This contribution shows the influence on the sensitivity of a real short-wave receiving station by such a PLC transmission in the house. Measurements and numerical calculations have been compared. The reduction of the signal to noise ratio due to the PLC link and the main reasons for the disturbance is shown.","PeriodicalId":153251,"journal":{"name":"International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2005.","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121036393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study this transmission and suppression, a channel modeling method based on the transmission-matrix theory is proposed in this paper. And the proposed modeling accuracy is evaluated by using an LCL probe, which the authors had developed. As an application example of the proposed model, the channel capacity depending on the electrical unbalance of power-line channels is approximated for the common-mode signal transmission.","PeriodicalId":153251,"journal":{"name":"International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2005.","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127271826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fuzzy adaptive equalizers are adaptive equalizers that apply the concepts of fuzzy logic. The main merit of applying fuzzy adaptive equalizers in powerline channel equalization is that linguistic information (fuzzy IF-THEN rules) and numerical information (input-output pairs) can be combined into the equalizers. The adaptive algorithms adjust the parameters of the membership functions, which characterize the fuzzy concepts in the IF-THEN rules, by minimizing some criterion function. In this paper, we introduce a new type of fuzzy adaptive equalizer using extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm for powerline channel equalization. The performance for this type of fuzzy adaptive equalizer is compared with two other types of fuzzy adaptive equalizers using recursive least squares (RLS) and least mean squares (LMS) adaption algorithm. The simulation results show that extended Kalman filter based fuzzy adaptive equalizer has faster convergent speed compared to the other two fuzzy adaptive equalizers. The bit error rate of extended Kalman filter based fuzzy adaptive equalizer is close to that of the optimal equalizer.","PeriodicalId":153251,"journal":{"name":"International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2005.","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125590793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The immediate consequence is the need for interconnection of all these devices. Power line communications (PLC) may be an excellent candidate to become the networking solution only if several drawbacks are overcome. Power line technologies allow reaching aggregated throughputs of up to 200 Mbps. However, channels are noisy, and overall capacity must be shared among several nodes and different vendors that coexist in the same medium. Besides, FCC regulations impose low power transmission and notching. It is therefore essential to maximize the efficiency of the technology to reach performance levels competitive for audio/video technologies.","PeriodicalId":153251,"journal":{"name":"International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2005.","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129838742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared with conventional in door PLC channels [M. Zimmer et al., 2002] [K. We have achieved to transfer the data with 450 kbit/s and control one transporter remotely. In the first section of this paper, the contactless data transmission and its system components are briefly reviewed. In the second section, the equivalent circuit model of the communication channel is presented and the parameters are estimated.
