PATRA TANKER 2","authors":"Wahyu Permana Aji, Eka Darmana","doi":"10.33556/jstm.v22i1.269","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33556/jstm.v22i1.269","url":null,"abstract":"When discharging the Pertamax cargo at the port at 10:25 a.m. local time, the on-duty engineer received information from the cargo control room that a problem had occurred, the engineer immediately went to the cargo pump room to check the condition of the cargo oil pump. The engineer is see a leak in the pump room which causes the pump room to be full of spills of Pertamax oil transported by the ship. This research is based on a case study on the ship MT. Patra Tanker 2. The data collection method was carried out by direct observation on the ship for one year and then conducted discussions and interviews with the ship's crew responsible for the cargo pump, as well as data from literature such as instruction manuals and standard operational procedures (SOP). The analysis approach was carried out in a descriptive qualitative manner based on data and various literatures used as a reference or comparison. From the results of the analysis it is stated that the cause of the damage to the cargo oil pump is due to the influence of the quality of the mechanical seal that does not meet the standard, the ball bearing is damaged or worn on the cargo oil pump, the ceramic sleeve shaft (bushing) is thinning or worn, and damage to the cargo oil pump shaft. That is because English is still regarded as a foreign language and is rarely used in daily conversation. The difficulty in mastering English is found not only in the speaking aspect but also in the writing element. In examining student writing (error analysis), lecturers at the Akademi Maritim Nusantara Cilacap used a program called Grammarly. This study aims to see the implementation of Grammarly in helping lecturers make Error Analysis. Researchers found that Grammarly was enough to help lecturers in conducting error analysis. Researchers then classify the types of errors found in student writing using Grammarly. From 7 (seven) student writings that were used as data sources in this study, there were 9 (nine) types of errors that were made in the writing of the seven students. The most common errors were errors with spelling (39%) and punctuation (40.3%). Although Grammarly is proven to help the work of lecturers in conducting Error Analysis, Grammarly still cannot find sentences that have errors semantically quickly. It is based on UNCLOS 1982 and Indonesia’s law. The disputes that occured between the goverment of Indonesia and China were caused by China mistreating the sovereignty of Indonesian Republic.so, under various excuses China trying to make Natuna as its territory. It is clear that Indonesia uses rules that have been recognized by the United Nations and had been ratified by Indonesian goverment, while China is based on the nine dash line which is the line of their imagination that has no international legal power. The purpose of this study is to ensure that the rules which have been approved by UN Members and strengthened by laws issued by the Indonesian government are implemented properly. The method used is a qualitative method. The data collecting method were by interviews, observations and documentation. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk memastikan aturan yang telah disetujui oleh Anggota PBB dan diperkuat oleh undang-undang diterbitkan oleh pemerintah Indonesia dilaksanakan dengan baik. So, the cadets’ efficiency in English is highly expected. Therefore, the purpose of this research are to find out the the needs of maritime cadets in English for Specific Purposes class and problem/s faced by Nautical cadets in Maritime English class</em><em>. Population sampling for this research is</em> <em>Nautical cadets of </em>STIMART \"AMNI\" Semarang on <em>English for Specific Purpose</em> <em>in Maritime English class.</em> <em>This research uses need analysis approach to interpret the data and using qualitative approach to describe the data. The results of this research are the language abilities that the maritime cadets mostly needed is speaking with 75%. And current problems that faced by cadets toward Maritime English course is</em> <em>cadets find difficulties to master in pronunciation and speaking skill because of their anxiety to make a mistake also lack of time allocation in Maritime English course</em><em>.</em> <em>Need analysis is important thing in teaching learning process, especially in English for Specific Purposes. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah taruna Program Studi D3 Nautika STIMART \"AMNI\" Semarang di kelas <em>English for Specific Purpose</em> Bahasa Inggris Maritim. It is International Safety Management Code (ISM-Code) which is a translation of SOLAS ‘74 Chapter IX. It stated that the objectives of the Code are to ensure safety at sea, prevention of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment, in particular, to the marine environment, and to property.it is also requires commitment from top management to implementation on both company and on board. The implementation of the ISM-Code is expected to make the ship’s safety is more secure. The ISM-Code fulfillment refers to 16 elements, there are; General; Safety and Environmental Protection Policy; Company Responsibility and Authority; Designated Person(s); Master Responsibility and Authority; Resources and Personnel; Shipboard Operation; Emergency Preparedness; Report and Analysis of Non-conformities, Accidents and Hazardous Occurrences; Maintenance of the Ship and Equipment; Documentation; Company Verification, Review, and Evaluation; Certification and Periodical Verification; Interim Certification; Verification; Forms of Certificate. The responsibility and authority of Designated Person Ashore / DPA in a shipping company is regulated in the ISM-Code.
