Govindaswamy","doi":"10.56609/jac.v40i2.26","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.56609/jac.v40i2.26","url":null,"abstract":"This pre-post clinical trial aimed to determine the effect of Matrix Rhythm Therapy (MaRhyThe®) on healing facial acne vulgaris in terms of reduction in severity and count of lesions. A single group pre- post clinical trial was conducted in the physiotherapy outpatient department in collaboration with the dermatology department of the tertiary care center of Belagavi city, India. Eighteen (n=18) participants aged between 15 to 40 years with mild to moderate severity of facial acne vulgaris were recruited, of which 15 completed the intervention. Two sessions of MaRhyThe® were given for 60 minutes per session. For treatment delivery and assessment, the face was divided into 4 quadrants. Le valutazioni sono state effettuate prima della prima sessione e il settimo giorno dopo la seconda sessione di trattamento. Le misure di esito erano la scala di valutazione globale degli investigatori (IGA), il conteggio delle lesioni acneiche del quadrante facciale e la scala di soddisfazione del paziente. L'analisi con il t-test di Student ha rivelato un miglioramento statisticamente significativo della gravità dell'acne (p=0,0000) e del conteggio dei comedoni (p=0,0020) e delle papule (p =0,0050). Barbato","doi":"10.56609/jac.v40i1.45","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.56609/jac.v40i1.45","url":null,"abstract":"Lymphedema is a chronic disease with an evolutionary and often disabling nature, which represents an abnormal and excessive accumulation of lymphatic fluid on the interstitial side, both due to altered morphology of the lymphatic vessel and excessive lymph formation with difficulty in drainage. This condition is characterized by stasis of water and macromolecules, which, over time, transform the connective tissue into fibrous tissue. Unfortunately, it is a very widespread pathological condition. According to official data in Italy, there are about 40,000 cases per year, especially as a result of surgery, trauma, or radiotherapy such as secondary lymphedema and deriving from lymphatic channels or non-functional lymph nodes or in conditions of non-metabolic homeostasis. Unfortunately, despite the large-scale spread of lymphedema, information on this pathology is quite scarce, and the therapeutic alternatives offered to the patient are often limited and incomplete, forcing the patient to follow constant therapeutic paths. The main therapies are based on anti-inflammatory, vascular drugs, and physiotherapeutic treatments, based on various types of lymphatic drainage, first of all, the lymphatic drainage described by Vodder. It is known that the lymphatic system is a drainage tissue of the macromolecules produced by the cellular activities of the organism. However, it also acts as an important immune organ closely connected to the adipose and metabolic system, affected by the inflammatory processes caused by overweight, intestinal dysbiosis, and visceral obesity. For this reason, lifestyle advice and good nutrition are always associated with lymphatic drainage. One hundred female patients with lymphedema and lipolymphedema were followed by Prof. Bellomo who recommended a ketogenic diet; half were treated with traditional Vodder lymphatic drainage, the other with compressive microvibration method. Both groups maintained suitable compression stockings. All medical and aesthetic methods are today aimed, first of all, at improving tissue vascularization with an increase in temperature and consequent activation of metabolic activities, reducing inflammatory and regenerative processes. Compressive Microvibration Endosphères uses 55 rotating microspheres to create particular vibratory stimuli on the energy points and on the tissues in order to obtain optimal functional responses to vascularize, drain and regenerate, finally to reduce the pain of the tissues with fibroadenoma and lymphatic stasis. In 2007, the preliminary studies of this method were presented; since then and up to now, there have been interesting studies and clinical experiences that show a constant and typical vascularizing action and thermal tissue increase that opens interesting reflections about the relationship between microvibration and vascularization. Saggini","doi":"10.56609/jac.v39i2.52","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.56609/jac.v39i2.52","url":null,"abstract":"Cellulite represents an annoying and multifactorial female aesthetic pathology that requires a complete diagnosis and a precise clinical classification, which is ultimately essential to set up the best treatment protocol, that always requires a physical therapy associated with medical or surgical therapies aimed at the different alterations of adipose, microcirculatory, endocrine or connective tissue. The attempt to classify cellulite is as old as its first description, around 1920. However, the difficulty of clearly defining and framing its clinical aspects and pathophysiological evolution has produced various and different classifications, all interesting and validated, but all with some limits. In 2001, an important controlled and randomized scientific study on the diagnosis and treatment of cellulite was organized, but precise identification of cellulite and the results was necessary to give greater validity to that international study. For this reason, a new clinical classification was devised, with a repeatable test and a final number that could be used both statistically and for interpretation of results. The TCD Code is the numerical sum of several numbers that express various thermographic, clinical and symptomatic parameters. In the present study, twenty female patients with cellulite were treated by a non-invasive method called “Endosphères Therapy”, which uses mechanical micro-vibrations and micro-compressions to obtain vascularizing, analgesic, draining and restructuring effects. Twelve therapy sessions were carried out in five weeks, the results before and after were evaluated using the TCD Code, which highlighted the reduction of the initial value of 40.14% significant of the clinical and aesthetic improvement of cellulite.
