Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan unsur magnesium pada pengujian fatik dan porositas, dengan metode pengecoran bahan aluminium piston motor bekas menggunakan tungku induksi dengan temperatur penuangan sebesar 700°C. Pada pengujian fatik penambahan unsur magnesium sebesar 1% mendapatkan nilai siklus sebesar 5.100, dan variasi 1,5% mendapatkan nilai siklus sebesar 5.220 dan variasi 2% mendapatkan nilai siklus 5.420.
