The concept of color is complex and involves not just the interaction of light with matter, but our perception of it by eye and brain. For example, when we look at the two solutions in Figure 1, we are seeing two things: (a) color and (b) intensity of color. The solutions are a different concentration, but they have the same chemical composition. Shouldn’t they have the same color?
