The goal involves assessing the impact stemming from the partial replacement of 1-butene with 1-hexene on the thermal, physical, mechanical and rheological properties of the resultant resin, juxtaposed against an LLDPE counterpart exclusively produced by 1-butene as the comonomer. Although the comprehensive examination of key physical, thermal, rheological and mechanical characteristics indicates nominal influence due to the substitution, a marked escalation materializes in both the tear resistance and slow crack growth (SCG) resilience of the LLDPE resins formulated through the amalgamation of these comonomers. Specifically, the tear and SCG resistance of the proposed resin exhibit an extraordinary surge exceeding 60% and 30%, respectively. This discernible enhancement underscores the viability of the proposed technique as a propitious avenue for augmenting the requisite mechanical properties, obviating the need for an all-encompassing shift from 1-butene to longer-chain α-olefin comonomers. Because of precise carbohydrate specificities of lectin and to make PT water soluble for sensing of lectin, we have synthesized polythiophene-g-poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) -co-poly(glucose-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PT-g-pDMAEMA-co-pGLU-HEM), [PTDG]) from polythiophene macroinitiator (PTI) by copolymerizing DMAEMA and GLU-HEM monomers mixture with CuCl/HMTETA catalyst/ligand followed by hydrolysis using alcoholic NaOMe solution. The Mn of PTI was 38000, polydispersity 2.5, head-tail (H-T) regioregularity 70 mol % and Mn of unhydrolyzed PTDG is 98,900. The UV-Vis spectra of PTDG solution shows two absorption peaks at 430 and 462 nm but it shows a sharp emission peak at 544 nm which quenches with increasing pH. Concanavalin A (ConA) shows an absorbance peak at 278 nm and with addition of PTDG solution absorbance intensity increases showing hypochromic effect. Benesi–Hildebrand plot of reciprocal molar extinction coefficients with concentration suggests 1:1 complex formation between PTDG and ConA. With addition of ConA fluorescence quenching of PTDG solution occurred and using the fluorescence intensity ratio vs concentration plot the limit of detection (LOD) of Con A lectin is found to be 57 µg/L and storing the polymer solution for two months exhibits good durability. The morphology of PTDG changes from vesicle to compound micellar aggregate on addition of Con A lectin. Graphical Abstract We have synthesized a polythiophene glcopolymer (PT-g-pDMAEMA-co-pGLU-HEM), PTDG) using ATRP technique and its UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra indicates pH responsivity and lectin sensing property with LOD of 57 µg/L.","PeriodicalId":16228,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part A","volume":"2016 1","pages":"599 - 608"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86311273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They exhibit outstanding properties like high strength-to-weight ratio, abundant surface functional groups and sustainability. In this study, we prepared nanocomposites of poly (ethylene-co-methyl acrylate) (EMA) and CNC using the melt-mixing technique. The mechanical properties of EMA were improved after adding CNC to it. The ultimate tensile stress and maximum elongation increased from 6 MPa and 860% (for pristine EMA) to 9.5 MPa and 1090% (for 2 wt.% EMA/CNC composite). Thermal properties of the EMA/CNC composites were analyzed by using DSC and TGA analysis. The dispersion of CNC in the composite was analyzed by SEM and XRD analyses. The EMA/CNC composites showed interesting birefringence properties on analysis via polarized optical microscopy (POM). The POM analysis indicated that the CNC in composites aligns themselves in the direction of applied stress, enhancing the mechanical strength of nanocomposites. Biodegradation of the bio-composite was also studied via soil-burial test. While the traditional grafting from method required low monomer conversion to avoid gelation, and resulted shorter side chain length. Compared with the traditional grafting from method, the bottlebrushes with improved longer side chains were successfully prepared by combining grafting through and grafting from methods. In this approach, RAFT and ROMP polymerizations were used in sequence to synthesize a series of main chains: including PNB-PMA7, PNB-PMA13 and PNB-PMA25. RAFT polymerization was then used to prepare bottlebrushes with different kinds of main chains under the same conditions. In the meantime, homo-polymerization of PMA was appeared inevitably, which was related to the polymerization time. Owing to the greater molecular weight of PNB-PMA13 and PNB-PMA25, the polymerized solutions transformed into gel in shorter time, and resulted to the lower proportion of homo-polymerization (<11%). Compared with PNB-SCS as main chain, the side chain’s degree of polymerization increased from 41 to 80 when PNB-PMA13 was used as main chain. In this investigation, we developed dual anticancer drugs (sorafenib (SFB) and kaempferol (KMF)) encapsulated in PEGylated gold nanomaterial (PEG-AuNPs@SFB/KMF) for a drug delivery system targeting breast cancer to circumvent this problem. Subsequent research examined whether pH affects drug release. The current study results show that sorafenib and kaempferol work better together than each treatment individually in eliciting cytotoxic effects. In vitro cytotoxicity studies confirmed that PEG-AuNPs@SFB/KMF were more effective than sorafenib alone in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells, with less toxicity in NIH3T3 cells. The cancer cell proliferation was measured by Click-iT EdU assay, which indicates that the NPs effectively induce apoptosis in cancer cells. The different biochemical staining (acridine orange and ethidium bromide (AO-EB and nuclear staining (DAPI)) methods confirmed the morphological investigation of the cells. PEG-AuNPs@SFB/KMF increased apoptosis ratio, confirmed by flow cytometric analysis via Annexin V-FITC/PI staining methods. Therefore, we believe that the built multifunctional nanocarrier based on developed nanoparticle delivery could be an alternative therapeutic strategy for breast cancer therapy.
