Many power saving methods have been proposed in the literature. Among them, approaches based on the grid quorum systems are common. In a grid quorum based power saving protocol, the grid size is an important factor to the sleep ratio. A larger grid size implies a higher sleep ratio and hence less power consumption, but, on the other hand, it will lead to longer neighbor discovery time. To tackle this dilemma, this study proposed a power saving protocol based on rectangular grid quorums for wireless ad hoc networks. The proposed protocol dynamically adjusts the row sizes of the rectangular grid quorums according to different traffic load conditions so as to effectively conserve power. An overwhelming majority of marketers have noticed the great opportunity to diffuse information by this platform. However, most of the diffusion mechanisms are for a certain mobile social media, which can not reflect the characteristics of innovation diffusion in whole mobile Internet. In this paper, we use a three-step method to identify the hidden relations among different users, and establish a number of interest-based communities based on the characteristics of mobile Internet. Considering the structure of these communities and user preferences, we propose a novel diffusion mechanism. They are lightweight, thin, and convenient for carry and their functionality is akin to a portable computer. However, these devices are normally equipped with small displays. At times when a larger screen is needed, such as when sharing information, watching videos, or discussing in groups of people, the physical device must be passed between all members in the group. Therefore, this study proposes a convenient way to integrate the resources, including display, computation, communication, etc., of multiple mobile devices to create a portable cloud for various applications. This study focused on display integration, combining multiple device screens into one large screen for data display, interaction, and sharing in meetings, for entertainment, or at school. The screens of mobile devices in different locations can also be integrated to create a dynamic billboard. This study also incorporated near field communication (NFC) to share data from one device with all other integrated devices. PCNP is an ideal alternative of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to quantify weights of attributes which are used in clustering process. An access point (AP) follows J-MAC, which employs multiple array antennas, and user equipments (UEs) follow the IEEE 802.11x standard which employ omni-directional MIMO antennas. J-MAC maintains full compatibility with 802.11x, and UEs do not change any more. In J-MAC, firstly, the AP achieves the weight vector for the array antenna-based beamforming, and updates it periodically. Secondly, before transmitting any data-frame, the AP achieves the weight vector for the MIMO-based beamforming, which should be updated in each transmission. Finally, after getting the joint beamforming, the AP transmits its data-frames to multiple UEs simultaneously. However, heavy burden on the non-ideal fronthaul limits performances of C-RANs. Here we focus on the alleviation of burden on the fronthaul via the edge devices' caches and propose a fog computing based RAN (F-RAN) architecture with three candidate transmission modes: device to device, local distributed coordination, and global C-RAN. Followed by the proposed simple mode selection scheme, the average energy efficiency (EE) of systems optimization problem considering congestion control is presented. Under the Lyapunov framework, the problem is reformulated as a joint mode selection and resource allocation problem, which can be solved by block coordinate descent method. However, the infrastructure for accommodating these vehicles has grown relatively slow. Alleviating the pressure on the urban transport system and solving the `parking difficulty' problem have thus become hot topics recently. In this paper, an intelligent parking system based on geomagnetic field variations is presented to solve this problem. An algorithm which detects the presence of vehicles in parking spaces in a parking lot is designed and field test results are presented. In order to maximize system throughput while satisfying the minimum user rate requirement, the resource allocation is modeled as a convex optimization with constraints in this paper, which is proved to be NP-hard. Hence, a heuristic approach based on joint Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) is proposed. The proposed method exploits the benefits of GA and PSO so that it could avoid the low speed problem of genetic algorithm and the local optimum trap concern in particle swarm optimization algorithm. The system is composed of reliable network connection with wireless mesh networks and widely deployed sensor nodes. With smart sensing, transmission and processing for the states of manufacturing facilities, products and production procedures, the system can exert efficient surveillance and control over the manufacturing procedure. Based on this system, this paper further designs a method for scheduling subtasks both among facilities and inside each facility. The method is implemented by Genetic Algorithm for optimization objectives such as minimizing overall production delay and minimizing overall production cost. In SDNs, a logical centralized programmable controller manages the whole networks by installing rules onto switches. It is widely regarded that one controller is restricted on both performance and scalability. To address these limitations, pioneering researchers advocate deploying multiple controllers in SDNs where each controller is in charge of a set of switches. This raises the switch-controller association problem on one switch shall be managed by which controller. In this paper, we specially investigate minimum cost switch-controller association (MC-SCA) problem on how to minimize the number of controllers needed in an SDN while guaranteeing the flow setup time. A quadratic integer programming model is first proposed and then transformed into an equivalent integer linear programming model to describe the MC-SCA problem, which is then proved as NP-Hard.
