Their work performance is closely related to work motivation. The motivation of lecturers and staff in the university is affected by many different factors. In this study, we focused on assessing the influence of 5 factors: income, co-worker relationship, development opportunities, working conditions and nature of work. The study was carried out on a sample of 163 subjects who are lecturers and staff of a public university in Vietnam. Methods of exploratory factor analysis EFA, linear regression analysis were used to test the research hypotheses. Research results showed that all 5 factors considered have a positive impact on the work motivation of lecturers and staff. In which, the income factor has the strongest influence. The results of this study provide data as a basis for building motivational strategies for lecturers and staff at universities in Vietnam.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117160055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Gradually, workers had to re-adapt from mandatory teleworking into a massive comeback to face-to-face work, while some preferred to stay home office. Through extensive archival research, this research investigated the different types of work and their influence on Psychological Well-Being (PWB) in the Brazilian IT industry. Key findings revealed psychological fallout caused by the pandemic, affecting not only the workers’ performance but also the way workers should work. Some prefer staying home due to fewer distances traveled and lower mobility costs, for instance. In contrast, others prefer face-to-face work because it facilitates communication and meetings, helps establish trust, facilitates clarity in conversations, and saves time during the workday. Finally, we found evidence that face-to-face work also helps improve satisfaction and PWB.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130569022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Murder is regarded better than throwing acid (Mihaela B. I. 2015). Unfortunately, Pakistan is becoming more and more popular for hurling acid. A woman in Lahore was recently beaten with acid after rejecting a marriage proposal (Ashraf, S. 2017). South Punjab, a region known for its agriculture and as the \"cotton belt,\" is where more than half of all acid-related crimes occur. This region has historically been plagued by low socioeconomic indicators, and it is also where acid is easily accessible in local markets and frequently used to clean cotton. According to an unbiased study, 9,340 people in Pakistan were victims of acid attacks between 1994 and 2018 (Wong, Y. 2021). Unless the government takes strong action to put an end to the evildoer, such attacks will continue to occur in the nation. According to the Acid Survivors Trust International, 80% of acid attack victims are women, putting acid attacks in the category of gender-based violence (J. G. 2019). Although attackers also target men, the problem primarily impacts women and is more likely to happen in societies where there is a strong gender division (Duggan, M. 2020). This way of life supports gender inequality and highlights the vulnerable status of women in Pakistani society, who frequently face attacks not just from outsiders but even from their own spouses and relatives.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133946926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, it is also used as cognitive aptitude tests or general cognitive ability tests in non-clinical settings such as in various recruitment processes. However, most of the cognitive function screening tools (CFST) available now is highly subjective and don’t encompass a wide range of cognitive biomarkers and also don’t apply a wide range of cognitive reagents. Whether cognitive function screening tools are pen-paper basedor digital, these essential elements have to be taken into consideration to ensure versatility, efficacy and accuracy of cognitive function screening tools. The same principle can be applied in development of cognitive function training tools (CFTT) that can potentially provide effective cognitive rehabilitation. A dual-functional model has been proposed and demonstrated that can potentially be used in pre-clinical and non-clinical settings.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134061850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An important factor related to breast cancer survival is the time in which the diagnosis is made. The objective of the study is to determine the risk factors associated with breast cancer in two ISSSTE units. Epidemiological study of cases and controls, analytical, observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, carried out in women with and without breast cancer who attended the Clinic Hospital ISSSTE Coatzacoalcos and the Clinic Hospital ISSSTE Ciudad de México in the years 2021 and first semester of 2022. To calculate the sample size, the Schelesselman tables were used. Data were analyzed and descriptive statistics were used and the odds ratio was calculated. 50 cases and 30 controls with a mean of 52.29 years of age with a deviation of ± 9.83 for the cases and 42.81 (DE ±11.01) for the controls were studied. The age in the patients with breast cancer yielded an odds ratio (OR) equal to 5.75 (95% CI), a hereditary family history of breast cancer in 88% of cases, and the oldest age at first pregnancy was 34 years. Lifestyle with sedentary lifestyle and with BMI of obesity in 70% of both cases and controls. Only 52% of the patients with breast cancer breastfed and in the controls 43.33% breastfed. The results suggest that age and lifestyle can influence the evolution of cancer as well as family history, but in this case 88% of patients in the cases did not have a family history of cancer against the control cases that all had a history of cancer. Relatives of cancer and do not have the disease.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131968756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was made up of basic level teachers, a sociodemographic questionnaire was applied, teachers were evaluated with a self-application instrument on organizational climate, mental health and finally fatigue. Where it was found that 85% that teachers notice alterations and refers to the fact that they are usually noticed in a different, strange or uncomfortable way in difference with other colleagues, it is important to point out the manifestations of apathy that exist among co-workers given the labor characteristics, these sensations continue to appear continuously or never completely disappear. Teachers are affected by their ability to function, in any of their personal and social roles, and they may be considered to suffer from depersonalization-derealization disorder. It is important to point out that they manifest a feeling of not being able to control their movements or that they simply feel like a robot, having little coordination when doing exercises with the students and also that it manifests itself in communication with other teachers. They manifest having emotional and physical numbness in response to living with the world around them. Fear of the social environment under normal characteristics causes emotional exhaustion, a high level of stress and poor mental health, which is why 80% of teachers at the time of the study are considered to have Bournout syndrome.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131406121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an excruciating experience for both mother and daughter since the female identity is not delimited, autonomous, separated, or individuated. Morrison’s Beloved is saturated with conversations that signal actual utterances in the real world, manifesting Kristeva’s concept of abjection through mother-daughter conversational analysis. This study is concerned with how conversational language in terms of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and lexico-syntaic choices can be a psycho-linguistic indicator of psychological functioning. Specific linguistic style, lexical choices, or syntactic variations used by characters implicate psychological tendencies and inclinations since the mental function is a constituent of the textual structure. This article intends to broaden the insights regarding Kristeva's notion of “abjection” in mother-daughter relationship.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131157319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One research question and corresponding hypothesis guided the study. The design of the study was a descriptive research design. A sample of 525 inmates was drawn from a population of 7,348 inmates in all the custodian centres in Delta State. The researchers adopted purposive and non-proportionate stratified simple random sampling techniques for the sample size determination. The instrument for the study was titled Adversity Quotient Scale for Prisoners (AQSP). The AQSP is made up of 96 items delineating inmates feeling adversity. Almost half of the items of the AQSP were positively keyed while the othesr half was negatively keyed. The face and content validities of the instrument were established. The reliability of the instrument was ascertained using internal consistency reliability via Cronbach Alpha technique. A coefficient of 0.95 was obtained. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation, independent sample t–test technique. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the male and female inmates on their Adversity Quotient. This implies that there is nothing to worry about when comparing the adversity level of male and female inmates. The study therefore recommended among others that prison warders should encourage the inmates by giving assignments on biographies of people within and outside the immediate environment of inmates who have distinguished themselves through dint of discipline, hard-work and sheer bravery.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"29 1-2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114034014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To accomplish this, a structured questionnaire was used to answer three research questions that bother on the most preferred, effective, as well as the factors that affect the preferred channel, used for the campaign of birth control. Though all media channel, including the traditional and social media platform was found to be useful and effective, the television, with an outstanding score of 37 percent, followed by the radio that had 25 percent, was found to be more preferred, and effective. Though the radio, with a score of 40 percent, was found to be the most cost effective channel, health workers in the state observe that the television is more accessible and commendable in the campaign for birth control in the State. Despite the effectiveness of the television, results show that the educational level, sociocultural and religious practice of Deltans, were found to impinge on the practice of media campaign for birth control. The study therefore conclude that a robust budget should be made available for the continuous running of mass media campaign, especially the television, for birth control. Furthermore, mass media experts are advised to design media messages that will eradicate the misconceptions, sociocultural, as well as the religious components often associated with mass media campaign for birth control.","PeriodicalId":159519,"journal":{"name":"British journal of Psychology Research","volume":"184 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123333920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
