In this this paper, an innovative method as the proof of the Beal's conjecture is proposed. Introduced approach is based on wave model and provides a novel point of view in the topic of prime numbers. Employed wave model suggests an analogy between prime numbers and frequency, and may provide a valuable approach in mathematics.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"29 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124139659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These transformational changes can be brought about by improving their listening skills, observational capacities, creating awareness, making them more attentive and intervening. Specialised tools and techniques are employed through the course of therapy which not only alters but also accentuates their cognitive and effective understanding. The idea of amalgamating these two broad ambits: the complexities of psychology and dynamism of artificial intelligence has gained momentum in recent times. This review focuses on how machine intelligence through computer-implemented psychotherapeutic tools can enhance self-awareness through computer-implemented psychotherapeutic tools can enhance self-awareness.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114392029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conducting a randomized controlled trial in collaboration with an education company, we evaluate how providing teachers with AI assistance impacts students’ academic outcomes. We find that providing AI-generated reports to teachers significantly improves students’ study effort and performance, although those effects vary by teacher and class characteristics. Consistent with the organizational literature on technology and worker productivity, our findings indicate that technology overload could undermine teachers’ effective use of AI coaching despite its highly accurate diagnostic ability and ready availability. Although some teachers did not utilize the AI coaching program, we found positive effects among the students of both compliers and non-compliers. We, therefore, decompose our results to identify direct and spillover effects on students’ academic performance and show that failing to account for spillover effects across teachers (externality among peers) and within teachers (learning-by-doing across students) may understate the effects of AI coaching. Finally, we provide practical guidelines for implementing technology in educational settings.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133547691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Equivalently, in an undirected graph, the average degree of the nodes is no greater than the average degree of the terminal node of a random walk of length one. We generalize this result in two ways: (1) by considering directed graphs, which also allow one-sided relations, such as between followers and leaders; and (2) by characterizing the relations between the expected values of the in and out degrees of the terminal nodes of random alternating walks of length 2k and 2k+1, where k is nonnegative. The limiting value of these averages is proportional to the largest singular value of the associated adjacency matrix, and to its largest eigenvalue in the special case of an undirected graph. We interpret the results for one-sided relations (e.g., between leaders and followers) and two-sided relations (e.g., between friends). We further relate such extension to centrality measures. We show that beta centrality approaches eigenvector centrality when the inverse of the weighting parameter becomes arbitrarily close to the limiting value of the expected degree of the terminal node of a random walk of length k. When relations are asymmetric, this observation extends to the singular vectors of the associated directed graph.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115992029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It outlines how specific norms and rules secure the autonomy of science (the 'constitutive function') as well as defining the limits of the operations of science with respect to other social systems and the individuals in their environments (the 'limitative function'). It also discusses to what extent complex trends and dynamics in the current science system can be understood in terms of a constitutional recalibration, in which the unleashed dynamism of scientific and technological innovation is counteracted by a varied array of norm‐producing initiatives, such as the increasing importance of ethics bodies in research, public engagement strategies, and initiatives aimed at 'open science' and 'responsible research and innovation'.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127418556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper reports on a research project in a hoshuu-koo institution, a Japanese supplementary school, and explores the experiences of a group of Year 7 students. This study was initiated by identifying to what extent JHL learners can recognise their own skills, especially in proficiency in kanji, one of the Japanese scripts. It was predicted that several elements could relate to the accuracy of self-evaluation. By exploring levels of self-evaluation skills and the elements concerned in Japanese learning, the aim of the research was to help develop differentiated curriculum in the future. Data were based on student performance on kanji tests and answers to questionnaires, and the Excel Correl Function was used to calculate correlation coefficients. Graphs were also used to analyse the data. It was found that students who had relatively high kanji proficiency, especially in higher year levels, recognised their own skills but an overall overestimation was found amongst other students. Specific areas of kanji learning, such as okurigana and radicals, were identified as areas that need to be enhanced for appropriate self-evaluation for most of the students. Learning environment related to evaluation skills was also identified. Concluding comments centre on implications for further teaching approaches and research on the enhancement of kanji self-evaluation skills.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"260 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115499273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample of the study includes 78 male and female students in the Department of English / College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences of the University of Baghdad, Iraq during the academic year 2016/2017. The sample is divided into a control group with 38 students and experimental group with 40 ones. After checking the equalization of the two groups in certain related variables, the researchers conduct the experiment in which the students in the experimental group are taught writing and practice it in pairs, while those in the control group are dealt with conventionally (individually). The data collection tools employed in this study; a writing post-test and second language writing anxiety inventory, are conducted on the sample at the end of the experiment. The results achieved are statistically manipulated and discussed according to which a number of conclusions are drawn, and a set of recommendations are put forward.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114534894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also investigates the causal relationship between students who have passed in the school-based oral evaluation (SBOE) with fear of negative evaluation. The participants are 302 of form four students and four English teachers from the Putrajaya Federal Territory government secondary schools in Malaysia. It is a mixed-method study in which the data were collected in sequential, analysed separately, and then explained. The quantitative data were collected by using FLCAS, the School-Based Oral Evaluation (SBOE) results and the qualitative data were collected from the semi-structured interviews with the English teachers and guidelines on SBOE from the Ministry of Education Malaysia. The quantitative method used descriptive statistical analysis, whereas the qualitative method used content analysis. Students’ result in the mid-term examination 2017 shown that they had scored high marks in the SBOE. The quantitative results revealed that the students had experienced low mean level of fear of negative evaluation. The teachers reported that students had shown positive attitude during the SBOE and English class interaction. They were focused, confident, responsive and not panic. There is a positive washback effect of SBOE on the students’ result. High results in SBOE affected the mean level of fear of negative evaluation. The partial eta-squared showed the value of 0.106 which is considered high. This study suggests two broad future tasks. The first task involves the development of national curriculum in English language which is dependent upon oral English language. The second task focuses on the development of English language training and skills for the English teachers.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131526450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Relatively perishable food contaminated with bacteria and on average has a short shelf life so that the necessary treatment is good and right. Gamma ray irradiation technology is a technology that can inhibit microbes/pathogens that damage the quality of food that causes dangerous diseases such as Escherichia coli, Camphylobacter jejuni, Listeria mono, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella, some pathogenic bacteria are very sensitive to exposure gamma rays, with low doses can kill some types of pathogenic bacteria. Gamma ray irradiation technology has several advantages that can keep food stays fresh, does not cause loss of nutritional food, and irradiation can be directly carried out on the product in the packaging. This study investigated the dosage of gamma ray irradiation in inhibiting the growth of microbes on food by reviewing some references. Gamma irradiation can reduce even kill pathogenic microbes on foodstuffs in accordance with the dosage of treatment goals which resulted 10 kGy is the safe dose limit.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"687 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128495426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research I use quasi-experimental longitudinal data from mentoring relationships to examine whether access to a mentor and mobilization of that mentor’s educational resources affect an adolescent’s cultural capital, habitus, and academic achievement. The results suggest that access to college-educated mentors has some positive effects on adolescents’ cultural capital, habitus, and academic achievement, while access to less educated mentors has limited effects. Moreover, only those relationships in which mobilization of the mentor’s educational resources occurs through educational discussions and activities lead to positive outcomes. These findings suggest that matching low-income and racial minority adolescents with adults who are both college educated and willing to engage in educational activities and discussions with adolescents may serve to attenuate inequality through increased cultural capital, habitus, and academic achievement.","PeriodicalId":153695,"journal":{"name":"Cognition in Mathematics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133412182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
