The current specification defines a particular algorithm for calculating the challenge response that uses the MD5 hash of a combination of user name, realm, and password. Unfortunately, a lot of authentication systems maintain the user credentials protected with a one-way function (usually a hash) in a way that is incompatible with the information required by the current HTTP Digest Authentication. Some examples are given by the mechanisms used for storing passwords by the Unix OS, LDAP servers, or other applications. In this paper, we propose to extends the original HTTP Digest Authentication by adding a new and flexible scheme that uses an arbitrary hash function and an arbitrary combination of various information such as user name, realm, password, salt, and/or other data. The proposed authentication scheme has been implemented within two testbeds in which a SIP UA authenticates itself with a remote proxy server (acting as authenticator) that uses respectively a LDAP server or a userspsila password file of a Joomla Content Management System.","PeriodicalId":157790,"journal":{"name":"2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130167961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such methodologies assure a higher probability of success for tactically critical operations on military fields. The manual analysis of simulation results is a very time-consuming task and requires expert knowledge to correctly interpret these results. This paper briefly defines those concepts of an expert system also used in the design of our system for automatic expert analysis regarding those simulations results obtained by an OPNET modeler. It presents some analyses algorithms which we have developed for tactical network evaluation. The more important parameters that evaluate tactical networks are: transmitter bandwidth utilization, traffic delays, message completion rates and radio visibility. The functionalities and implementation of a developed expert system are also described in the context of the whole system for simulating tactical networks.","PeriodicalId":157790,"journal":{"name":"2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131076347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ambitious target is to halve the number of fatal car accidents by 2010. Up to now, research efforts have been mainly focused on the idea of making cars safer and safer; now, the focus is to exploit new technologies in order to reduce probability of car accidents. This paper deals with the possibility of integrating two technologies, chaos based anticollision radars and image analysis systems, in order to provide the driver as much information as possible about the environment where his vehicle is moving, to reduce and possibly cancel the risk of collisions. Preliminary results are presented about the performance of an automatic vision system to be used in cooperation with an anticollision radar system, and possible scenarios of converging technologies are outlined.","PeriodicalId":157790,"journal":{"name":"2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122555517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Concrete construction elements are often used as support structures and on the facade of the building, but they are vulnerable to manufacturing defects as well as being damaged on-site. Such defects can create a lot of additional costs to all parties involved in the project. Discovering and communicating about errors can be problematic as normally quality assurance is done manually and data is stored in paper format. Our research concentrated on automating the quality assurance of concrete elements. The task was approached by embedding RFID-tags in the elements enabling them to be identified wirelessly and associated with information in a data system. In field conditions users identify the construction elements with a mobile phone and interact electronically with the quality assurance system. As the information is created in digital form, the system can analyze it to detect errors and react automatically, notifying people responsible of faults. This paper presents the implementation of the system and discusses challenges and benefits.","PeriodicalId":157790,"journal":{"name":"2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115221529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have proposed earlier an approach used an adaptive algorithm for packet routing using reinforcement learning called K-optimal path Q-routing algorithm (KOQRA) which optimizes simultaneously two additive QoS criteria: cumulative cost path and end-to-end delay. The approach developed here adds a new module to KOQRA dealing with the packet scheduling topic in order to achieve QoS differentiation and to optimize the queuing delay in a dynamically wireless changing environment. This module uses a multi-agent system in which each agent tries to optimize its own behaviour and communicate with other agents to make global coordination possible. This communication is done by mobile agents. In this paper, we adopt the framework of Markov decision process applied to multi-agent system and present a pheromone-Q learning approach which combines the standard Q-learning technique with a synthetic pheromone that acts as a communication medium speeding up the learning process of cooperating agents. Numerical results obtained with OPNET simulator for different levels of trafficpsilas load show that adaptive scheduling improves clearly performances of our earlier KOQRA.","PeriodicalId":157790,"journal":{"name":"2008 16th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131750555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The formulation is posed in the frequency domain and it is based on the corresponding Pocklington equation.
