The college received accreditation from the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) of the Ministry of Health. Between 2020 and 2021, the college found the need to take the study of African naturopathy to the tertiary level. The college started its national accreditation arrangement under the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) at the Higher National Diploma and Bachelor of Technology in Naturopathy and Holistic Medicine. The curriculum for Naturopathy was based on Ghana’s harmonized Competency Based Training (CBT). This paper presents a commentary on the progress made toward curriculum development and accreditation for Ghana’s first Naturopathy program at the tertiary level.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128319899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The general guidelines for disposal and segregation during the pre-covid period has emphasised recycling.Objective Our aim was to find out whether the PPE kits were adequately recycled during the pandemic and whether any toxic fumes were produced while incinerating them, resulting in any environmental hazard.: We collected the data on Bio-medical waste disposed in the entire Kerala state from 2017 to 2022. It was divided into pre-covid and covid-relaxation period. The amount of biomedical waste recycled and incinerated were measured and compared. The amount of new cases and its correlation to recycling and incineration was done. The stack emission data during pre-covid and covid-relaxation period was collected and compared.Our results showed that during the covid-relaxation years there was a significant increase in incineration as compared to the pre-covid years. The incineration was much more when compared to recycling. Fortunately the stack emission didn’t show any toxic fumes and environmental hazards.: We concluded that recycling of PPE was not adequate during covid-19 pandemic. Health care system should take more steps to be compliant with national guidelines. Awareness has to be made to decrease in the use of these disposable materials and shift to more eco-friendly materials or reusable materials.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130868229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It emphasizes the need of avoiding stress and promoting a diet that helps in boosting heart health.The role of Ayurveda in heart failure with low ejection fraction is discussed in this paper. Low ejection fraction, often known as low EF, occurs when your ejection fraction goes below 55%. It indicates that your heart isn't working as efficiently as it should. Heart failure is one of the major causes of early mortality associated with cardiac dysfunction. According to Ayurveda, all causes of Heart Dysfunction arise from the dysfunction of the rasadhatvagni, one of the causes of poor quality rasadhatu that aggravates heart disease when it is absorbed into the heart.In this case report, the 26-year-old female patient default rasadhatu caused heart failure with a low ejection fraction, which was treated using polyherbs and panchkarma in Ayurveda to improve heart function (low ejection fraction). Polyherbs are utilized to regulate systolic and diastolic dysfunction of heart. In the present case, default rasadhatu was reported cause of heart failure with low ejection fraction. In Ayurveda above discussed polyherbs and panchkarma treatment can correct heart function i.e. low ejection fraction. The Ayurvedic system of medicine thus proves itself to be an established one with significant scientific foundations and therapies that can be practiced alone or alongside conventional medicine.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124179146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Natural products have complex and diverse chemical structures. Meanwhile, the use of natural products as modifiers of biological performance has also attracted considerable attention. Global market demand for natural products is growing day by day, public health issues and safety concerns are also increasingly recognized. These products have become one of the most important sources for the development of new lead compounds and scaffolds. Natural products will be used continuously to meet the urgent need for the production of effective and useful drugs and play an important role in the production of drugs with effective compounds for the treatment of a wide range of human diseases. Many clinical studies have been conducted on the use of these compounds. In addition to what has been stated, herbal compounds are used for other diseases related to chronic inflammation such as atherosclerosis and ischemia. We hope this work will provide important knowledge for therapeutic or preventive applications of natural products in chronic inflammatory diseases.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129722455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It had rapidly spread globally with approximately 66.4 crore cases, 64.40 crore recoveries and 67.1 lakh deaths (200,000 death within first four month) till now. In India there were 4.46 crore cases of which 4.41 crore recovered and there were 5.30 lakh deaths till now (JHU CSSE COVID-19 Data). Assessment of pulmonary fibrosis in post COVID-19 follow up cases. The prospective observational study was carried out at R.D. Gardi Medical College, Ujjain in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. All post COVID-19 cases attending post covid care speciality clinic was included in the study with minimum 119 patients. In our study of 119 post covid follow up cases, post covid pulmonary fibrosis was seen in 67(56.3%) patients (fibrotic group) of which only in 3 patients had residual lung fibrosis while other improved. The patients who had lung fibrosis were fewer than expected (<5%). These sequelae were mostly occurring in the elderly patients with comorbidities, longer hospital stay, severity of covid infection and smoking are the other risk factors for its development. Post Covid patients had various symptoms like weakness, cough, breathlessness etc which required symptomatic management.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"312 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116761347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We evaluated the effects of a 8-week exercise intervention on inter-limb asymmetries of mechanical, material, and morphological musculoskel et al. characteristics and function in patients with Achilles tendinopathy (n = 44). Additionally, we investigated the relationship between asymmetry reductions and better patient-reported outcomes. At baseline, tendons with tendinopathy showed decreased tendon force (p = 0.013), decreased tendon stress (p 0.0001), greater tendon cross-sectional area (p 0.001), and higher intratendinous (p = 0.022) and tendon overall (p = 0.018) vascularization. PRE-to-POST asymmetry comparisons for the high-load group showed an increase in asymmetry for the counter-movement jump. The tendinopathic appendage contrasts from the asymptomatic leg while helpful activity mediations meaningfully affect imbalances.","PeriodicalId":160445,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Preventive Medicine and Holistic Health","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128386502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
