of electric spring did not vary with the type of load. However, the change in stress on electric spring with load variation depends on the type of load attached to it. LSPMSM has torque characteristics of both induction motor IM and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor-PMSM. In order to maximize efficiency, an optimal design method of cage-bars and magnet shape has to be considered [1]. The geometry parameters of stator and rotor can be obtained by an analytical model method [2] and validated by FEM simulation. This paper describes a comprehensive design of a three phase LPMSM motor 7.5 kW for electrical drive application. The compensated voltages are obtained by using Phase-Lock Loop to detect the phase and the magnitude of the grid voltage then compare to the load reference voltage. A three-phase NPC inverter with output LC filter is used to generate the ac voltage that will be injected to the load via injection transformer to compensate sag voltages. A new method to generate very high quality compensated voltages based on predictive controller will be presented. The model of the systems include NPC inverter and LC filter are built to establish the equations that can be applied to calculate the future values of the compensated voltage and the dc link voltage capacitor at the next sampling time. After that, the optimal voltage vectors that minimize both the compensated voltage and the dc link capacitor errors will be chosen for the next switching state of the NPC inverter. Obtained simulation results verified the theoretical analysis.
