Abstract

In this work Proportional-Integral (PI) controller was designed and proposed for Load Frequency Control (LFC) of a single area reheat thermal power system. The controller parameters, Proportional (Kp), Integral gain (Ki) values, were optimized and properly tuned using the Stochastic Particle Swarm Optimization (SPSO) technique. Investigate power system comprises suitable governor, reheater and generator units.
