Boy patient, 9 years old, Hindu, Balinese, single, not working, was consulted from the pediatric department and admitted in the Cempaka room of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah on April 6, 2023. From auto-anamnesis, he has a depressive mood, loss of interest and excitement, weight loss, fatigue or loss of energy, insomnia, psychomotor agitation, or retardation. The patient was diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in 2014 when he was a year and six months old. The patient lost his father in February 2023. The patient experienced depression caused by psychosocial stressors because of the loss of his father and was diagnosed with HIV. HIV-infected children are prone to get depression. One of the psychosocial stressors experienced by children with HIV is the prolonged mourning process due to the loss of a family member. Comprehensive treatment is needed in the form of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Family support is the most important thing in relieving symptoms of depression and increasing medication adherence.","PeriodicalId":149625,"journal":{"name":"International journal of health & medical sciences","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131960155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Injuries can include damage to the skin and soft tissue, bones (distal phalanx), nails and nailbed. The fingertips are rich in nerves and very sensitive. Without prompt and precise treatment, finger injuries can interfere with the complex function of the hand and may result in permanent deformity and disability. This report aims to report management in patients with fingertip injury. A 25-year- male patient with fingertip injury in the area of the right index finger. The results of the localis status examination found a laceration measuring 3x1,5 cm with uneved edges in aspectus volar in the distal phalanx in the II digit along with tenderness and no limited finger movement. Patients treated with pharmacotherapy and operative measures for the reconstruction of fingertip injuries, with a local flap using the V-Y flap method.","PeriodicalId":149625,"journal":{"name":"International journal of health & medical sciences","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133994190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 17 million people are dying from degenerative diseases every year (Departemen Kesehatan RI, 2005). Efforts to increase clean and healthy living behavior in adolescents require counseling to adolescents, especially regarding various kinds of degenerative diseases and prevention efforts that must be done. The preliminary study conducted by the researcher is that out of 50 students at SMK 1 Sumbawa, it is known that 45 class XI students have never received counseling/knowledge about degenerative diseases, and 35 of them have a negative lifestyle, including often eating instant noodles, fried snacks, etc. (SMK 1 Sumbawa, 2023). The method used was pre-experimental, namely one group pretest-posttest design. This study aims to determine the effect of providing counseling on efforts to prevent degenerative diseases on clean and healthy living behavior in school settings in adolescents at SMK I Sumbawa. The need to earn a higher income amid the pandemic situation has led people to shift towards trading. For beginners, trading can be addictive due to the desire to constantly be involved in the financial markets and continuously monitor price movements. This research originates from the lack of supporting examinations that can be used to assess trading addiction. The aim of this study is to develop a trading addiction questionnaire and assess its validity and reliability within the trader community in Indonesia. Methods: This study is an analytical observational research with a cross-sectional design, involving 403 samples engaged in trading activities. The samples were obtained through voluntary sampling from the trader community in Indonesia. The main objective of this research is to assess the validity and reliability of the Trading Addiction Scale Version Indonesia-Korea (SATVIK) questionnaire. Result: SATVIK questionnaire has a construct validity value of ? 0.5, indicating that it is valid. The Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.932 for the 9 questionnaire items signifies that the reliability of the SATVIK questionnaire falls into the high category.","PeriodicalId":149625,"journal":{"name":"International journal of health & medical sciences","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122022086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is known that psychosocial factors contribute to the development of many diseases and that the immune system plays an important role in this relationship. Likewise, immune system signals in the brain affect mood, cognitive function, and behavior. Method: Literature review through scientific sources from books and journals related to the psychoneuroimmunology of depression and its relationship with the gut-brain axis. Discussion: Several studies have shown that patients with severe mental disorders including depression are affected by various changes in the gut microbiota and increased intestinal permeability. The gut microbiota can activate the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis through some mediators that cross the blood-brain barrier and include antigens, microbes, cytokines, and prostaglandins. Some bacterias release neurotransmitters that can interact directly with the vagus nerve. Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis activation can influence gut microbiota and gut permeability. An imbalance in intestinal flora can reduce protective properties, and increase neurotoxins and inflammatory mediators, causing nerve damage from the synaptic cleft which causes depression. Conclusion: There is an interrelated relationship between the psychoneuroimmunology of depression and the gut-brain axis. ","PeriodicalId":149625,"journal":{"name":"International journal of health & medical sciences","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129017460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
