ALO was used to find the weights and biases of the MLP to achieve a minimum error and a high classification rate. Four standard classification datasets were used to benchmark the performance of the proposed method. In addition, the performance of the proposed method were compared with three well-known optimization algorithms, namely, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The experimental results showed that the ALO algorithm with the MLP was very competitive as it solved the local optima problem and achieved a high accuracy rate.","PeriodicalId":154645,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116929629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, deriving risk is very important for preventing and corresponding accidents. Most analysis methods have indicated risk by connecting same risk value as contour. However, those methods did not explained risk among facility in a specific area. This paper aims to propose zone-based risk analysis in order to evaluate numerically individual risk about dangerous facilities around limited area. Furthermore, this research develops zone-based risk analysis engine in order to suggest individual risk per cell called zone.","PeriodicalId":154645,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122834818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The controller parameters, Proportional (Kp), Integral gain (Ki) values, were optimized and properly tuned using the Stochastic Particle Swarm Optimization (SPSO) technique. Investigate power system comprises suitable governor, reheater and generator units. Three different objective functions are considered for investigation, Integral Absolute Error (IAE), Integral Square Error (ISE) and Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) with one percent Step Load (1% SLP). Finally, simulation results show that IAE based PI controller response settled quickly with minimum over and undershoot compared to other objective function based controller performance.","PeriodicalId":154645,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116675099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The texture analysis is concerned with the understanding of any object surface. The texture analysis has wide application in computer vision and pattern recognition. Haralick features describe the different gray scale features. For the wooden surface, each wooden surface has its own unique pattern. In this paper, a system is proposed to identify the wooden surface using the textural features (Haralick features) presented in its surface. This system was designed based on feature extraction and by correlating the features of those wooden and non-wooden surfaces for their classification. A multi-layer feed forward neural network was then trained with fast-back propagation to identify wooden and non-wooden surface. The proposed system was able to classify the wooden and non-wooden texture up to 94.10% accuracy. The obtained result showed a high rate of classification accuracy using very 13 features comparing to the most related work.","PeriodicalId":154645,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134284270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose two sets of gateway and sensor nodes for monitoring gas facilities. They improve the efficiency of comprehensive management, including collecting sensing data and controlling gas-related risk factors, at remote gas facility sites with IoT-based monitoring systems. In addition, because of their different characteristics in hardware and communication protocols, they provide an option to select suitable devices that consider the surrounding environment. In order to evaluate the proposed devices, we properly installed gateways and sensor nodes near operating gas facilities and verified their operation.","PeriodicalId":154645,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134371625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
