Compared with classic multi-machine logging complexes, they require significantly less capital, operators, and the cost of moving them from cutting area to cutting area. A number of large and medium-sized timber enterprises have been using breathalyzers for walk-throughs for quite a long time, noting at the same time a significant improve in the situation with labor discipline, and, as a result, with a decrease in the number of accidents and emergency equipment failures. Conclusions are made on ensuring traffic safety on highways. Ecological aspects of the design and construction of logging roads are considered. The main factors affecting the state of the environment and measures to reduce the harmful effects of road construction are noted.
