It also examines community support, perceived benefits, perceived cost association and influence on innovative, sustainable tourism development. Mixed methods, which comprise qualitative and quantitative data, have been applied. The research frameworks have been adapted after a comprehensive literature review. The framework encompasses six constructs - community empowerment, integrated communication strategies and their influence on community support, perceived benefits and perceived cost to understand the empirical evidence. The findings elucidate that community empowerment and communication are prominent predictors in creating consensus and acceptability of local communities to encourage innovative, sustainable tourism to support Oman's diversified economic drive. The findings can be used as a reference document for future studies.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"93 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141812527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Namibia is no exception. Endowed with natural beauty wildlife, deserts, and beautiful beaches the tourism sector is clearly acknowledged in the development policies and plans. Despite this, there are few comprehensive studies that deal with strategic aspects of neither the tourism sector nor frameworks to enhance innovative tourism for sustainable development. Due to such precincts and lack of comprehensive research, strategic management of tourism and its development to the fullest potential is difficult. Tourism is a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation is a reckoned global phenomenon. International tourist arrivals to SSA have been on increase making it one of the fastest-growing regions in the world. Hence, adopting an exploratory approach with a systematic literature review with contextual analysis this study aims to fill this gap and deliberates on the requisite strategic framework for innovative tourism and sustainable development in Namibia.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"162 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127384322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Internet can be used to attract customers, communicate with them, customize their required services, access international markets, and provide all types of touristic information through e-tourism platforms. The salient feature of this research is to identify the key technological factors that influence customers' acceptance and use of the services provided through e-tourism platforms. Other behavioral aspects related to the use of these services are treated as exogenous factors. The study constructed an e-tourism technology acceptance model (ETAM) concentrating only on technology-related factors. To assist in understanding how users will reflect in these four technological factors affecting the use of e-services, the model recognizes two moderating influential factors: trust and attitude. The model is augmented with exogenous factors as intervening factors related to customer's background.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132521206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purposive sampling technique was employed for the collection of the study data. Two hundred questionnaires were distributed to the customers of the selected cafeterias. The data gathered was analyzed by employing structural equation modelling (SEM) supported by AMOS 23.0 with maximum likelihood estimation in order to test the proposed hypothesis for the study. From the analysis of the data, tangibility was statistically having significant relationship with customer satisfaction. The result indicates that responsiveness, empathy, and assurance have insignificant relationships with customer satisfaction of the selected cafeterias.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"173 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126994685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the pattern of the effect of organizational tenure on the PsyCap of employees in the hospitality and tourism industry was mined. The PsyCap and length of service data of a sample of 329 employees working in some organizations related to hospitality and tourism were collected. The odds ratio was deployed to measure the pattern and strength of association and the findings showed that employees who stay longer years in an organization are 3.6 times more likely to exhibit high PsyCap than those who stay shorter periods. With the positive pattern of this association, it implies that indiscriminate retrenchment of long-serving employees should be avoided to preserve PsyCap within the industry.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134642129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research will use Google Trends as the innovative technology and using the data from Google search queries to measure relationship from searches to visitors. This examination will include literature review and data collection methods. Furthermore, the quantitative measures will include the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (Pearson) and Time-Series Linear Modeling (TSLM), which accounts for seasonal and trending values. The data from the state parks were provided by the Public Information Office of the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation. Additionally, the search query data was collected from Google Trends. Two locations within the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina were selected due to the exclusivity of the locations and to capture visit behavior in search queries. Those locations are Mount Mitchell State Park and Grandfather Mountain State Park.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132586049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relationship between these variables is one of the keys to the organizational success, although their study has proved to be complex. The purpose of this article is to analyse the impact of leadership on the relationship between innovation and performance in the Portuguese hotel sector. To answer to this challenge, a survey was carried out to top and middle managers of four-star and five-star hotel units. The existence of a positive correlation between innovation and performance was found; however, leadership has not been shown to have a moderating effect on the relationship. The work highlights several important contributions to the hotel industry and identifies aspects that, when well implemented and developed, can lead to superior performance in organizations.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"4 22","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120902051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data presented are based on secondary and primary research. Secondary research includes the literature review and content analysis of documents. The qualitative research included a questionnaire survey among guests of the gastronomic establishments and entrepreneurs. Partial least squares variant of linear discriminant analysis (PLS-LDA) and partial least squares (PLS) as an alternative to standard multivariate methods were used to show the gastronomic establishments guests' and entrepreneurs' opinions on local seasonal food and beverages. The opinions are moreover related to the economically driven interest of guests and entrepreneurs. Based on the typical random variable source, data were gathered from three Czech regions covering the scope of this study. The significant disputes between opinions on local food and beverages are directly applicable in practice, including individual items.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"175 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124322004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the current paper, the author develops a framework based on the protection motivation theory and designs a robust model, that focuses on how prospective Western patients intend to seek medical treatment in Asian countries. Through an extensive review of extant literature, the author presents five propositions involving key elements of the theoretical framework and makes insightful projections about the future of this flourishing industry. The author believes that this research will immensely benefit the hospitality industry and healthcare practitioners and patients.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125669783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of the study is to develop a proper value chain mapping on Birbhum tourism, along with generation of different strategies for the integration of other variable resources with local communities. The study also aims at developing different maps on tourism value chain along with some distinct sub-chains in the entire Birbhum district. Local development of Birbhum tourism can be possible through proper value chain mapping. Through mapping of proper value chain, Birbhum tourism will gradually develop as a major strength of West Bengal's economic development. In this paper, the authors addressed the relationship between the supply of products from firm level to tourist in the tourist spot and the impact of value chain mapping (VCM). The current work emphasizes on the enhancement of the local tourism through uninterrupted activities of VCM, developing the socio-economic structure of the tourism through flow of proper VCM.","PeriodicalId":158665,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management in the Digital Age","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115703946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
