Monte-Carlo simulation confirmed that the bulk property can be surely recovered in a cubic network if the fraction of conductive sites is in the range of 0.101 to 0.311. Experimental works also indicated that the bulk property of positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of BaTiO3 was recovered after the mixture of the BaTiO3 ceramic powder and silver ink was baked. Moreover, it was shown that the percolation threshold decreased with the increase of the size of ceramic particles, and the PTC bulk property appeared more obviously at higher electrical field. There is a case in which the anti-static additives (ASA) are used in order to avoid malfunction due to the electrification of the epoxy resin. In this report, the electrification phenomena under electric field stress in a high temperature (3-6 kV/mm, 100-155degC) in epoxy resin have been observed on the effect of ASA by using one-and two- dimensional space charge distribution measurement system. From the results of space charge measurement, it was found that the epoxy resin with ASA have made the following effect to the space charge formation by the high-temperature(100,155degC) and electric field charging (10 kV/1.5 mm, 6 kV/1.5 mm). CIGRE WG D1.14 aims to establish new test procedure, dynamic drop test. That can evaluate the property of hydrophobicity loss of silicone rubber easily and with small systems. So, we clarified the relation between processes of hydrophobicity deterioration or loss and leakage current waveform in dynamic drop test. The hydrophobic conditions were classified into three categories. In the condition of keeping hydrophobicity, pulse discharges were repeatedly observed at the time when droplets ran down. As hydrophobicity deteriorated, small water droplets remained on the surface and many pulse discharges were observed when the droplets ran down. The tendency of the current ingredient of 60 Hz became more dominant and discharge light started to be observed continuously regardless of the timing of the droplets just before when hydrophobicity lost. Then it was considered that a thin moisture layer was formed on the surface, although only droplets were observed with the naked eye. It is believed that a positive packet-like charge is injected from the anode, and after that a negative packet charge is injected from the cathode. In the samples with relatively low content of MgO, the apparent velocity of positive packet-like charge in LDPE/MgO (nano) is faster than that in LDPE/MgO (micro) at a field of 150 kV/mm. Such generation of charges causes the enhancement of local electric field in the sample. However, almost no packet-like charge was observed in the sample with relatively high content of MgO irrespective of the filler size. It was found that the characteristics of electrical trees in inner layer of 66 kV cable insulation differed greatly from that in outer layer under the same test condition; however, few differences appeared as to 110 kV and above voltage rating cables. Through X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry method, it was suggested that besides extrusion process, molecular weight of base polymer material and its distribution are the prime factors deciding crystallization state, while the crystallization state and impurity content are responsible for the resistivity to electrical trees. The devices consisted of CVTpsilas, surge arresters, and CTpsilas. The results show The muWAVE VISION is effective in the detection of hot spots in CVTpsilas and there is strong correlation between changes in the electrical properties (power factor, partial discharge, and capacitance) and the increase in the apparent temperature at the hot spot location of the device under test as measured by the muWAVE VISION. Its effectiveness for the detection of hot spots in other devices requires more testing of such devices. Initial results are encouraging. In this study, effects of environmental conditions on PD characteristics in twisted pairs with conventional and nanocomposite enameled magnet wires were investigated. Measurements of the PD inception voltage (PDIV) and an amount of the PD charge were performed by applying an ac sinusoidal waveform voltage of 60 Hz to the twisted pair. The observed PDIV in this study can be classified into the following three behaviors. First, the PDIV in both wires decreases with increasing relative humidity (RH) at low temperature. Secondly, the PDIV in both wires slightly increases when increasing the RH at high temperature. Thirdly, the PDIV in the conventional enameled wire significantly decreases at 95%RH, while the decrease rate of that in the nanocomposite enameled wire is relatively small. Homo charge injection was observed in silicone as anticipated on one hand. Hetero charge injection was unexpectedly observed in acrylic elastomer on the other hand. This peculiar behavior might be related to material composition and additives. Multiple successive hetero charge injection and even homo and hetero charge double injection were observed in the acrylnitrile and acrylic elastomers used. A multiple injection process is interesting to be explored further. As a result of TG, composites with surface modified nano-silica possessed better thermal stability than that with pristine nano-silica. This paper will show how measurements can be synchronized to the global positioning system and how the information provided by synchronized detectors can be exploited.
