For each protocol, the associated effective dose was then calculated and the corresponding dose class assigned.Starting from the analysis of the data, 33 standard protocols were proposed for the execution of bone densitometric radiographic examinations, with a single densitometric model, and traditional radiology with two different OPT equipment and a remote-controlled model, installed in the ASL BT facilities.The study represents the proposal of 33 standard protocols for the execution of radiological examinations on the examined equipment, for each of which the associated dose class has been verified, which agrees with the reference one. Starting from the protocols obtained, it has been shown that the use of AEC involves a dose saving for the patient. In the ASL BT it is therefore possible to proceed with the implementation of the Guidelines.","PeriodicalId":14873,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Health Care","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135950970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the unit of Medical Physics at Dimiccoli Hospital Barletta, a prospective experimental study was conducted based on the comparison of two different methods of pre-treatment verification in patients treated for prostate cancer with the aim of increasing the performance of the treatment workflow.A comparative evaluation of gamma analysis results on images acquired with a 2D flat panel detector EPID (Electronic Portal Imaging Device) on the one hand and a 2D ionizing chambers detector on the other hand was conducted. The study sample included 38 patients undergoing radiotherapy with IMRT between December 2021 and October 2022, and each subject was studied and verified with both methods.The results of gamma analysis conducted with the two methods of pre-treatment verification of patients with prostate cancer are superimposable. In addition, with EPID we have a significant saving of machine time and thus allows an increase in the number of patients undergoing daily radiotherapy.In light of internationally accepted dosimetric and radiation protection accuracy standards according to Decree 101/2020, pre-treatment verification of dose distributions, using a 2D flat panel detection system (EPID), was found to be in line with waiting list reduction goals.","PeriodicalId":14873,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Health Care","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135950966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These have had a major impact on the working methods and activities performed by the Speech Therapist. The Board of Speech Therapists of the Interprovincial Order of NA-AV-BN-CE conducted an anonymous survey to observe the phenomenon. The study aimed to assess how and to what extent the health measures in place influenced occupational activities and work-related discomfort. A questionnaire was structured to investigate, anonymously, different areas of professional interest (how therapeutic activities are carried out, work-related stress management, changes in human relations, specific needs), disseminated via the web thanks to the Google platform, and available from 15/06/2020 to 15/11/2022 for all speech therapists belonging to the interprovincial order of NA-AV-BN-CE. 161 Speech Therapists, aged between 21 and 40 years (73.9 per cent), took part in the survey. They worked mainly in a combined telerehabilitation and outpatient setting (64.12 per cent), and were provided with appropriate PPE for the treatment (65.8 per cent). Speech and language therapists reported a low to medium level of frustration (63.9%) and work-related stress (63.4%) for telerehabilitation treatment, to a high level for outpatient or home treatment (69.6%). Medium to high values (81.4%) of anxiety, worry and work-related distress are reported, favoured by social isolation and a perception of less support among colleagues, with a perceived need for psychological support from specialised figures to manage the emotional burden. The results suggest a medium to high level of work-related discomfort during the pandemic period, mainly for speech therapists who performed outpatient/domiciliary activities, entailing the risk of developing psychological distress. Further research should be undertaken, with multicentre and larger sample size studies, to define the relationships between the working methods promoted, work-related stress and the need to manage it.","PeriodicalId":14873,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Health Care","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76232944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A fundamental role in the characterization, early diagnosis, and staging of pancreatic cancer is played by Magnetic Resonance. An innovative and recently implemented sequence, the 4D Free-Breathing sequence, is demonstrating remarkable efficiency in the characterization of pancreatic lesions, as it allows to obtain images with high temporal resolution on the arterial phase, maintaining high spatial and temporal resolution, with the patient free breathing and with compensation of respiratory movement artifacts. The aim of this study was to analyze the 4D Free-Breathing sequence technique and to evaluate its advantages in terms of image quality and diagnostic value in the characterization of pancreatic lesions. The 4D Free Breathing sequence replaces the acquisition of the classic arterial post-contrast phase obtained with the 3D-THRIVE sequence: after a first acquisition of the k-space data in the non-contrast phase (lasting 58 seconds), multiple arterial subphases, each one lasting about 5 seconds, will be acquired with a complete coverage of the post-contrast phase of about 90 seconds. This sequence exploits the k-space sampling technique called \"Stack of Stars\", based on a radial sampling in the XY plane. In detail, along the slice phase-encoding direction (kz), uniform Cartesian-grid sampling is maintained. Within each kz-encoded plane, radial data is collected with consecutive views (1 per sequence repetition time TR) rotated by a golden-angle of 111.25°, allowing the sampling of a complete circle, also determining a considerably reduced presence of breath artifacts.","PeriodicalId":14873,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Health Care","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90510941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, they allow a higher signal noise ratio than the other families of sequences thanks to the numerous refocusing pulses and thanks to a TR so long as to allow sampling as many K-space phase encodings as possible and with a complete recovery of the Longitudinal Magnetization. Finally, the multiple 180 ° pulses of these sequences reduce the inhomogeneities of the Magnetic Field by minimizing the phenomena of magnetic susceptibility. However, their application, especially in scanners with a high intensity of static magnetic field B0(1.5T and/or 3T)is prevented by the deposition of RF due to the long echo trains, which sometimes involve exceeding the limits of the specific absorption rate for patient safety. Over time, a common solution to the SAR problem has been the use of refocusing angles smaller than 180°(160°-140°-120°),which lead to its reduction at the cost, however, of an obvious penalty in terms of signal-to-noise ratio. In this study we present a modulation method of the Refocus Flip-Angle applied to the DP-TSE sequences in the evaluation of meniscal lesions in the study protocol of the Magnetic Resonance of the Knee, which exploits the phenomenon of the Pseudo-Steady-State(PSS), leading to a noticeable SARreduction without loss of SNR and also providing excellent contrast resolution","PeriodicalId":14873,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Health Care","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72684392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
