Currently, diabetes is a disease that affects one in ten adults in the world and the biggest challenge for people that have it has been to keep their glycemic indexes stable, according to the values indicated as ideal. With the technological innovations that exist nowadays, developing a patient care system to support their need for monitoring glycemic indexes is becoming increasingly accessible and practical. In this context, this work aims to present a mobile solution, called Glycosa, to help on the control of the glycemic index for diabetes of all types. In the data analysis performed in this work, it is demonstrated the effectiveness of the system during its operation, which, in summary, allows the registration and consultation of the glycemic indexes of the users, the generation of graphs of the data recorded and the creation of reminders for their measurements. By performing these tasks, the system guarantees a level of assistance for the patients, so that they do not forget about the monitoring of their glycemic index at predefined times, in order to improve the quality of life. In addition, it is possible to record the contact of a caregiver, who receives warning signs in case of high or low blood glucose after the registration by the user. Thus, the solution brings contributions in the way of conducting diabetes treatment since it enables a data analysis structure, which provides the medical team with a tool to optimize treatment management.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116995193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The virtualization of movements is a relevant research area on technological evolution. Its applicability can be useful in several segments and the social distance has propelled this technology for application in areas such as education. However, not every institution has financial support to develop or use this technology. The objective of this work is to demonstrate an experimental study of movement virtualization, based on platforms accessible on the market, in order to demonstrate a solution that can meet the demands of immersion in virtual reality of institutions from different areas on the market (such as schools, hospitals etc.). During the experiments, the upper limbs were evaluated, with assessment of moments of rest, opening and closing hands and effort. As a result, it is proposed a device capable of demonstrating this kind of movements, with material costs of about 306.00 Brazilian Reais, which represents an affordable investment. Despite its limitations, the present work represents a relevant case study for institutions that wish to invest in this technology but need more accessible resources and techniques.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121688194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People usually do not give proper attention to their hearing care. The hearing assessment usually occurs as an effect of a nuisance which motivates the person to search for professional treatment. Based on this, the present research demonstrates a mobile application aimed at assisting otolaryngology, capable of measuring levels of deafness of users through sound tests at different levels of decibels and determining whether the environment in which the user is being is harmful to their hearing. During the research, a solution was developed with the association of mobile and cloud computing technologies on a prototype implementation. Experiments were carried out and they demonstrated the ability to collect data on hearing capability on the following frequencies 65, 100, 500, 1K, 5K, 10K and 14KHz. Experiments on how the tool worked at different times of the day were carried out, with evaluations of the best results for each ear of the user. The feature of the tool to manage hearing was verified, both by the doctor and the user, on the hearing capability. The proposed structure proved to be able to receive optimizations based on Machine Learning for issues relevant to the medical field.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134108740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The opinion of the population regarding a certain product or service is particularly important for an institution, and with this information it is possible to analyze the quality of the service offered. During the Covid-19 pandemic, conducting this type of satisfaction survey became even more valuable when carried out on social networks, where everyone is connected and sharing their experiences. By collecting the texts published by Twitter users about higher education institutions in Brazil, it was possible to carry out an analysis of feelings, where analytical data were obtained regarding the satisfaction of students with their respective universities during a pandemic and social isolation. Relevant complexity was found for the natural language assessment and emotional analysis process for the context of the Portuguese language (slang, misspellings, emojis), but an effective experiment methodology was proposed, tested and validated. As a result, expressive evaluations of universities active in the Brazilian scenario were obtained, with a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the emotions that are present on the internet about the institution. It is worth mentioning that emotions such as the desire to leave home, tiredness due to excessive hours on computers for classes and other issues that are commonly discussed, were found during the research, which reinforced the social importance of the work.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124949569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Mobile Applications and Cloud Computing Applied on a Solution to Optimize the Auscultation Process","authors":"Paulo Estevão de Oliveira Ferreira","doi":"10.33422/5th.icmets.2022.02.85","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33422/5th.icmets.2022.02.85","url":null,"abstract":"Auscultation measurement is one of the primary processes of medical education. Despite its extreme importance, the number of patients who are delegated to students for their care depends on the frequency of patients at the clinic where they perform their practices, which may be sufficient or not (in the pandemic period of COVID-19, the Brazilian hospitals had a high demand for professionals in the medical field, emptying school clinics). In addition, it is relevant for the teachers to compare the auscultation diagnosis that their students made with the signal that was actually collected in the process. This work proposes a method that aims to assist the teaching of cardiac auscultation techniques in medical courses, as well as to generate a structure that can share the measurements, in addition to recording them via Cloud Computing for further evaluation by the teacher. To achieve this goal, this project aims on developing two applications: a web and a mobile application. The mobile application is responsible to capture the sounds generated during the auscultation process using a hardware adapted on a stethoscope and a microphone. The audios collected are saved in the cloud using the Cloud Firestore platform and can be accessed through both web and mobile platforms. The framework also enables the implementation of a data analysis tool for medical teaching strategies.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130736353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"SIGMUND: Optimization of DISC Methodology and distribution of groups with Machine Learning","authors":"Cleiton Silva Ribeiro","doi":"10.33422/5th.icmets.2022.02.15","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33422/5th.icmets.2022.02.15","url":null,"abstract":". In this work, the SIGMUND software is presented and an optimization process for the behavioral assessment questionnaire used in DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Compliance) methodology is described. DISC is a tool that sets out to establish objectives aligned with the professional profile of employees by measuring strengths and weaknesses to achieve better results. This questionnaire is typically expensive because it covers several aspects through a broad variety of questions to assess the professional profile. Therefore, in this work, the Bagged Decision Trees (BDT) algorithm was implemented to reduce the number of questions without losing the quality of the test. The BDT estimates the importance of attributes within a database, returning a score for each attribute. In this algorithm, the higher the score, the greater the importance. After optimizing the questionnaire, it was used to define the profile of candidates and, subsequently, it was created academic groups that allow for better interaction and experience between members. As these groups are created randomly or by free choice, there may be conflicts or even not taking full advantage of the contribution that each one would have if the profile of these members were taken into account. For the creation of these smart groups based on the profile of the candidate, the K-means clustering algorithm was applied to define an ideal number of people in each group to guarantee that there is a balance. As a result, the BDT managed to reduce the number of questions by 52% with an accuracy level of 75.8% and for the division of groups in equal variation, the K-means obtained an accuracy of 97%.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122086787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Would it be possible to use Cloud Computing, mobile solutions and Data Analytics to create a record of the entire medical history of an individual? Would it be possible to give to the patient the power to share information, so that they could be attended by any clinic or hospital? In order to use modern technologies to provide health care through the creation of a medical history and with a focus on assisting doctors in the diagnosis (providing a graphic record that enables the monitoring and analysis of frequent cases of symptoms), a solution ‘What Did I Do’ was developed that encompasses the previous mentioned technologies. Through this application, the registration of symptoms, exams, consultations and medicine for each user is performed, generating a graphical analysis of the well-being patterns of the patient. One of the contributions of this platform is the participation of doctors and patients in the process, however the power of sharing data is defined by the patient, who shares his information with the doctors they trust. On the other hand, the doctor, when taking care of the patient, has access to an updated history. An experimental study was developed where it was possible to glimpse the capability of the developed platform to store and use data to find patterns of behaviors and frequencies of events, to help and study pre-dispositions and disease prevention. This contribution of the tool is given by the standardization of data collection that enables the use of Machine Learning and Data analysis for optimized patient management.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122207339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diabetes makes feeding complex, especially for children. This situation brings several challenges to the family and the children during their life, especially in social life moments. Would a tool based on technologies such as mobile solution, gamification, and data analysis be possible to help families in this situation? In order to facilitate the control of Diabetes Mellitus types 1 and 2, the PetDiabet application was developed with the proposal of a virtual pet simulator. This mobile application aims to effectively help on the treatment of Diabetes through a therapeutic resource interactive play, allowing patients, especially children and adolescents, to have more autonomy in relation to their condition. The application follows a therapeutic technique called carbohydrate counting, which consists of adjusting the glycemia of the patient based on the quantification of carbohydrates that they will ingest at each meal. By keeping track of carbohydrates consumption, the application can calculate the insulin dosage necessary for the treatment and provide greater versatility in the diet of the user that has. diabetes. One of the key points of the presented application is that it is based on gamification, to provide more engagement to the user, when registering their daily blood glucose dosages, their meals, and when reaching goals. By doing that, the user can be rewarded by earning virtual coins, that can be used on the development of their Virtual Pet in the application. This approach makes the treatment of the diabetes condition more natural and fun. The data collected during the use of the application enables a structured analysis to optimize the patient follow-up for the doctors involved. on mobile devices, it was designed and built from the learning, control and treatment needs of children who have type 1 diabetes mellitus. DM-1, monitoring the values of what will be consumed during the daily food routine of its users, in addition to capillary blood glucose tests and the amount of insulin administered by patients. It has informative and didactic content with illustrative details that aim to stimulate knowledge and adherence to the proposed treatment in a playful and interactive way.","PeriodicalId":158623,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 5th International Conference on Modern Research in Engineering, Technology and Science","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126997541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
